Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: Blood God Ring and the Tyrant Lizard

Gu You thought for a moment and said, "Alright then." He didn't want to bully someone who seemed so genuine. Earning a little less was fine.

From what he could sense, Jiang Wuyue's soul power was around six rings. That might be a peak realm in most people's eyes, but to Gu You, someone like that was as easy to crush as an ant. He could kill a Soul Emperor-level opponent with a flick of his fingers.

"Let's go!"

Jiang Wuyue was clearly a man of action. He led Gu You straight to the Blood God Legion's living quarters.

The so-called living quarters was a vast complex of connected buildings, a space for Blood God Legion soldiers to train, relax, and unwind outside of combat or duty. Inside were various recreational and training facilities—including, of course, the combat chambers.

Since it was still morning, the area wasn't crowded. Only a few off-duty soldiers were training or taking a break.

Renting a combat room cost fifty merit points per hour. In the Blood God Legion, everything had to be paid for with merit points, meant to encourage soldiers to fight bravely and earn their place.

Jiang Wuyue tapped the metal bracelet on his wrist at the door. The merit points were deducted immediately. Gu You had one of those bracelets now too—called a Blood God Ring. It was incredibly useful, recording all personal data, tracking merit gained from killing abyssal creatures, and ensuring everything was fair. Inside the Legion, every single transaction was made through this ring.

Even more impressively, the Blood God Ring was synced with the user's physical status. If someone was injured or sick, it would immediately notify the main base and summon medical help.

The combat chamber itself was huge—one hundred meters in diameter. In the frozen wastelands of the Endless Mountain Range, building something like this was no small feat.

The energy shield alone cost a lot to maintain, so the fifty merit point fee per hour was more than fair.

Jiang Wuyue took off his coat and stepped to the side of the room as the shield activated.

Gu You also shed his outerwear and did a quick stretch.

Jiang Wuyue's demeanor changed completely. Gone was the clumsy big guy. Now he stood like a lion ready to pounce—composed, intense, eyes fixed on Gu You.

"You ready?" Jiang Wuyue shouted at him.

"Ready," Gu You replied calmly, eyes locked on his opponent.

Just then, a string of chimes rang out from Jiang Wuyue's body. He looked a bit embarrassed and raised his hand to pause. "Sorry, gotta take this."

"Qiyue? What's up? Me? I'm in the combat chamber, sparring with a buddy… What? You wanna come? No, no, this isn't fun stuff, you shouldn't— Alright, alright, little ancestor. I can't say no to you. But keep it secret!"

He ended the call, looking helpless. "Qiyue insisted on watching. I can't stop her. If I don't let her, she'll go blabbing to my superiors. Sorry, we'll have to wait a bit."

Gu You chuckled. 'This guy's scared of his little sister?'

Soon enough, Jiang Qiyue stormed into the chamber. When she saw that Gu You was Jiang Wuyue's opponent, her eyes widened.

"Seriously, bro? You're challenging a new recruit? Oh, I get it—you're jealous, aren't you? Shame on you! What if you hurt this pretty boy?"

Jiang Wuyue had been blunt when he'd said it himself, but hearing it from his sister turned his face red. "Qiyue, quiet down! Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Besides, he agreed. Ask him!"

"You agreed to fight my brother?" Jiang Qiyue said, shocked. "I heard from Yuxue you're strong, but my brother's a lieutenant colonel! He fought his way to that rank! You're still a kid. What's your cultivation, huh? My brother's been called the future successor of the Blood Division by Uncle Xu!"

Her words came fast and sharp like flying daggers.

Gu You looked her up and down, then said with a look of mock disdain, "I'd tell you, but it'd scare you."

"You—! What kind of look is that?" Jiang Qiyue bristled. "You're asking for a beating! Fine, suit yourself. I'll be your referee."

As she walked past him, she lowered her voice, "My brother's martial soul is the Tyrant Dragon. Be careful. It's one of the most powerful strength-type martial souls out there. Consider this payback for saving me some merit the other day. We're even now."

With that, she stepped out of the chamber.

'Martial soul: Tyrant Dragon?'

'A Tyrannosaurus?'

Gu You was a little surprised. That kind of martial soul was on par with the Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear—nearly impossible for the average person to inherit without mutation. The sheer power of it would crush most people during the awakening process.

If Jiang Wuyue really had mutated his martial soul to this extent, Gu You had to admit—he deserved a bit more respect.

"Ready?" Jiang Qiyue's voice came through the speakers.

"Ready," both Gu You and Jiang Wuyue replied in unison.

"Begin!"

With her shout, Jiang Wuyue stomped his left foot and charged forward like a bulldozer.

As he ran, his body rapidly expanded. Just a few steps in, he stood over seven meters tall, an imposing beast of a man. His upper body turned iron black, thick metallic scales covering him like armor. His eyes glowed red, and the air around him warped from the sheer force of his aura.

His soul rings rose beneath his feet—four purple, two black. A true six-ring Soul Emperor, and a very powerful one at that.

It was the peak of beast-type martial soul strength. In raw power alone, even Yuanen's Titan Giant Ape might fall short.

And this guy was just a lieutenant colonel? The Blood God Legion really was full of monsters.

Jiang Wuyue didn't activate any soul skills. With one massive step, he leaped into the air and lunged at Gu You.

"Nice form, but in close combat… you don't stand a chance," Gu You's eyes glowed.

At that moment, his body—
