'Seed of the Plane?' Even after years of dealing with abyssal creatures, this was the first time even someone like Wuqing Douluo, Cao Dezhi, had ever heard such a thing existed.
More importantly, he could clearly sense that his spatial sealing and Zhang Huanyun's domain were starting to lose control over this creature.
A weight settled on Cao Dezhi's heart. He realized now that he had underestimated these one hundred and eight Abyssal Emperors. Simply having the ability to devour their energy wasn't enough to eliminate them. And this one—Six-Clawed Demon Emperor—was supposed to be one of the weaker ones. If even he couldn't be completely subdued, then what of the stronger abyssal monarchs?
What made it worse was that they still didn't understand why the main abyssal passage had opened.
Just then, as Cao Dezhi's frown deepened, Gu Yue's body underwent a strange transformation.
One ring after another rose beneath his feet—eight in total: three red, one green-gold, three orange-gold, and one scarlet-gold. The fourth ring, the green-gold one, suddenly flared brilliantly. A beam of emerald light shot from his brow.
Cao Dezhi watched in astonishment as a green seedling-like sigil emerged on Gu Yue's forehead, pulsing with life, from which the green light had erupted.
The emerald beam shot directly into the chest of the Six-Clawed Demon Emperor. A strange scene unfolded: his chest appeared to melt, hollowing into a gaping hole. The green light then solidified into a vine covered in vibrant leaves and plunged into the Emperor's body.
The demon's laughter stopped instantly.
"What—what is this accursed thing?!" he howled in pain. His screech shook the entire spatial domain, distorting the fabric of space, but from within his chest glowed a brilliant green.
At that moment, Gu Yue felt the exuberant joy of the Tree of Life deep within his spirit.
The energy absorbed through the Golden Dragon Spear waned slightly, but the life force released by the Tree of Life now flooded every corner of his body, making him feel as though every cell within him were dancing with vitality.
The Six-Clawed Demon Emperor shrieked and thrashed, trying desperately to rid himself of the thing inside him. But the vine from Gu Yue's brow—no thicker than a pinkie finger—remained anchored within him, turning his chest a vivid green from the inside out.
'The Seed of the Plane versus the Tree of Life's seed? Now that's poetic,' Cao Dezhi thought, shaking his head with a chuckle. He knew the operation had succeeded.
Gu Yue's dragon core pounded like a war drum. His blood boiled with power like never before. The life energy coursing through him erased any worry of physical overload. Not only was his dragon core expanding, but his soul core's facets were multiplying at an astonishing rate—clear signs of advancement.
The two great energy cores in his body—the soul core and the dragon core—greedily absorbed every bit of essence from the Demon Emperor. But the greatest share was going to the Tree of Life at his brow.
Suddenly, the demon shuddered violently before collapsing, limp and unmoving. The vine recoiled, bringing with it a dark purple, oval-shaped crystal. The dimly flickering orb pulsed faintly. The vine had driven roots into it, and green light poured along its surface before flooding into Gu Yue's forehead, vanishing into the Tree of Life.
Gu Yue slowly opened his eyes.
His soul power had surged to the peak of rank 86—just a breath away from stepping into rank 87.
'That was insanely fast. One level in just a few days.'
"Senior Xue Yi," Gu Yue said calmly, "that kind of abyssal creature... are there more?"
Cao Dezhi smiled faintly. "Oh, there are plenty more. Quite a lot, actually. And if what your Tree of Life just consumed was truly the Plane Seed, then the Abyss itself might be in serious trouble."

Boom! Boom!
The earth collapsed. Magma gushed out from cracks in the ground. The entirety of the 97th layer of the Abyss crumbled.
Countless creatures residing in that layer were obliterated in the catastrophic collapse. The entire Abyss trembled violently.
The disappearance of the Plane Seed meant the foundation of that layer was gone. The abyssal energy that formed it began to dissipate and flow toward adjacent layers. All creatures dependent on that layer—such as Four-Clawed Bats, Six-Clawed Bat Fiends, and others—instantly perished, their bodies disintegrating into raw abyssal energy and dispersing.
"What's going on? What happened to the 97th layer?!" Roars of rage echoed throughout the Abyss.
Enormous, terrifying figures emerged one after another in the depths of the plane, each radiating incredible fury and disbelief.
"The 97th layer collapsed. How is this possible?" cried one.
Those nearest to that layer felt the quake most acutely. The ripple effect devastated nearby layers. Though the abyssal energy itself could be reclaimed and reused, nothing like this had ever happened since the creation of the 108 layers of the Abyss.
"Something happened to the Six-Clawed Demon Emperor. It looks like he died in the human world—and even the Plane Seed was destroyed!"
"What? Since when did humans have the power to destroy a Plane Seed? That's impossible. It's the purest essence of a plane. Unless... they managed to mobilize the origin energy of their own plane. Only then could it be done."
"This changes everything. We need to revise our entire strategy—possibly advance our plans. If the humans are already this powerful... and they decide to invade our world through the Abyssal passage, it'll be a disaster."
"Enough!" A voice cold and bone-chilling silenced them all.
From the deepest darkness, a massive vertical pupil opened. Blood-red and horrifying, the eye was made of countless smaller red eyes clustered together. Anyone with trypophobia might have collapsed at the mere sight of it.
As the eye opened, the entire Abyss trembled in response…
