Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 : Aadhya's Confused Heart

Aadhya's POV :

Ugh. That was so embarrassing.

I sat in the car, my face still red from what just happened. I bumped into that guy, almost fell, and then I took his phone by mistake like some thief. What is wrong with me?

"Can't he even walk properly?" I muttered. But honestly… I was more mad at myself. I just wanted to leave that place fast.

But... the moment I looked into his eyes, I don't know why — something happened. Meri saans hi ruk gayi for a second.

And then came those flashbacks.

A palace… burning.

A girl crying.

A boy holding her hand tightly.

Everything was so dramatic and emotional. It didn't even feel like a dream… it felt real. Like a memory. Lekin kaisi memory? I don't even know that guy!

I took a deep breath and shook it off. "Aadhya, stop imagining things," I whispered to myself. "Bas ek random moment tha."

By the time I got home, pura house wedding mode mein tha.

Lights, music, flowers, aunties shouting, kids running… pure chaos.

"Aadhya!" mom called from the kitchen. "Mehendi cones laaye?"

"Haaan mummy," I said, holding the packet. "Aur files bhi rakh diye office mein."

I slipped off my sandals and went to didi's room. And she was sitting there, looking all bridal and beautiful.

"Wow, dulhan banne ke liye toh tayyar hi thi tu," I teased.

She laughed. "Obviously! Main aaj ki heroine hoon."

I hugged her tight. She's not just my sister, she's my best friend. We talked, joked, and clicked a few selfies like old times.

When I came out, Papa stopped me. "Office ka kaam ho gaya?"

"Done, papa," I smiled. "Sab files rakh diye."

But before I could even go upstairs, mummy shouted again, "Aadhya, hamesha kaam kaam kaam! Ab taiyaar hojao! Shaadi hai, meeting nahi!"

"Chill mummy," I smiled. "Ja rahi hoon."

I went upstairs to get ready, but my mind was still stuck on that guy.

Who was he?

Why did I see flashbacks when I looked at him?

Aur yeh sab mujhe ab kyun feel ho raha hai… after my birthday?

Everything felt strange. But deep down, something told me—this was just the beginning.

Forget all this.

Honestly, I love getting ready— thoda extra hona toh mera style hai. Wearing makeup, choosing the perfect outfit, fixing my hair—I enjoy all of it. I love feeling like a queen. And tonight, I wanted to look the best, not just for the occasion… but for myself.

It was my sister's engagement after all, and our house was going to be full of people—relatives, family friends, our business partners, and some really big names from the industry.

While choosing my earrings, I remembered what papa told me this morning—

"Some important guests are coming tonight, Aadhya. They're potential partners for our next project. You might want to meet them."

I didn't ask much. Papa handles most of the big deals, and I trust him. Honestly, I don't even know who those people are. But if papa said they're important, then they must be. And if they're coming tonight, well… Toh mujhe aur bhi stunning lagna padega.

I glanced at the mirror once more.

"Queen mode: On," I smirked to myself.

Little did I know… the night was going to be far more dramatic than I had imagined.
