----------------------------------------------------------

Frankly, when Asher went to see Scathach earlier, he genuinely didn't have any strange ideas about her. It was simply out of habit... or perhaps instinct.

He just wanted to confide his troubles to Scathach, hoping that his Shishou would guide him as she used to...

That's how it should have unfolded.

But now, this unfolding was completely unexpected for Asher.

The Queen of the Land of Shadows sat by the window, her aggressive kiss pressed against Asher's lips, only releasing him after a long moment.

Then, Scathach casually poured herself a glass of red wine, swirling the crimson liquid in the glass, and calmly said, "You've asked your questions. Now it's my turn to ask you something."

"Ask me what?" Asher asked, puzzled.

"That dream," Scathach said. "Did you know you'd have that dream after being knocked unconscious, which is why you let Lily knock you out?"

Oh, she was talking about that.

Asher gently shook his head: "Not sure, I just felt there was a possibility."

After speaking, he silently turned his head towards the window.

Scathach scrutinized him for a few moments, then poked Asher's face with her finger. "Are you sulking? Because I didn't stop others from watching, and even watched your dream with them?"

"You're my Shishou, how could I dare to be angry?" Asher said.

Scathach's brow slightly arched, and a faint smile quickly appeared on her face. "If I didn't watch, how would I know how you view your Shishou now?"

"For example... being old," she said.

Asher's eyelids twitched slightly. He said, "I actually don't mind people seeing my dreams. I was just thinking about something earlier."

He felt that if he continued talking like this, Scathach would probably settle all old and new scores.

"Thinking about what?" Scathach asked.

"Sister's matter."

Scathach fell silent.

"Oh, and one more thing..." Asher suddenly remembered the geis that Morgan had placed on him, which was to marry Lily afterward. Asher had been hesitating whether to tell Scathach all this time, but if he kept delaying it now, it would be exposed in less than a year.

Perhaps it would be better to say it now.

"Just say it directly," Scathach smiled, flicking his forehead as she looked at the indecisive young man.

"Being so indecisive is not the mark of a qualified warrior."

Though she herself wasn't in a position to lecture her disciple.

If a qualified warrior shouldn't have any hesitation, then she should have told her daughter about her and her disciple's relationship long ago.

Just as Asher's mouth slightly opened to speak, a knock suddenly sounded at the door.

Immediately after, a girl's voice came from outside the room.

"Shishou, are you in your room?" Artoria's voice called out.

The Shishou and disciple exchanged glances. Scathach pointed to the curtains, signaling Asher to hide.

"I don't need to hide, do I, Shishou?" Asher whispered.

"It doesn't seem strange for me to come to your room to ask about martial arts or magecraft, right?"

"If it were daytime, there'd be no need to hide, but think about what time it is now, and what happened recently...

Lily knows about it," Scathach said. "Do you think if you're in my room late at night, she truly wouldn't suspect anything?"

So, Asher had no choice but to silently hide behind the curtains. After Scathach confirmed he was hidden, she frowned slightly. The curtains were too thin; a faint silhouette could be seen from a glance.

However, luckily, the room's visibility wasn't high. She shifted her body so that her body perfectly overlapped with Asher's, making it difficult to detect him.

Unless Artoria directly came and pulled back the curtains.

But there was no need to worry about that. Given Lily's personality, she wouldn't directly make such a move, after all, that child was quite well-behaved.

Moreover, even if Lily did discover them, it wouldn't matter. She had already been discovered once anyway.

At most, she would just gain a reputation for violating

her Shishou's ethics in Lily's eyes.

In reality, this wasn't even a violation of her ethics. She had drunk that fish soup, which was why things turned out that way, and she was just a victim... Yes, that's

right.

After turning her head once more to confirm her disciple was well hidden, Scathach said in a calm tone, "Come in."

Artoria walked into the room, followed by a purple-haired girl whose large purple eyes curiously surveyed the surroundings. Then she raised her hand and said to Scathach, "Mom, good evening."

For a moment, even someone as powerful as Scathach, holding her cup, felt her fingers tremble slightly, but she quickly calmed down.

Ushas pounced into Scathach's arms, gently rubbing against her mother's thigh like a small cat.

"There are others here. Pay a little attention to your image," Scathach said, stroking Ushas's hair helplessly.

"It's fine, it's fine. Lily doesn't mind. If it were Ash, I'd have to be careful, after all, I need to maintain my older sister image in his heart."

When did you ever have an older sister image in my heart? Asher silently complained from behind the curtains.

He appeared calm, but in reality, he was just suppressing the tension in his heart.

No, if anything, besides tension, there was also some... excitement.

"He probably doesn't see you as an older sister," Scathach said, now completely calm, subtly raising her eyes to look at Artoria.

Artoria's gaze was scanning the surroundings, feeling perplexed.

"Lily, why are you with Ushas?" Scathach's voice brought Artoria's attention back.

"I met Lily on the way. She said she wanted to ask you something, so I came with her," Ushas replied first.

"I see," Scathach nodded slightly. "Do you have anything you want to ask, Lily?"

Artoria shook her head. "I already figured it out on the way here."

After speaking, her gaze fell directly on the curtains beside Scathach.

"Isn't it too stuffy with the windows closed like this?" Artoria asked softly.

Ushas's gaze also fell on the curtains. After a brief look,

she said, "Indeed, the room is a bit too stuffy like this."

Scathach's expression remained unchanged. She simply said calmly, "This is just right. I'm going to rest after you leave."

"And the windows have been open all along." As Scathach spoke, she touched the curtains with her finger and then gently pulled them open, turning to look at Artoria, whose eyes clearly held a hint of gloom.

"There just wasn't much wind tonight," Scathach continued.

Just then, an evening breeze blew through the window, ruffling Artoria's bangs. The girl's eyes showed a look of astonishment. Then, she slightly pursed her lips and said,

"It's getting late. I'll go back to rest now."

She turned and left.

After seeing Artoria leave, Scathach sighed softly.

This was also for Lily's own good. There wasn't enough fish soup to go around, and Lily's involvement would only complicate things further. Rather than that, it was

better for her to give up herself.

Ultimately, the disciple had been her daughter's from the beginning.

The marriage had been settled a long time ago. Counting the time, if it dragged on until he was twenty... there would be no more excuses to delay.

By then, she would only be able to...

"Mom... Mom!" Ushas's voice pulled Scathach back to reality. The woman slightly came to her senses, looked down at Ushas, and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's getting late tonight. I'm going back to rest now. I'll come find you tomorrow."

"Go on," Scathach said, stroking Ushas's head.

After seeing Ushas leave, Scathach raised her finger and gently waved it. The young man from behind the curtains reappeared in view.

"What did you do just now, Shishou?" Asher asked.

"Just a little trick," Scathach smiled casually. "Go back and rest well. You must be very tired today too."

Watching Asher nod and then leave the room, Scathach

felt a little troubled.

There were less than three years left. She wondered if she should reveal everything to her daughter during this time.

I'll think about it tomorrow.

Scathach shook her head. After Asher closed the door, she withdrew her gaze.

The room returned to darkness.

...

Asher returned to his room, first closing the door, then collapsing onto the bed without even looking.

After a while, he slowly exhaled.

A full day's fatigue washed over him. He felt his head spinning, and his eyes were about to close.

But just then, someone quietly approached from behind.

Asher sharply turned his head, but before he could get up, the girl pressed down on his chest, then pressed her knee onto him. Her emerald eyes were still beautiful in the dim light.

Golden hair brushed past Asher's face, tickling him and carrying a faint scent.

"Lily?!" Asher was stunned, and the movement of his

raised hand paused. "Why are you in my room?"

"I told you," Artoria whispered.

"Tonight, I must break fate... So, no one can stop me."
