----------------------------------------------------------
It was already night by the time the whole situation was finally explained. When the few people learned that Merlin was most likely the culprit who manipulated Asher, Merlin seemed to have been severely punished afterward. Merlin was still shouting "It wasn't me!" and similar things at the time, but Asher didn't have the energy to watch what exactly happened.
Asher was currently dragging his heavy footsteps along the corridor towards his room, looking utterly exhausted as if he had undergone severe torture. Fortunately, this corridor led directly to Asher's room, and normally no attendants would enter, otherwise, seeing King Arthur in such a state, they might have thought he had suffered an attack.
As Asher walked towards his room, a young girl quietly followed behind him. Asher had already noticed the girl behind him but paid her no mind, continuing towards his room. Eventually, the girl caught up to Asher and asked with concern, "Are you alright, Ash?"
"What do you think, Lily?" Asher glanced at Artoria then averted his gaze, continuing to walk. Artoria had also participated in questioning him earlier. In fact, for a split second, Asher even thought the Artoria he saw was actually the "Lion King" summoned that day. If he hadn't forced himself to explain everything clearly this afternoon, Asher would probably be Lazy, hung outside to dry by now.
"I'm sorry," Artoria said with a very guilty expression. "I thought you were really proposing to Miss Scathach..."
"How could you possibly think I'd propose to her in such a public setting?"
"But she also confessed to you..."
"Didn't I just say? That was all a plan, just a plan!" Asher emphasized twice.
"Mm, I know now. I need to apologize to you." Artoria nodded.
Asher sighed inwardly and continued to walk, saying, "I forgive you. Go back and get some good rest." Artoria still didn't leave, but continued to follow silently beside Asher with her head lowered.
Why does something feel off? Asher suddenly felt something wasn't right as he walked. Logically, under normal circumstances, Lily should have left by now, right? Why was she still following him? It looked as if she was preparing to enter the room with him. Could it be...
Suddenly thinking of a possibility, Asher's body stiffened involuntarily. He slightly tilted his head and looked at Artoria. Her deep blue eyes were staring straight at his face, her eyes moist, and she was gently biting her lip.
This won't do... It looks like Lily doesn't plan to leave tonight. But he had already arranged with Scathach to meet Odin tonight, so he had to rest early. Besides, he was indeed very tired right now and really didn't have the energy for any more trouble.
Asher slowly stopped and turned around, saying, "You go back and rest first, Lily." Artoria shook her head and said seriously, "I must ensure the King returns to his room safely." She continued, "Or are you too tired now and want to rest before leaving?"
"No..." Asher hesitated, then finally hardened his heart and said, "I, I don't want to see you for a while." However, Artoria's expression remained calm, and she merely said, "Even so, I must ensure you return safely to your room. This is my duty."
Asher: "..." It seemed he couldn't "drive" her away. When Asher saw Artoria's calm demeanor and the occasional furtive glance she cast, he probably understood... tonight's ordeal was likely unavoidable.
Time unknowingly passed into the latter half of the night. Asher lay in bed, looking as if he had lost all will to live. By the time the commotion ended, it was already late night. This was after Asher repeatedly emphasized that he wasn't feeling well today and wanted to rest early, which Artoria reluctantly agreed to. Then she held Asher's arm like a pillow and slowly fell asleep.
Looking at the sleeping girl beside him, Asher couldn't help but sigh with emotion. If it weren't for his own experience, he truly couldn't imagine Lily having such immense stamina. But then again, she ate a lot normally, so good stamina was normal. I should rest early. It would be troublesome if Skadi couldn't wait to see Odin and then came running to my room. As he thought this, Asher was about to close his eyes and sleep, but immediately felt an inexplicable weight on him. Someone in the quilt lightly wiggled, and soon a charming face emerged from under the covers, gazing at him with a slight smile.
"Sister Morgan, why are you here?!" Asher tried his best to lower his voice, while secretly glancing at Artoria.
"I came to apologize to you. I felt so guilty for misunderstanding you today; I never expected someone to have manipulated you." Morgan said, her soft body pressed completely against Asher. She slightly raised her head, her warm breath gently fanning his face, and continued, "So, big sister must apologize to you properly."
Asher: "..." "Where's my Shishou?" He tried to change the subject.
"On the way back from questioning Merlin, she ran into Uathach, who took her into her room, saying she wanted to sleep with her dear mother." Morgan said, her lips close to Asher's, "Let's not talk about that. Big sister needs to apologize to you properly today!"
"No need... I want to get some good rest," he said, then secretly glanced at Artoria, who was still sound asleep beside him. "Besides, Lily is still sleeping."
Even without thinking, Asher knew what Morgan meant by "apologize," but he was genuinely tired today, and he also had the task of letting Skadi meet Odin, so he really had no time for more trouble.
"Lily?" Morgan froze for a moment, then turned to look at the girl beside them.
"That's right... it's better not to wake Lily. Let's talk about it next time," Asher nodded and said. Now, only by bringing Lily into it could he make Morgan restrain herself a little. However, Morgan merely said, "Never mind. We'll talk when Lily wakes up." "Besides, I've already discussed it with her. After this, we don't need to worry about Lily's feelings anymore. After all, she's already done what she wanted to do and won't be like before. If she wakes up, we can just do it together."
Asher: "..." Whether it was their speaking too loudly or their heightened alertness, the next moment Asher fell silent, Artoria slowly opened her eyes.
