----------------------------------------------------------

Rimuru stood silently within the Falmuth Kingdom's camp, listening to the king's wailing echo through the air.

Compared to that sound, everything else felt unnaturally quiet.

He slowly swept his gaze across the surroundings. Soldiers knelt everywhere, heads lowered, faces twisted with despair. Their expressions were clear. They were waiting. Hoping that Rimuru and King Edmaris would reach some kind of agreement.

Hoping they would live.

But the scene unfolding before them had already given its answer.

The negotiations had failed.

They were going to die.

The silence that had followed Rimuru's descent shattered all at once. Curses. Pleas. Screams for mercy. Sounds layered over each other as they poured into Rimuru's ears.

He didn't react.

The final trace of forgiveness he possessed had already been extinguished during his conversation with King Edmaris.

"All of you will die."

Rimuru raised his hand calmly as he declared it.

The moment his words fell, the soldiers broke. They could no longer remain where they were. Panic spread instantly as they turned and fled in all directions.

"Impartial, activate."

Through Great Sage's analysis, Rimuru already understood the unique skill's effect.

'Impartial' controlled the souls of those who begged for mercy or sought salvation.

In other words, the moment someone lost the will to fight under this skill, death followed.

Strictly speaking, it was not an overwhelmingly powerful ability. Its limitations were severe. Under normal circumstances, its usefulness would be questionable.

But right now, there was no skill more fitting.

The moment 'Impartial' activated, the battlefield collapsed into silence.

One after another, the soldiers fell.

Bodies dropped where they stood, souls rising faintly into the air, drifting and lingering as proof that they had once existed.

"I really am cold-blooded."

Rimuru sighed quietly as he looked over the field of corpses.

He had always said he would annihilate them all. Even so, he had prepared himself for the possibility that some would escape. With twenty thousand people, that outcome had been inevitable.

Or so he thought.

But now-

Under the harvest of 'Impartial,' not a single one remained alive.

Everyone died here.

Perhaps, for them, this ending was not entirely cruel.

At least, it was painless.

"Announcement. Confirming whether the number of human souls has reached the evolution threshold..."

"Confirmation complete. Conditions satisfied. Evolution into Demon Lord will commence."

The Voice of the World echoed.

Rimuru's body trembled violently.

A deep exhaustion surged through him, flooding his limbs. He could feel control slipping away as the fundamental matter composing his body began to transform.

In the next instant, his form collapsed into that of a Slime.

"It seems your evolution is about to begin."

Shirou Emiya appeared beside him, catching Rimuru gently as he fell.

"It's Shirou..."

Rimuru's consciousness was already growing hazy. Seeing Shirou, his voice softened.

"I feel at ease with you here."

"Is that so?" Shirou asked calmly. "Then before you evolve, is there anything else you want to do?"

"Something else..."

Rimuru glanced weakly at the corpses scattered around them.

Originally, he had planned to consume them all and erase every trace of this place. But now, he didn't have the energy for that.

"We can't just leave them like this," he muttered. "It'll cause a plague."

After a brief pause, he spoke again.

"Let's use them to summon demons."

As he spoke, Rimuru extended his palm and activated demon summoning magic. The surrounding corpses dissolved, disappearing one by one.

In their place, three demons emerged.

"Only three?" Rimuru sighed. "I thought thirty would appear."

His voice grew slower, heavier.

"Until I wake up, you three will follow Shirou's commands."

Drowsiness pulled at him relentlessly.

"Hehehe."

One of the demons stepped forward, his tone filled with delight.

"This feeling is nostalgic. A new Demon Lord is born. Excellent. Such abundant offerings, and even a first task. It's a supreme honor."

He paused, eyes gleaming.

"May I continue serving you in the future?"

"We'll talk about that later," Rimuru replied weakly. "First, prove you're useful."

"Please rest assured, great summoner."

Rimuru could no longer resist the pull of sleep.

"I'm counting on you now."

Those were the last words he left to Shirou Emiya before his consciousness sank completely.

"So it's finally come to this, Rimuru."

Shirou looked down at him, genuine happiness surfacing in his eyes.

After this evolution, Rimuru's strength would likely rival his own.

Turning his attention away, Shirou looked toward the three demons.

"You're their leader, aren't you? What should I call you?"

"You may call me 'Black,' my lord."

The leading demon bowed deeply, unshaken by having his identity seen through.

"A codename?" Shirou said. "So you intend to serve under Rimuru."

"That is correct."

Black answered without hesitation.

"Hm."

Shirou nodded, then turned his gaze elsewhere.

Only two humans remained conscious in the plaza.

The foolish king.

And the bishop.

"So it was you who initiated this attack against us."

Even knowing Demon Lord Clayman stood behind everything, resentment still lingered.

Knowing something would happen didn't make facing it any more pleasant.

"Take these two," Shirou said calmly. "We're returning to Emiya City."

"Yes, my lord."

Black and the two demons moved immediately.

They followed Shirou as he rose into the air toward the Vimana. At full speed, they returned to the city in moments.

Below, Shuna and the others were already waiting, anxiety written clearly on their faces.

Shirou landed and stepped forward.

"Lord Emiya!" Shion rushed up. "Where is Lord Rimuru?"

Shirou raised his hands.

Rimuru lay within them.

"He's evolving into a true Demon Lord. This is the critical phase."

He handed Rimuru over.

"Secure the area. Do not allow any disturbance."

"Yes, Lord Emiya!"

Shion carefully placed Rimuru onto a prepared platform and wrapped him in white cloth.

"A true Demon Lord..."

Shirou watched as Rimuru's body shifted colors repeatedly.

"This time, you've gone ahead of me."

He exhaled softly.

"Rimuru."
