Chapter 3 - Not just a Cry, But a Roar

Hospitals are built to heal.

But sometimes, true healing begins outside four walls.

There's a moment in life when time doesn't move forward.

It just… stands still.

That's what happened when the monitor beeped no more.

After weeks of wired monitors and sleepless nights, the doctors finally gave a nod.

> "He's still weak… but stable enough to go home."

Those words meant celebration to others.

But for him, it meant round two.

His mother pulled him close. Whispered like a prayer:

> "Naa chinni… nuvvu poraaduthunnavu kada…"

"Gelicheyyi babu. Nuvvu gelichakane naaku asalaina jeevitham modhalu avuthundhi…"

["My little one… you're fighting, aren't you?"

"Win this battle, my baby. Only when you win… my true life will begin." ]

Wrapped in layers of soft cloth, his tiny body looked like a candle in a storm.

Every breath felt like a task, every movement like a mission.

The ambulance siren was silent this time, but inside that van — a silent storm raged.

Mother held him close, tighter than before. Her eyes still swollen from days of crying, but today — they shined with something new: fight.

They reached home.

No welcome balloons. No celebrations. Just cautious steps into a house that prayed for his life every second he was gone.

The moment his cradle touched the floor, a loud cry echoed.

But this time, it wasn't a cry of pain…

> It was his declaration.

"I'm here… and I'm not leaving so easily."

Every cry shook the walls.

Every sleepless night tested his parents.

But every second he survived — he proved something:

🩵 This battle wasn't over.

🩵 And he was born ready.

Fever. Cough. Breathlessness.

They returned like uninvited guests.

Doctors became monthly visitors. Injections became daily routine.

But amidst all this, he grew…

Not in size… but in strength.

The boy who wasn't supposed to live beyond a day —

was now fighting every minute, screaming with lungs once labelled too weak.

His mother once said:

> "Mee andariki veedu puttadam oka sandarbham.

Kaani naaku mathram veedu puttadam... oka poratam."

[ "For all of you, his birth is just an event.

But for me… his birth is a battle."]

This wasn't just survival.

This was the beginning of a legacy.
