Chapter 11 - The Feeling of Success

It had been a week since I fell off the platform, and now I can summon a flying disc beneath my feet with just a thought.

Of course, that wasn't the only thing I did. I thought even more, searched for other applications… and I think anyone who's read even one Xianxia novel knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Yes… an extra storage space—or, as gamers call it, an inventory space!

How did I create it?

By realizing I couldn't manipulate the outside world much, I turned inward. Suddenly, inspiration struck me. I built a space inside my body. It looked small from the outside, but it was vast within.

After several days of trial and error—and even enhancing my mind to visualize it more clearly—I finally succeeded. It's not huge, about two meters by three meters, but it's enough.

The interesting thing is, it seems only inanimate objects can be placed inside. Anything living resists as if it has its own will. Even if it's unconscious, the world itself helps prevent it from entering.

I guess that means, "Some things you just shouldn't do."

Thinking about this inventory space, my mind drifted to the gold inside the temple.

By focusing on that location, I managed to teleport right there, and… now I have a mountain of gold!

Pretty amazing, right?

Well, to be honest, a bit of greed from my past life still lingers in me. But let's be real: anyone in my shoes would've done the same, even knowing the gold would still be there later.

Now that I've unlocked three practical abilities, it's time to think what else I can do.

And then a thrilling idea crossed my mind:

Why not imbue my sword with spatial power?

I know many say it's easier with your hands, but let's admit it: it's way cooler with a sword. Just imagining spotting a pack of wolves, slicing through space samurai-style, heads flying and blood everywhere—it makes my blood boil!

Putting aside the theatrics, let's be realistic.

In this world, everything has an anti. Spatial power doesn't make me invincible—no one knows the depths of this world yet, and I certainly haven't reached my limits.

And more importantly: my power depends on this world.

So my primary focus must always be my core skills: body strength and swordsmanship are my foundation here, and I'll stick to them.

So back to training we go.

Sword training.

I switched from dual blades back to a single sword, because I feel more powerful with two hands on the hilt.

I looked at a tree by the shore, ready to test a strike, but I hesitated instantly.

A voice in my mind told me it would be disrespectful to my sword—just to see if I could split a tree in half… no, that's not the way.

Sword in hand, I settled on the classic routine:

A thousand downward strikes.

A thousand horizontal swings.

A thousand X-pattern cuts…

Alright, let's begin!

Simultaneously with this practice, I meditate to rest my mind and brain.

Weeks pass… and winter arrives.

I've grown stronger.

I think it's time to face the elders of this island.

Just the thought that it's finally time to reclaim my place at the top of this island's food chain makes my blood boil.

To be honest… if you've been paying attention, you might say I've gotten a bit too aggressive for a simple office worker.

But let me be clear: I've been fighting to survive on this island for six months.

If you still think I'm an ordinary person, you're sorely mistaken.

Remember that strange sound in the forest on the second night that sent me running?

Now I want to declare myself the strongest being on this island.

A rush of pride and honor fills me.

Maybe famous people who praised themselves once felt the same way.

Gazing at the forest, I place my hand on my waist, touch my sword's hilt…

I think about the battle to come.

And I have to say… I can't wait to see what happens next.

So, stay with me…
