Chapter 83: Kidnapping and Reaction
A Japanese man with a naturally sleazy air, whose face resembled a certain kindergarten principal, walked in from outside, followed by four or five Gunmen.
"Little girl, come with us. As long as your Boss agrees to our conditions, we won't hurt you!"
The Japanese man took a Gun from his Subordinates and pointed it at Skye.
Waving the Gun, he motioned for Skye to walk ahead.
Outside the Jewelry Store, a black Commercial Vehicle was parked at the Entrance. From a distance, they saw dozens of Gunmen blocking the Police Officer.
"We need to leave New York immediately!"
The Japanese man looked at Cross and said, "Our Allies are all cowards. They're willing to help us smuggle ourselves into New York, but they won't confront the enemy head-on!"
He was hired from Japan to come to New York, originally to assassinate Tang Song, but after staying in New York for more than ten days, he still hadn't found an opportunity.
Although he hadn't come into contact with Tang Song, through his observations over the past few days, he vaguely realized who The Hand had hired him to assassinate.
He could tell from the timid behavior of those gangs, and he could also see just how massive the Influence he was facing was.
If it weren't for the 20 million Japanese Yen Usurious Loan he owed at The Hand's Pachinko parlor, he would have run away long ago.
He thought about kidnapping Tang Song's woman and taking her back to Japan, which would count as giving The Hand something to show for it.
Some Local gangs who couldn't stand Boss Tang monopolizing things, two Assassins seeking revenge, and the Hitmen hired by The Hand, jointly planned this kidnapping.
"Wesley, you drive!"
Wesley made a hand signal, got into the Commercial Vehicle's driver's seat, stepped on the Accelerator, and instantly shot out.
The dozens of gang Gunmen blocking the Police Officer also retreated one after another.
Cross sat in the passenger Seat, constantly watching the Rearview mirror. "Do we need to be this careful? Even if they noticed, they couldn't possibly catch up to us this quickly!"
The Japanese man sat in the middle Seat, holding a double-decker hamburger in his hand, eating it in large bites, his words muffled.
The Commercial Vehicle weaved through the traffic like a nimble fish, drawing a chorus of curses.
Wesley's speed soared to 150 mph, quickly pulling away from the cars behind them.
"Slow down, wait for the people behind!"
Cross felt a wave of unease in his heart, constantly watching the Rearview mirror! His gaze sharpened, as a long, heavy red Container truck suddenly swerved across the lane behind them, cutting off their connection with the people behind.
The Container truck doors opened, and over a dozen Big men in black clothes extended their Guns from inside the vehicle. The Large-caliber shotguns in their hands roared furiously, aimed at the cars behind them.
"Go! Quickly!" Cross's expression changed drastically. Tang's people reacted too quickly.
Completely outside their Plan.
The red Truck blocked the main road, causing people in the lane to brake one after another, resulting in a Rear-End Collision involving over a dozen cars.
Many short-tempered drivers got out of their cars directly, cursing loudly, some even pulling out Guns.
On the other side, *clang*, the Container truck door opened downwards.
Over a dozen Big men in black clothes knelt inside the vehicle.
Assault Rifles, Military machine guns, aimed at the few cars that had been cut off behind them, unleashed a round of Spray Fire.
The Bullets roared furiously. Unless it was a specially made Bulletproof vehicle, basically no car could withstand that many Bullets.
Most of the Gunmen in the cars who were involved in the kidnapping were directly taken out by the assault, wiped out in one wave.
"Ah!"
The sudden Gunfire left many Car owners stunned. Some experienced Car owners immediately covered their heads and lay flat on the Ground, while others hid in their cars, not daring to get out.
Hill rolled sideways and crawled under an SUV.
With her rich combat experience, she knew that only the vehicle's undercarriage could provide good defense against Bullets, assuming, of course, that the Fuel tank wasn't unlucky enough to be shot and explode.
Hill lay under the car, cautiously not sticking her head out. She extended her Mobile Phone, turned on the Camera function, unsure if these Armed gunman were targeting her.
Hill was originally following the Director's orders to protect Pepper Potts.
Nick Fury's worst-case scenario was that if Tony truly died in Afghanistan, S.H.I.E.L.D. would directly take over Stark Industries by controlling Pepper Potts.
As the largest Major Shareholder besides Tony Stark, S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't want such a large sum of Assets to fall into other people's hands.
Additionally, Phil Coulson had been transferred to Afghanistan to cooperate with the Military in searching for Tony Stark's whereabouts.
The Matters of investigating Obadiah fell to Hill.
However, before she could reach Stark Tower, she encountered this sudden Gunfire.
"Soldiers!"
Hill watched the Gunmen's behavior through the Camera. Their Rate of fire and Reloading sequence were as standard as a textbook.
Fire Suppression, One-handed reload.
Ruthless, steady. Only Soldiers who had truly experienced war on the Battlefield possessed such qualities.
Mercenaries?! Who is their target?
Hill saw that her car hadn't been shot at.
Instead, several Commercial Vehicles were subjected to Focus fire. She couldn't help but turn to look at the targets being shot.
"Boom!"
From a Commercial Vehicle riddled with Pits from Bullets, a Car Door was kicked open from the inside. A Black Strong Man stepped out, shaking his head.
The moment his feet touched the Ground, he transformed into a Mud giant over three meters tall!
*Thud thud thud!* Bullets hit him, sending up dust and creating Pits, but the damage seemed minimal.
The giant covered his face with his hands and charged towards the Truck.
The cars blocking the way along the route were directly knocked aside by him like toy blocks.
"Mutant?" Hill's expression turned serious. She tapped her Mobile Phone twice, transmitting the footage in real-time to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Intranet. Agents with a level 6 clearance or higher could view it.
At the same time, she activated her positioning system.
Generally, level 6 Agents were considered High-level Staff within S.H.I.E.L.D. The existence of ordinary Superhumans was no secret to Agents of this level!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Intranet
The real-time Video being played attracted the attention of many High-level Staff.
Agents who weren't currently on a Mission opened the Video one after another.
The three-meter-tall Mud giant charged towards the Truck like a small mountain, shaking the Ground as he ran.
Even watching the Video, many Agents' expressions changed.
"Which team is closest to the location? Go provide support. Notify the New York Police Department (NYPD) and tell them to hurry there!"
Hill issued commands through the communication channel, "Search the Database for information on the Combatants!"
*Tat tat tat tat tat tat!*
The Big men in black on the box Truck showed no fear despite the Mud giant's size and Strength. The Gunfire didn't stop. They reloaded in an orderly fashion, targeting the Mud giant's heart, groin, and face for Weak point probing fire.
"Face!"
A Big man in black made a Tactical hand signal, and over a dozen Guns were aimed at the Mud giant's protected face, firing.
The dense firing forced the Mud giant to raise his other arm as well, protecting his face.
"Hand Grenades!"
Over a dozen Hand Grenades were thrown at the Mud giant's feet amidst the Gunfire.
*Boom!* The entire Mud giant was blown into the air. When he landed on the Ground, only his upper body remained.
*Tat tat tat tat tat tat—*
A round of Focus fire, and the Mud giant, who was wailing on the Ground, immediately fell silent.
This squad belonged to Kane's direct Elites. They were originally executing Kane's cleanup Plan nearby.
Lane's emergency Mission order was issued, and they directly intercepted this group of Kidnappers.
Frankly, this Elite combat squad didn't pay much mind to these Mutants who relied on their Innate ability, even though they weren't carrying Heavy Weapons.
"Trying to run!"
*Tat tat tat!*
The many Big men in black simultaneously raised their Guns, quickly aimed in one direction, and Pulled the trigger.
Blood splattered everywhere. In the air, a Ninja in black was forced to reveal his figure, directly shot into a bleeding, tattered mess.
"Elites!"
This was the evaluation of all the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents watching the Video! A squad of over a dozen people ambushing dozens of Gunmen, including a Mutant – even S.H.I.E.L.D. only had a few Special Operations Teams capable of that.
"Sir, the Identification data is out. He's a lone wolf Mercenary, Codename Mud Giant! A Level 3 Mutant, involved in multiple Terrorist attacks!"
"These Armed gunman are from the former German Dark Demon Special Forces. They are Retired and currently Employed at Tang Security Company!"
An Agent transmitted the identification information to Hill's Mobile Phone.
Mutants, Security Companies... Maria Hill watched the Video, somewhat confused about what was happening. How did these two types of people end up together, Fighting?
...…
The dense Gunfire and Explosion Sounds were audible to anyone who wasn't deaf.
Wesley wasn't stupid. Without needing his cheap old man to urge him, he immediately stepped on the Accelerator all the way! One fifty, one seventy, one ninety... the speed got faster and faster, until there wasn't a single person on the Highway ahead.
The black Commercial Vehicle was practically flying across the Ground, weaving through the traffic like a needle threading through cloth.
"Stop!"
At the Intersection, the area ahead was like a Dividing line; there wasn't a single car on the opposite side! Yes, the vast Second Avenue in New York was completely silent, no cars, no people. Directly in front of them, six black Mercedes-Benz Cars were parked side-by-side in the Center of the road! "Turn around!"
Cross looked at the scene opposite them and said to Wesley.
Wesley's palms were sweating. He quickly spun the Steering Wheel, and the Tires left a black Skid mark on the Ground.
*Beep beep beep—*
Amidst a series of frantic Horn sounds, Wesley resolutely stepped on the Accelerator, Going against the flow.
Amidst the sounds of angry curses, Wesley's Pupils contracted.
*Screech!* An Emergency stop, the entire Commercial Vehicle performed a Drift, turning sideways.
On the road they had come from, the Street that had been bustling with traffic was now empty of cars. Discarded Flyers danced in the wind.
*Tat tat tat tat tat tat*
Two large Trucks faced each other, completely blocking the road. In the Center of the road, dozens of Armed soldier in black Combat uniforms held Assault Rifles, pointing them at them from a distance.
On all four windows of the Commercial Vehicle, dense red dots were Aiming from the Tall buildings on both sides.
Snipers! "Get out of the car!"
Kane walked out from the crowd, carrying an extended Grenade launcher. *Click-clack*, Chambering a round,
He immediately Pulled the trigger, and a Grenade blast turned a red Camry parked behind the Commercial Vehicle into Scrap metal.
"Go, get out of the car!"
Cross watched this scene, gritted his teeth, turned back, raised a Handgun in his hand, and aimed it at Skye's head.
The Car Door was pulled open. Skye walked ahead, followed by Cross and Wesley, the Guns in their hands aimed at the back of Skye's head.
