Chapter 290: Odin? Fatty?
It was enveloped in scorching white lightning, its wings stirring up a massive storm, repeatedly traversing the battlefield, turning the dense Angel Army in the sky into fallen leaves tossed about by the gale, which were then reduced to nothingness by the lightning surrounding King Ghidorah.
At times, it would dive low over the battlefield, its enormous sonic boom instantly causing indiscriminate damage across the entire battlefield.
Although it deliberately avoided the faction of the Nine Realms during its flight, many Asgardian Soldier were still shaken to their knees by the tremendous sonic boom, bloodstains seeping from their ears.
Three scorching white, high-intensity light beams of lightning sprayed from its three heads. As it flapped its wings, it plowed through the Angelic Legion on the ground. In just a moment, no fewer than a hundred thousand Angel had died by its hand.
Ancient Titans, in ancient times, were worshipped by humanity and given the name of Gods. Although King Ghidorah was not a guardian Titan of Earth, it was the only being capable of competing with Godzilla, the King of the Titans.
Its appearance directly turned the tide of the battlefield under Yggdrasil.
"Is this Space Beast a helper for Asgard?"
A Frost Giant holding a spiked club smashed an Angel away with a hammer, his gaze fixed on King Ghidorah in the sky, shrouded in clouds and gale. Its immense body size, the gale and lightning stirred up by its flapping wings, made his heart tremble.
"Pass down the order! Tell our people to raise their spirit!" The Frost Giant leader pulled a Subordinate over and said this, then muttered to himself, "It seems His Majesty Laufey was right, Asgard's foundation is still there!"
"Roar!"
Just then, the Frost Giant leader suddenly heard a tiger roar coming from behind him. He spun around abruptly.
A vast, overwhelming black wind swept over from behind him. The black wind condensed into a Black Tiger hundreds of meters tall. With a single gulp from its mouth, the Angel who had passed through the Frost Giant defense line were all swept into the wind.
Behind this Black Tiger condensed from black wind, tens of thousands of Light Elves pushed the battle line back to the edge of Yggdrasil and raised their bows in unison.
"Buzz!"
"Swish!"
A dense arrow rain of gold once again appeared on the battlefield.
"Roar! Warrior of Asgard, counterattack with me!"
Thor, with scraped bloodstains on his face, didn't care where the reinforcements came from. Seeing two fierce beasts appear on the battlefield, disrupting the Angelic Legion's attack rhythm, he was excited.
He tore off the cloak from his back, swung Mjolnir, and flew up, as if pulling countless bolts of lightning from the horizon, smashing towards the countless Angel Army arrayed before Heaven's Gate.
Thor was clearly attempting a solo charge into the formation of the millions-strong Angel Army.
"Oh, my foolish Brother, is your head made entirely of muscle?"
A certain Prince wearing an antler helmet covered his face, unable to bear watching.
A barely concealed wicked smile spread across his face: "If you die on the battlefield, the Throne of Asgard will be mine!"
"Prince Thor is truly a fierce General. He dares to charge into a formation of millions. In terms of courage, I think no one in the Nine Realms can compare!"
Looking at the situation on the battlefield before Yggdrasil, Tang Song looked at Odin with a face full of admiration, as if he hadn't noticed King Odin's somewhat darkened complexion.
Slaying generals and capturing flags, charging formations – those are things done by General, by Brute. What Odin wanted was a King, a King who could succeed him and rule the Nine Realms after he entered Ragnarök.
Odin sighed in his heart, placing the golden cup in his hand on the table. Although Thor was not a qualified heir, he had no other choice now.
Whoosh, a Raven with black feathers and golden eyes flew up from a corner of the Golden Palace's eaves, traversing the sky of Asgard, and soon landed in a cluster of Asgardian architecture.
The strong scent of wine made the Raven let out a cawing sound. It flapped its wings and quickly found a drunk, collapsed Fatty among a pile of oak barrels.
"His Highness Thor! The God King needs you!"
The Raven landed on the Fatty's belly and pecked at his belly incessantly with its sharp beak. The stinging sensation finally woke the drunk and dreaming Fatty from his thunderous snoring.
He rubbed his eyes: "Is it time to pick grapes again? Hmm, I want three barrels of wine this time!"
Thor leaned against an oak barrel and sat up. First, he stared straight at the familiar sky of Asgard, his eyes filled with nostalgia and reluctant greed.
In his Universe, Asgard had turned into the ash of the Universe along with the Sword of the Balrog.
He had become a person without a home, having lost his Mother, Brother, Father, and his country.
This was also the reason he stayed in Asgard.
He didn't want his tragedy to repeat in this Universe.
The stinging on his belly cleared Thor's dazed mind. He looked down at Muninn the Raven on his belly.
"Little guy, what's the matter?"
"Caw caw! Thor, by age, you should call me Uncle!" The Raven tilted its head slightly, dissatisfied, its golden eyes full of disdain.
Thor directly reached out and rubbed the Raven's feathers, which angered the Raven into giving him a hard peck on the Palm of his hand.
"The God King needs you, something happened to Thor, no, something happened to you," the Raven shook its head, feeling its mind was a bit confused.
However, Thor understood what the Raven was trying to convey: the him of this Universe was in trouble! He looked up at the horizon, at the massive Yggdrasil that spanned the Universe, a sight he couldn't see in his Universe. It made him sigh at the strength of this Universe.
The Pym Particles and those magical magic weapons Star-Lord and Ant-Man took back should help them find that quantum entanglement Universe! Thor stood up, reached out a hand into the sky, and a Stormbreaker appeared in his hand with the sound of wind and thunder tearing through the air.
Thor, carrying Stormbreaker, was about to walk towards the Rainbow Bridge / Bifrost, but after a few steps, he stopped and stroked his face under his beard.
He turned his head and said to the Raven, "Little guy, find me a set of armor, one that covers the face!"
The Raven flew to the top of his head and gave his head a hard peck: "Call me Uncle, wait here."
Thor tightened his grip on the controller of Mjolnir. Lightning flashed on the other side of Mjolnir. He pulled a great net made of lightning, hundreds of meters wide, directly down onto the Angel Army formation before Heaven's Gate.
Thor landed on one knee, and the hundreds of meters wide lightning net instantly scattered thousands of Angel around him.
"Birdmen, come on!"
Thor rose, gripping Mjolnir. Looking around, he saw a vast expanse of white, surrounded entirely by Angel with hostile gazes. A crowd of Two-winged Angel, Four-winged Angel, and Six-winged Angel all directed cold, emotionless gazes at him. Only the sound of flapping wings and the distant sounds of battle from the battlefield could be heard, the atmosphere terrifyingly silent.
Thor, trapped in the encirclement, was not flustered in the slightest. His Younger Brother was right; at this moment, the word Brute could not fully describe Thor. Thor, whose head was entirely muscle, had no idea what fear was at this moment.
He swung Mjolnir, flew up, and delivered a critical hit to the head of a Six-winged Angel. This Six-winged Angel, facing the surging lightning power brought by Mjolnir in Thor's hand, could only hastily raise his sword horizontally across his chest and loudly roared: "Almighty God, please grant me strength!"
Intense white light fell from Heaven's Gate high in the sky, instantly entering his body.
The Angel's body rapidly expanded. Intense white light continuously spread from inside him. The three pairs of wings on his back flashed with materialized white light; that was powerful holy power that was almost tangible.
"Clang!"
Mjolnir heavily smashed onto the Six-winged Angel's sword.
A powerful shockwave instantly impacted outwards. The surrounding Angel were directly thrown away by the shockwave, colliding with those in the formation, causing countless Angel to roll into a heap.
The entire Angelic Legion, which had been standing upright, was centered around the point of conflict between Thor and the Six-winged Angel. The shockwave from their clash directly created a circular crop circle thousands of meters wide, but what was flattened were no longer plants like corn or wheat, but the lower-ranking Angel who had been blown away.
And the Six-winged Angel who had taken Thor's hammer blow head-on still had a look of devout prayer on his face. The regrouped Angel flapped their wings, the sound of wind created by their flapping wings blowing past.
"Whoosh," this Six-winged Angel, along with his armor and cruciform sword, turned into ash and was blown away by the wind without a trace.
Thor's attack action instantly enraged the surrounding Angelic Legion. Countless Angel swarmed towards Thor.
Thor, swinging Mjolnir, laughed wildly. With a sweep of Mjolnir, over a hundred Two-winged and Four-winged Angel who rushed forward were instantly reduced to nothingness under his hammer.
However, further away, countless Angel simultaneously made the sign of the cross and unleashed holy light flame towards Thor. Thor swung Mjolnir with all his strength, drawing upon infinite lightning power, but thousands of Angel with six or more wings joined forces and began to Pray.
"Almighty God... Sinners, receive your punishment!"
Gate of Heaven high in the sky emitted ten thousand rays of holy light.
The holy light and sacred flame drawn forth collided with the lightning power drawn forth by Mjolnir, this divine artifact. Thor grunted, blood spraying from all seven orifices simultaneously.
Thor, his head dizzy and a taste of rust in his mouth, was directly forced to his knees by this powerful impact. He could faintly hear the familiar roar from the distance, belonging to the Berserker.
A dull sound came from the battlefield. Tens of thousands of Berserker, clad in leather armor and wielding great axes, charged wildly across the battlefield, savagely destroying everything in their path.
To rescue their Prince, they had all entered a berserker state, advancing extremely quickly, and soon engaged in close combat with the Angelic Legion before Gate of Heaven.
"Thor needs us!"
A female warrior with long gold hair, holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other, looked at the dense Angel Army blocking her path and said anxiously to the Big Beard Warrior standing back-to-back with her.
"Sif! I know that, but we have to find a method to take down these guys blocking the way first!"
Big Beard swung his great axe, delivering an upward diagonal slash that cut an Angel in half at the waist.
"Thor charged too far ahead, we need to find a method to rendezvous with him!" Sif raised her shield to block a sword light swung by an Angel, then slashed with her sword. The shockwave from the magic weapon cut off the Four-winged Angel's wings.
"I wish I could fly right now!" Big Beard exclaimed while charging forward relying on his brute strength.
"Mate! The Spaceship is here!"
Just then, a Dwarf Airship flew over from behind. At the bow of the airship, an Asgardian Warrior, while hacking at the Angel in front, blew a sharp whistle, signaling to Sif and the others.
The airship avoided a group of attacking Angel and dove down at low altitude. Sif, Big Beard, and four or five Asgardian Berserker leaped aboard.
"Hogun, how are you so timely this time?" Big Beard looked at the Warrior standing at the bow with some surprise.
The Warrior hesitated and looked behind him: "This airship was obtained by His Highness Loki from the Dwarves!"
At this point, the crowd who had jumped into the airship finally noticed Loki inside. Loki, wearing his antler helmet, held his head high like an Angel, looking proudly at the distant Angel, not even glancing at the others.
"Speed up! Get that idiot before my magic disappears!" Loki shouted at the Dwarf steering the airship.
Perhaps due to King Ghidorah's rampage earlier, the number of Angel daring to fly freely at high altitude was not many at this time. The remaining ones seemed to be disrupted by the illusion magic Loki had cast, completely unaware of the continuously charging airship.
Hill and the others looked down from the high vantage point with worry.
Looking down from high altitude, the Angel Army from the Heaven Dimension surrounded Thor from countless Direction. He was like a black dot, surrounded by countless white light.
Hill watched with her own eyes as Thor fell heavily to the ground again and again, only to get back up swinging Mjolnir. He swung Mjolnir, wanting to fly.
Countless Angel, however, blocked his way above his head. At this time, Thor seemed like a trapped beast in a white cage, letting out a desperate roar.
Hill watched from the airship, her heart aching, gripping the airship's body tightly, wishing she could jump down and fight alongside Thor.
The airship gradually approached Gate of Heaven. What Loki didn't notice was that as the holy light from Gate of Heaven shone down, the invisibility magic he had cast on the airship was slowly losing its effect.
By the time he realized it, a Six-winged Angel had already led thousands of Four-winged Angel to surround them.
The Six-winged Angel held high the white holy light gathered through prayer and shot a thick holy light pillar at the charging airship.
The airship was instantly shattered in the holy light. Loki, Sif, and the others on the airship had no time to react and fell directly towards the center of the dense Angelic Legion below.
At low altitude, tens of thousands of Angel flapped their wings and rose up, killing towards the group.
In mid-air, thousands of Angel held their holy swords high, flapped their wings, and directly slashed at these falling Warrior.
Hill looked down at Thor, who was trapped in the encirclement, with despair, and gripped the longsword in her hand, facing the countless Angel about to pounce on her.
Just then, in the sky, the white sky illuminated by holy light suddenly became covered in dark clouds. Thunder roared in the clouds, and thick bolts of lightning shot out from deep within the cloud mass, enveloping the thousands of Angel in mid-air who were planning to intercept Loki and Sif and the others.
Thousands of Angel, including the Six-winged Angel who held the holy light high, all turned into charred corpses in the lightning.
"King Odin! You finally made a move yourself!" Gabriel stood before Gate of Heaven, his Foot quietly moving back several miles.
Michael's experience reminded him that being under Gate of Heaven was not necessarily one hundred percent safety.
"I knew you couldn't resist. With this move, the time you enter Ragnarök will probably be brought forward!"
Gabriel looked at the figure in the clouds with a mix of anticipation and fear. As a figure in the clouds, wrapped in gale and lightning, caught Sif and the others, revealing its true form.
Gabriel's mouth was wide enough to fit a goose egg. "Could it be that the food in Asgard is so good now, that Odin, living a life of ease, has become a Fatty!" He looked in disbelief at the obese figure whose belly could not be hidden by his armor.
