Chapter 14 - Monster World 14

The next moment, the giant fish rushed straight towards the shore!

Under its massive body, there were four thick, powerful legs!

"My god!" Zhou Yuan felt his fragile heart shaken by the terrifying sight. The fish's tail flicked, and he quickly ran away.

Lin Yebai, with his outstanding lightness skill, took a few swift leaps and was already dozens of meters away.

Coach Wang, with all eight of his legs moving at full speed, dashed forward with incredible agility.

The little spiders remained in the car, still safe for the moment.

"Split up! We'll regroup at the park!" Zhou Yuan shouted loudly.

In fact, before he even finished speaking, Lin Yebai and Coach Wang had already chosen different directions.

The giant fish's dead white eyes turned, and it ultimately chose to chase Lin Yebai.

It instinctively felt that devouring this little snack would yield the greatest reward.

[Ordinary Me]: "New bizarre species encountered♂"

[Mistaken in the Melon Field]: "I didn't expect the fish to grow legs!"

[Beautiful Life]: "What does fish leg taste like?"

[God of Gods]: "Little Bai might know."

[Soft Cat Ears]: "Cubs, run faster!"

The giant fish, which was over ten meters long, was originally a red-and-white koi. Now, its red scales were unnaturally bright and the white scales dull and murky. Sharp spikes had grown along its back, and its mouth was full of jagged teeth, exuding an ominous, aggressive air.

Luckily, the entire livestream had this odd visual style. With Coach Wang, who had eight legs, and Zhou Yuan, who had a snake-like head, both delivering intense visual shock, no one was too surprised.

After waking up, Lin Yebai didn't feel much physical change but began to think of how to deal with the giant fish behind him.

Compared to the giant fish's enormous body, his bone blade was still shorter than the fish's fangs.

The giant fish opened its massive mouth and suddenly snapped at him—

"Crack—"

Lin Yebai narrowly dodged as the fish's upper teeth clashed against its lower jaw, making a sound of frustration.

After several such attempts, the fish's eyes began to turn red, locked onto Lin Yebai. It had to eat this little snack today!

Perhaps it hadn't fully adapted to life on land, and though its four powerful legs could support its weight, the prolonged lack of water made it foam at the mouth, gasping for breath.

Lin Yebai didn't increase the distance too much, moving slowly and deliberately avoiding each of the fish's lunges.

Gradually, Lin Yebai started to search for obstacles, leading the fish into them on purpose.

Being large, with eyes positioned on either side of its head, it couldn't dodge in time even if it saw an obstacle ahead.

It crashed through several trees and snapped a row of streetlight poles.

Its scales were so tough that the minor injuries from these obstacles were negligible.

The giant fish seemed to take pleasure in the destruction, crashing into anything in its way.

Lin Yebai looked ahead at the sign with bold red letters:

"High Voltage, Danger!"

Without hesitation, he led the giant fish straight toward the high-voltage station that was flashing with electrical sparks.

Before the fish could crash into it, he swiftly turned and kept a safe distance.

In the fish's eyes, this was just the futile struggle of a small snack.

It swiped its tail and crashed into the high-voltage station, causing the electric wires to coil around it. Numerous parts flew off in all directions, and sparks flew as the fish collapsed, twitching violently.

Lin Yebai watched from a distance, still feeling a little shaken.

So this is what electricity feels like. It's definitely dangerous.

Experiencing this painful event for the first time, the giant fish's eyes turned white, and it lay on its back, on the verge of life and death.

Once the electric sparks faded, the fish emitted an irresistible, savory aroma.

Its tail twitched faintly, still alive but barely.

[Super Rich Orange Seat]: Narrowing its eyes, licking its claws, and giving a wicked smile: "Such an irresistible body!"

[Lord of the Abyss]: Frowning, coldly speaking: "Are you trying to copy me?"

[Super Rich Orange Seat]: Flicking its tail coldly, a flash of cold light in its eyes: "Are you teaching me how to act?"

[Grilled Dragon of the Abyss]: "Where can I find a fish with four legs?"

[Emperor Hua Ji]: "An alligator?"

[Nanhai Crocodile King]: "Don't lay a hand on my descendants. The moment I give the order, billions of troops will level your world."

[Grilled Dragon of the Abyss]: "I'm coming."

[Nanhai Crocodile King]: "How is that even possible?"

Lin Yebai seemed to glance at the interesting events happening in the distant world through the livestream. Soon, he lost interest in the comments. A group of black crows, drawn by the aroma, flew toward the giant fish.

Once the electric sparks fully dissipated and seeing the crows unscathed, Lin Yebai approached the fish's head, stabbing his bone blade into one of its eyes. When he pulled it out, it was slightly difficult, and he had to stab several more times before receiving the system's notification.

[Points +500]

This time, the giant fish didn't drop any [Attribute Cards]. Lin Yebai cut off its head and spent a long time searching inside to find a blood bead.

The blood bead was about the size of a fist, somewhat heavy, and its dense blood energy almost spilled out. A feeling of hunger surged within Lin Yebai, as though this blood bead could be a source of sustenance, but at the same time, his body rejected it, considering it beneath his dignity. He had never felt this way before the mark appeared.

As he continued on, Lin Yebai had already left the central park and was standing on a wide street. Alongside it were rows of identical commercial buildings, creating a disorienting sense of confusion.

There were at least hundreds of crows, their black bodies sitting on the giant fish, their sizes two to three times larger than regular crows. Their beaks were particularly sharp, quickly breaking open the tough scales of the fish and feasting.

Lin Yebai sliced off a large chunk of the fish's flesh. The crows didn't try to fight him for it. Both parties seemed to respect each other's territory.

[Iron Fist Diviner]: "I can tell, Little Bai is lost."

[Master of the Magic Staff]: "Amitabha, it's hard to find your way in this world."

[Literary Teacher]: "Some people seem transcendent, but once they let their guard down, they easily get lost."

Lin Yebai could easily follow the trail left by the giant fish to find his way back, but he felt it would be a waste to leave the fish meat behind.

He looked at the lead crow, which had golden eyes. Among the black-eyed crows, it was particularly striking.

"Can you hold onto this for me? I'll share the next prey with you," Lin Yebai tried to communicate with it.

The golden-eyed crow showed a human-like expression of thought. It then looked at the mark on Lin Yebai's forehead and nodded.

It chirped at a small crow nearby. After the little crow hesitantly took a large bite of fish, it swallowed hard and flew off.

The small crow, too full, flew erratically, wobbling through the air as it got further and further away.

The golden-eyed crow seemed to be annoyed, giving Lin Yebai a look that said "wait a moment."

[Flourishing Flowers]: "Is this what they call eye contact communication?"

[I'm a Little Green Dragon]: "Coach, I want to learn too."

[Big White Rabbit Milk Candy]: "What's the little crow doing? I'm curious."

[Peanut Oil by Lu Hua]: "Getting the take-out box."

"You're human?"

A long-legged man appeared from the other side of the street. He was gaunt, with a plain face, sharp, cold eyes that gave an uncomfortable feeling when looked at from above.

He had been watching for a while, since the fish was shocked by the electricity.

This sickly-looking young man was agile and quick-witted, with a hint of cleverness. Although he hadn't yet mutated, it seemed only a matter of time.

The long-legged man spoke flatly, with a tone of condescension:

"Someone like you, with this talent, should join our 'World's Best Leather Factory.'"

"What factory?" Lin Yebai suddenly felt the name was familiar.

"The World's Best Leather Factory." The long-legged man repeated.

"I don't understand." Lin Yebai remembered the fang mutant he had slain before. The dropped card had the words "World's Best Leather Factory" on it. What kind of factory was that? What terrifying entity could call itself the world's best?

"Are you challenging me?" The long-legged man's expression turned cold, a sneer forming.

"You better not be ungrateful. If you don't agree, then I'll…"

"What will you do?" A clear voice suddenly interrupted. Song Yao, wearing sunglasses and a mask, had parked his car nearby.

The crisp sound of firearms being chambered echoed from the car, and all the barrels were aimed directly at the long-legged man, locking onto his head and heart.

"I'll apologize and leave immediately." The long-legged man's attitude shifted abruptly, his smile turning warm as he bowed to Lin Ye Bai in apology.

"Zhang San, I hear you're organizing a rescue mission? We suspect your procedures are not up to standard. Come with us." Song Yao waved his hand, and several men from the car emerged, handcuffs in hand, heading straight for Zhang San.

"The times have changed. Trying to bind me, Zhang San, with old laws? That's impossible! If I want to rescue, I'll rescue. If I want to rob, I'll rob. If it comes down to a life-or-death showdown, I might die, but none of you are guaranteed to make it out alive either."

Zhang San grinned arrogantly, his gaze sweeping across the throats of the others before settling on Lin Ye Bai, who received an enigmatic smile.

Anyone who met his eyes instantly felt like they were being watched by some terrifying beast, a sense of dread creeping up involuntarily.

Lin Ye Bai also focused on Zhang San's neck, mentally calculating that this target was worth 500 points. He needed to figure out how to take it down.

"Come on, cuff me. Take me away, and let's see who dares to."

Zhang San approached, his face full of provocation, extending his hands and signaling for others to handcuff him.

The raven flock, having finished their meal, perched on nearby dry branches, observing the spectacle with quiet attention.

Song Yao, however, was far from confident facing Zhang San.

Zhang San was far stronger than other mutants. He was a mid-level mutant, much more difficult to deal with than the rat king. Every surviving human was incredibly valuable now—losing any one of them would be a major blow.

"Damn it! I can't stand pretentious people!"

A voice, neither entirely masculine nor feminine, full of anger and an oddly seductive tone, called out from behind.

At the same time, a large stone was thrown from behind and slammed directly at Zhang San's skull.

Although Zhang San managed to dodge it, his fury only grew.

Then, he turned and saw a stunningly beautiful green-haired girl, her body ending in a serpent's tail.

Something deep inside Zhang San was immediately struck.
