Chapter 6 - Chapter Six: Crazy Workplace Tension

Levi stared down at this woman, his height imposing her, his eyebrow raised as his fingers brushed the back of his head, "Umm, can I help you?" he asked, unsure of who the woman was, almost like his memory was blank.

This angered the woman, her brows knitted, "Bloody hell... are you kidding me?" she said, annoyed by Levi's lack of memory, "After I received such a painful anal shot from you, you decide to forget me?!"

Levi stepped back slightly, taken aback by this crazy woman's shouts, "Hey, you're being too loud, you're going to spike the Neighbours, "he warned.

"Too loud?" the woman asked, demanding a confirmation, only to be met with silence, "Inconceivable! it seems you want me to leak the video."

Video?... What video? Levi thought for a second, then it finally hit him like a stray arrow. This woman was Aubrey Smith, the faceless and elegant poet, at least everybody thought was, because Levi thought otherwise; he remembered reading one of the poems she had written online, though the intensity of the erotic themes were too much for the young man to process.

Seeing the look of realization on Levi's face, Aubrey smiled, her arms folded, "It seems that you've come to your senses, young man," she said, sounding more like a grandmother than a young woman who was barely the young man's age.

She was indeed the youngest out of the five, being only twenty years of age, which she had turned two days earlier.

Levi bowed slightly, "I'm sorry," he said, chuckling as he tried to dodge the problems laid out for him, "I didn't recognize you, I promise it won't happen again."

Aubrey felt a wave of power on her shoulders, feeling proud as Levi had fallen to her mercy, according to her at least, but all the young man wanted to do was escape her.

Now that the storm had died down, Levi had seen this as an opportunity to escape this woman. "Well, I'll see you around," he said, turning and walking away as fast as he could. But as he reached a safe point, he noticed that someone followed behind him, their footsteps clicking.

"Hey!" a voice said from behind, forcing Levi to turn, only to be greeted with the same face. Aubrey Smith stood before him, her hands behind her back, a smile on her face, then she released her left hand.

"I'll be seeing you tonight," she muttered, a condom in her hand which she used to wave at him. Levi could not show any form of disgust, smiling awkwardly, but of course, a part of him showed that he loved the attention; he couldn't wait till he destroyed her cervix.

——

3801 N W 21St Street #171, Miami / Time: 11:34 AM / Monday, 14th July 2025.

Panting heavily, his breath ragged and his tone hoarse, Levi hurriedly made his way to the city's bus station, slightly drenched in sweat after sprinting for a long time. He stopped to catch his breath, seeing that time was still on his side, checking his wristwatch, "Good, there's... still time," he muttered, still panting as he ignored the glances from every passerby he came across.

The city of Miami was quite syndicate today than usual, something which was quite odd as the city was full of life on Monday mornings. Levi, who awaited the bus with every other working-class citizen, glanced round, wondering where the rest had gone.

In that instant, the sounds of sirens echoed as an ambulance swept past at full speed, ignoring the traffic lights, though this didn't bother Levi as ambulances were allowed to move freely. What bothered him was the fact that the area was quiet, and an ambulance passed them. Before he could think of what had happened, his mind and thoughts linking together, police cars followed, going at full speed.

This was not only shocking to Levi but to everyone around him. Did somebody die? Or rather, how many persons had died? Besides, Miami was a place filled with crime bosses and drug lords who could waste anybody just to accomplish their dirty goals. Prostitutes were the main victims, but business still boomed like always.

Though the signs were clear, something about today seemed unclear to him, and Levi was sure he didn't want to get involved in such a mess. As the echoes of whispers and concern died down, the bus had arrived prompting the workers and college students to move as soon as possible, rushing their way into the entrance of the bus.

Levi followed, making sure he wasn't left out, and after a five-minute wait that seemed like an hour, the journey to work had begun.

After a long and uncomfortable drive through Miami streets, the bus crowded with different people from differing in various works of life Levi arrived before his work building. Jon-Corp Institute stood tall, the glass reflecting the blue sky and the clouds with every bird that soared through.

Levi stepped down from the large vehicle, breathing in the fresh, Miami air and the scent of fried snacks from the local food truck right next to the office building. Working as the technician of the company, Levi did quite well for himself, with the help of Mr. Johnson's trust as well, he performed exceptionally, but there was always one problem and that was working close to Jennifer who shared the same job as well.

Taking in deep breaths, Levi readied himself, a black folder bag in his hand as he walked into the building neatly dressed in his casual attire, a plain, white tee with jean pants and an addition of simple, brown loafers. Jon-Corp consisted of five floors, each holding different workers all present for the same goal: the selling of stocks. The sole exception was the last floor, where the secretary, Maxine Delgado, stood.

Levi had always felt uncomfortable whenever he crossed paths with that woman, she was often flirty, but in a way that threw him off. He remembered hearing her moans as she called his name in a bathroom stall, and the sound of squelching, possibly fingering herself, and what terrified him more was the fact that she called his name after every moan.

That day was just his first time, and he was already encountering crazy co-workers. Levi usually avoided that particular stall after that day, still confused as to how she was able to infiltrate the men's restroom.

As he passed the secretary post, he couldn't help the fact that he was being watched by those ocean blue eyes, glancing into his soul and probably in-between his legs, "Good morning, Mr. Quinn," the woman said, waving in a rather—flirtatious manner as she bit her lip.

Levi awkwardly nodded before walking into the elevator that led to his office, letting out a sigh of relief as if he had dodged a potential bullet.

The elevator ride felt like it could last for minutes but before he knew it, the door opened up and before him was the last person he never wished to see. Levi's eyes widened as though it was the first time he had seen this person.

"It's you," he muttered, his body shaking as cold sweat dropped from his temples.

In that moment, every bad memory had rushed into his thoughts as this single person just appeared before him.
