Chapter 11 - Melody

Reah raced to the mansion, she knew her plan had failed Jay protected Carly from what would have being an unavoidable accident.

"This is not right." She panted and ran as the mob ran past her still searching for the criminal.

Reah used the back door to enter into the mansion as she tried to sneak past the kitchen the maid caught her.

"Madam, where are you coming from. Is there a door over there?. I have never seen sir use this place before." The maid her neck stretched forward like an ostrich.

"Will you stop snooping around and go to the kitchen I am sure the other maid is with grandma, I have no idea what your use is here."

Reah stood making sure that the maid returned back to the kitchen before heading upstairs.

The curiousity of the maid had already being stirred but she decided to wait until Jays wife returned.

Reah changed but felt extremely restless, she decided to check on her grandmother. Reah wanted to próove to everyone that she can also be as caring as Carly.

As Reah knocked on her grandmother's door, she overheard her grandmother speaking to her self.

Reah paused to listen to her words.

"For the first time you saved me Melody. You saved me from my own predicament. Now I am sure that this family will always be safe."

Reah frowned she needed to take Melody's spirit quickly before she becomes a problem.

Reah was a 43 year old woman, who did not believe in love or in marriage until she met Harry.

Harry was the first man she fell in love with.

Harry turned her down, but she was hell bent on getting him to love her no matter what.

Reah would rather die than watch him get married to someone else.

Reah opened the door.

"Grandma, how are you feeling. Was Lucy not supposed to watch you?."

Reah looked at the maid in the room and she left feeling scared.

"Lucy ran off to drink water and never returned."

Reah laughed, Lucy must have ran off due to her laziness.

Grandma Susan kept on smiling and wondering about what Carly and Jays date would be.

Meanwhile Lucy was trapped in the dark, not knowing which way to go.

Carly used this opportunity to run off to the stranger who spoke about her father.

Carly placed her card before the man and ran off to Jay.

Suddenly the lights came back on.

Melody has taken Lucy outside. As she stared at her she remembered all she endured.

Flashback.

# " Jay is mine and will always be mine there is no one more fit for Jay than I am."

Melody exhaled heavily and hit Lucy several times, Lucy was in a daze and stars flashed before her eyes.

"Let me go or I will report you to Reah." Lucy threatened.

Melody laughed, she was no longer the timid one Lucy used to know.

Melody took Lucy to the park and laid her down. She slept unconscious on the grass.

"Now I have to return to Carly." Melody said as she left.

Melody watched the couple from a distance as she saw Jay moving slowly towards Carly , there lips almost touching.

Melody felt the pain in her heart, her husband was moving on. She was supposed to be happy for him. If she was not happy how would she cross over to the after life.

Still her emotions betrayed her, the lights flickered as the tears slowly fell from her eyes.

In the twinkle of an eye, she vanished.

Leaving Carly alone and unprotected.

Melody went back home and sat in her blissful garden. What happened to her a moment ago. She came back to make sure Jay finds love but why did she feel so sad, so angry.

This was not right, she had to go back.

As Melody walked slowly through the pack, she found Lucy slowly regaining consciousness. Lucy stumbled scanning her environment, her brows narrowing with confusion.

Melody arrived at the fancy restaurant once again, she braced her self determined to show support.

Jay knelt down before everyone in the restaurant.

" Will you be more than a friend?." Carly could not hold back her tears.

The stranger took photos of this wonderful moment and posted it on Instagram. The photos spread like wild fire.

The date was over, Carly and Jay were on there way home there face beaming with smiles.

"Lucy?." Jay called out. Lucy was unconscious once again.

Jay was about to turn his back when Carly held him, he carried her and placed her on the back seat.

Melody fumed, Carly should have left her there.

The butler raced to the door as soon as he heard Jays car horn.

He was taken aback when he saw Jay carrying Lucy like a child. The butler quickly ran to get Reahs attention.

"Thank goodness Jay, you saved her I knew you still had a soft spot for her." Reah said as Jay dropped Lucy on the couch.

"Actually, you should thank Carly. I had no interest in rescuing her, besides I asked her to watch my grandma what was she doing in the pack?."

Jay went upstairs, while Carly went to his grand mother's room and kissed her forehead.

She was fast asleep, she must have being really bored.

"Please wake up soon, I have a lot to tell you."

The butler took Lucy upstairs to Reahs room and shut the door.

Reah paced around in anger, her friend was so dumb. What if anything happened to her grandmother, Jay would hate her for the rest of his life.

Lucy gasped and coughed, she felt like she just drowned in a pool.

Reah threw the empty bucket away.

"Are you conscious now, what were you doing lying on the grass like a dog hun, do you know who I am?.

I am Reah Singh, it's a good thing people do not know we are friends."

Lucys face squeezed in a childish manner and she started wailing.
