Chapter 1 - Nameless night

On a night veiled by a thin mist—a tense night, where even the air itself seemed to stand still. Two figures appeared: one cloaked in black, with a large scythe hanging behind him. He wore a black dog-shaped mask, and... his very presence was destruction.

*Swinging*

At that moment, the powerless person before him could only remain still, unmoving, staring at a sunflower-shaped pendant made of sharp iron, though... it appeared to be drenched in a strange liquid.

"Hey, look over here, don't you see this sunflower? It's beautiful, isn't it?"

The person nodded slowly. Thus, the masked figure stopped swinging the pendant, gripping it tightly, until his hand was wounded by the sharp sunflower petals.

"What's the name of that flower?"

The helpless one remained silent, then answered simply, "Sunflower."

The masked man let out a small chuckle, raising his injured hand and lifting the mask that hid his identity.

"And who am I?"

His eyes widened, utterly shocked, his voice broken, unable to endure the overwhelming fear pressing down on him—his tongue bit down hard, blood gushing freely.

"A-A-ARGOS!—"

*Slice*

With the sharp pendant, the masked figure swiftly tore through the person's throat. Blood splattered, gushing out violently. He collapsed to the floor with a thud, clutching at the gaping wound in his neck, legs kicking, syncing with the edge of death.

Blood continued pouring from his throat, the sound of it flowing accompanied by faint, dying breaths, and coughs filled with blood. And then... he lay motionless.

*Footsteps*

"As usual, you're so brutal. There are many of your followers here—what if they get scared?"

Said the voice. The speaker… was someone in a white kimono, a long flowing white robe trailing to their feet, their face fully exposed, skin pale and white.

"Ah... Lord Moirae, worry not. My followers would never be afraid of me."

*Marching steps*

From the darkness, thousands of lifeless faces emerged—children, the elderly, young men, women. They moved, yet were thoughtless. Their eyes held no life, dim and hollow.

"MOIRAEE!!! THIS IS MY PROOF OF LOYALTY TO YOU!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Let the world... feel my proof of devotion. AHHHH, LOYALTYYYY!!! Truly... BEAUTIFULLL!!!"

The white-robed figure only smiled faintly—a cold smile, one no one could ever imitate. The two of them... walking disasters, moved forward together, gazing at the living city before them.

"It is now time... to melt humanity."
