Chapter 33 - He's A Stylist

Brian inhaled deeply, watching her, seeing all the fight left in her bones. Then, quietly, he nodded. "Well, then," he said. "Get dressed."

 "I have nothing to wear for an interview," she admitted.

Brian smirked. "Didn't you say Alex got you someone on retainer to make you look good?"

"Yeah," she replied. "Curtis. He's a stylist. Works miracles."

"Well then," Brian said. "I'll get the men outside to find you this Curtis."

"Thank you."

"Must be nice to have a billionaire boyfriend."

Brian's tone was teasing, but his smile was gentle as he started to walk away, trying to lighten the weight in the room. The man had always been a balm to her bruised heart—even now, even when he himself was carrying burdens she hadn't known existed.

"He is not my boyfriend."

Eva said quickly, perhaps too quickly.
