"I am already stepping on it." O'Toole shouted pushing harder.
The tires skidded once, caught traction, then sped up the incline as if it was a race against time itself. The sky above had darkened further, the air tightening as if the world itself braced itself for what was coming.
Sunshine looked at the sky and bubble, not even one watcher could be seen. They were either hiding in the mist, or they had retreated to a safe place. If the watchers did not want to be caught outside in such weather, who were the humans to dare?
Within minutes they were safe and sound inside the walls of the base. A moderate sound of a siren was going off. Through the speakers, comms officer Jennifer Bride was informing residents of the changes in the weather.
Lisha was sharing the same information through a radio, sending a warning out to every area that was part of Fortress four and beyond. Wherever radios had been dropped, word of what was coming was spreading.
