Dr. Sing nearly dropped his tablet when he saw Sunshine walk into his office. He had received word already that she had a project in mind for him, but she had taken her sweet time coming to find him.
Two times, he had gone out looking for her and failed to see. But that did not matter, she was finally here and no doubt, whatever new project she had in mind would be great.
His eyes lit up the way they hadn't in weeks, because while the labs were busy mass-producing advanced medicines, none of it had challenged him and boredom, apparently, was his greatest enemy. It was even more dangerous than any mutant beast.
"I..." he pushed his glasses up to cover his moist eyes. "I almost died without you."
A lab tech rolled her eyes. Dramatic much professor! she thought.
And Sunshine, the corners of her lips rose slightly. "We cannot have that now, can we? We will all die without the amazing lab and its wonderful knowledgeable researchers."
