Chapter 24 - Beacon of light

The whistle blew as the game surged on.

Ramírez turned to Beyer Marcel, the team's striker, and said with determination, "Let's do something spectacular."

He passed the ball swiftly to Ritter Lothar, who sent a sharp cross toward Sergey Zhilin, but Wolf Deo was there in an instant, blocking him cleanly.

Deo recovered possession and launched the ball forward to Leon, who controlled it beautifully as Devertary United burst into attack.

The Maraford defenders scrambled back. Vega tried to tackle Leon, but Leon proved dominant, executing a perfect elástico to beat him.

He passed back to Ruyne Ness, who unleashed a spinning ball toward Axel.

Hernández Cruz was already in position, reading the play, but Axel surged forward with force and fired a shot toward the top-left corner!

Mat Akersson dived heroically, tipping the ball away from goal.

The loose ball rolled to LaCroix Wilfried, who quickly spotted Alejandro Ramírez making a sprint.

Wilfried sent a piercing pass through the midfiel.

Ramírez was off!, dashing with great determination.

Shark tailed him closely, using his strength to obstruct Ramírez's movement.

To escape the pressure, Ramírez passed to Beyer Marcel, who dashed forward down the left.

Marcel curled a clever pass to Esteban Vega, who sprinted past Floxx Leon with dazzling footwork.

Vega drove the ball toward Joshua Gray, aiming to beat Ruyne Ness.

As Gray received it, Nicolas Ronoa came sliding in,a clean but fierce challenge.

Gray hesitated, looking for an opening… but out of nowhere, Ramírez burst through!

He stole the ball right from Gray's feet. The crowd gasped,so did the referee.

The number 16 on his back glistened as he sprinted forward,Maraford's beacon of light and their brilliant captain.

Ramírez charged into Devertary's box. Isaac lunged to intercept, but Ramírez flicked the ball over him with a gorgeous rainbow flick and kept running.

Yet, Poker was waiting,perfectly positioned.

Seeing no clear path, Ramírez curved a shot toward the top-left corner.

Poker smirked. "You've lost your composure,so much for Maraford's beacon of light," he taunted.

But Ramírez laughed. "Light shines bright, and its influence is massive."

At that moment, Beyer Marcel emerged from the shadows, meeting the ball mid-flight and hammering it toward the center of the goal!

Lucius, already diving to cover Ramírez's shot, and couldn't adjust in time.

But suddenly,a blur of motion!

A figure appeared and kicked the ball away with perfect timing, sending it sailing over the bar!

The commentator's voice erupted through the stadium:

"Incredible save by Ruyne Ness! A perfectly timed intervention,he's just shattered Maraford's entire buildup! and kept Devertary United in the lead"

The ball is received by Floxx Leon, who bursts forward, flanked by Deo on the right and Ronoa on the left.

Their coordinated dash tears through Maraford's midfield, a triangle of intent cutting deep into enemy territory.

Leon lifts his head—then executes a tactical cross toward Ronoa.

Ronoa cushions the ball with silky touches, slowing time with his composure.

His eyes scan the field, then flicker toward Ness, and with a deft back pass, he sends the ball rolling into the midfield maestro's path.

Ness catches the ball, a smirk already forming. "Time for my dazzling footwork to shine," he murmurs.

Then he's off, blazing past the center circle, his boots a blur.

Esteban Vega lunges; Ness slips past him.

Joshua Gray reaches out; Ness maneuvers, body swaying like a whisper in the wind.

He surges closer to the box, his intent unreadable. Just as Ritter Lothar prepares to block, Ness feints,a perfect body fake that leaves Lothar stranded in the dust.

The crowd explodes.

Their roars echo like thunder, feeding Ness's wild, berserk rhythm.

Inside the Maraford box, Ness threads a precise pass to Ryan Shark, who's locked in a tight space, his view to goal obstructed by Hernandez Cruz.

"Just pass it back, Shark," Ness calls out, voice steady. "There's no route,I know. My pass isn't wasted. It's a chance for the genius to shine"he mummured.

But Shark observes the situation and he only laughs.

He swivels sharply, performing his trademark switcheroo move, gliding past Cruz. Then, in one fluid motion, he tips the ball upward, and launches a breathtaking bicycle kick!

Gasps ripple through the stadium.

Players freeze in disbelief.

The shot deflects off Akersson, rebounding into open space. Alejandro Ramírez rushes to recover, but before he can sprint, Shark is already there, standing like an immovable pillar before him.

Time slows.

Shark steps in, strips the ball effortlessly from Ramírez, and whispers:

"I am the beacon of light that will raise Devertary United… and the light Maraford will look up to."

A blueish-grey aura flares around him, with tremendous energy, confidence, conviction.

He bursts forward, unleashing a curved shot that arcs through the air like lightning,

and slams into the top-right corner of the net!

GOAL!

Akersson dives, but it's hopeless.

The scoreboard blazes:

Devertary United 2 – Maraford 0 (18')(30')

The stadium trembles with euphoria. Shark races to the sidelines, surrounded by his jubilant teammates. Amid the chaos, he turns to Ness, extending a hand.

"Thanks, Ness. Your playstyle,it's helped me grow, let's work together and dominate this pitch."

Ness laughs, his eyes gleaming: "That goal wasn't meant for you and you know it."

Shark smirks, replying coolly: "Then I'll be sure to leave the next one for you."

---

In the top room of the stadium, Vincent Greenwood sits alone besides a small, flickering television screen.

The roar of the crowd still echoes faintly through the walls, but he seems lost in his own world.

On the screen, the replay of Shark's spectacular goal begins to roll.

Vincent leans forward, elbows on his knees, eyes narrowing with focus.

[Ness smirks, muttering,: "Time for my dazzling footwork to shine."

He takes off! Past the center circle he goes, lightning-fast!

Esteban Vega steps up,Ness shifts right, gone!

Joshua Gray moves in,he's beaten too!

"Look at Ness go! He's slicing through Maraford's midfield like a hot knife through butter!"

Now he's approaching the box,Ritter Lothar's waiting,a body feint! Lothar's left for dead!

"Ohhh, what a feint! Ness is unstoppable tonight!"

The fans are on their feet, the stadium shaking with roars.

Ness drives into the area and slips a clever pass to Ryan Shark, who's cornered by Hernandez Cruz, his line to goal completely blocked!

Ness calls out:"Just pass it back, Shark! There's no route!"

"You can hear Ness shouting for the return… but Shark, wait,he's laughing?"

Shark chuckles, eyes locked on the ball.

Then,a quick spin, a switcheroo move! He's past Cruz in a blink!

"Oh, that's filthy! What a turn from Ryan Shark!"

And now,he tips the ball up,GOES FOR THE BICYCLE!

The crowd erupts in disbelief!

The shot rockets toward goal,Akersson gets a touch! Deflected! The ball's loose,Ramírez pounces!

But Shark's already there,a wall of determination, blocking his way.

"Shark again! He's not done yet!"

He steals the ball back effortlessly, staring down Ramírez.

He pulls back his leg,a stunning curved strike!

"HE HITS IT,THE TOP RIGHT CORNER!!! WHAT A GOAL!!!"

The net ripples, Akersson's frozen, and the scoreboard flashes:

Devertary United 2 – Maraford 0 | 18th Minute and 30th Minute!

"Oh my word, Ryan Shark with a wonder goal! That's magic! Pure, unstoppable brilliance!"

The players surround him, the bench is up, the fans can't stop chanting his name.

Shark, breathing heavy but smiling, turns to Ness.

Just then the replay slows showing;

Ness's dazzling sprint through midfield, that perfect pass, and then Shark's incredible bicycle kick followed by his curved strike.

Vincent exhales softly, the faint reflection of the blueish-grey aura dancing across his face.

"Unbelievable…" he mutters under his breath, a half-smile tugging at his lips. "That's the kind of fire that changes games."

He sits back, the light from the mini TV flickering against his calm but thoughtful expression.

Behind those eyes, you can tell,he's analyzing every movement, every decision. Not just as a spectator, but as a man who understands the art and burden of brilliance on the field.
