Originally, Takeshi had worried that Toneri might go all out with his Tenseigan against them, but after Hizashi's reminder, he realized that Toneri currently didn't even have a Byakugan to use—and the other descendants of Hamura were all dead.
Since the enemy was weak, Takeshi showed no mercy and immediately unleashed the Five-Element: Grand Continuous Bullet Technique.
Seeing this, Hiruzen refused to be outdone and launched a Five Elements: Great Bullet Barrage Technique of his own for good measure.
Watching the fierce bombardment before them, Hakuyun Sōken and the other Konoha jōnin swallowed nervously.
So this is the power of a Kage… terrifying.
Kushina wasn't about to fall behind either—especially not after those puppets had tried to ambush her.
After a brief and rather "friendly" exchange with Kurama inside the seal space, Kushina "borrowed" a bit of chakra and activated the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, charging wildly through the palace.
After learning from Takeshi that the man living on the moon was named Ōtsutsuki Toneri, Hiruzen grabbed his staff and began searching through the ruins for any sign of him.
Eventually, he came upon an intact doorway amid the destruction.
When he pushed it open, the gloomy interior was instantly replaced by dazzling light.
Hiruzen's expression hardened, his entire demeanor turning serious.
Though he talked big, facing an Ōtsutsuki head-on made even him a bit uneasy.
Takeshi had said that Toneri wasn't particularly powerful…
But—
Looking at the glowing green figure before him, Hiruzen's entire body went numb.
Wait a second—wasn't he supposed to be weak?!
Why did this guy look like he could punch him into the next dimension?
And why had all the chakra in his own body vanished in an instant?!
Neither Hiruzen nor Takeshi realized that their taunting had enraged Toneri beyond reason.
Though he hadn't yet found a Byakugan of high purity, that didn't stop him from using Hamura's Tenseigan.
Of course, there was a price.
But Toneri, consumed by fury, no longer cared. He was ready to obliterate Takeshi and his companions with the massive Tenseigan.
"What the—?!"
Takeshi and the others, who had just caught up, instantly realized what was happening. Hakuyun Sōken reacted first, trying to pull Hiruzen back—only to hear him shout,
"Don't come any closer!"
Too late.
The moment Hakuyun lunged forward, his chakra was drained away, and he collapsed peacefully beside Hiruzen.
"That's Hamura's Tenseigan—its blast can destroy the entire ninja world!"
Hizashi's warning came a bit too late.
"Kushina!"
"Got it!"
Takeshi could feel his chakra rapidly draining too, but thankfully, with the tailed beasts as a reserve, he wasn't completely exhausted.
The group quickly widened their distance and prepared for a counterattack.
However, Toneri had clearly underestimated the Tenseigan's power.
Without a proper Tenseigan of his own, forcing its energy through his body only tore him apart.
The overwhelming chakra leaked in all directions, sending Hiruzen—who had been kneeling—and Hakuyun—who had been lying motionless—flying away.
Toneri's body began to swell violently.
"Damn it… Kushina, get ready!"
"I'm already set."
As Toneri's body ballooned further, Takeshi and Kushina each fired a tailed-beast bomb, trying to cancel out the massive Tenseigan's energy.
When the two collided, there was no explosion—just a spinning mass of unstable chakra.
"Not enough…"
Takeshi clicked his tongue and demanded more chakra from Isobu.
Kushina did the same, "borrowing" some from Kurama again.
Two more tailed-beast bombs shot out—and this time, they finally exploded.
Using the Flying Thunder God Technique, Takeshi and his team escaped just before the building collapsed completely, landing in time to see the palace crumble into rubble.
"What a terrifying force…"
Choza wiped at non-existent sweat.
That was far stronger than the Five Elements: Great Bullet Barrage Technique.
But was it really over just like that?
After all, the opponent was an Ōtsutsuki—the strongest threat the ninja world had ever faced.
"That was merely one of Hamura's descendants," Takeshi explained, noticing Choza's uncertainty.
The shockwave from the explosion kicked up a storm of dust, sweeping across their surroundings.
Through the haze, Takeshi squinted against the stinging grit and spotted a tattered figure drifting in midair.
Toneri!
That guy was the key to studying the Ōtsutsuki—whether alive or dead, they had to take him.
"Go after him!"
Takeshi shouted, taking the lead.
The others followed immediately.
...
Falling freely through the sky, Toneri wanted to cry.
He didn't understand what he'd done wrong. He'd just been staying home as usual, fantasizing about Hinata's beauty when she grew up, imagining how he'd destroy the flawed world Hagoromo had created alongside her.
Then, out of nowhere, a bunch of grave robbers barged onto the moon, dug up his ancestors' tombs, and stormed into his palace.
He had only tried to defend himself—and got blown away for it.
Sure enough, the ancestors were right: shinobi should never have existed. The ninja world deserved to be wiped out.
But now, it was too late to say anything.
Those damn ninja from the world below had attacked while he was still young—before he'd even obtained a pure Byakugan—and shattered everything.
As these thoughts swirled, tears welled up in Toneri's empty eye sockets.
The young Ōtsutsuki had been utterly defeated by Takeshi's "Beat-Toneri Squad."
Yeah… his bride was gone, his home destroyed.
What a tragedy.
