Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: White Zetsu: What the Hell Are You?!

"Hoo! Hoo!"

Kakashi Hatake practically threw himself out.

He collapsed into a puddle outside the tower, panting heavily, sweat pouring down like streams from fear and pushing past his limits.

His legs were almost numb, charred from his feet to his thighs, muscles spasming uncontrollably. He could even see dark red burns beneath his skin.

Clearly, he had stimulated his body with Lightning Release chakra to escape, without even leaving himself an opportunity to use Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall to defend.

So, the others...

Boom!

A bone-cracking explosion, grating on the teeth and ringing in the ears, erupted. Two figures instantly flew backward and crashed over. Kakashi Hatake instinctively reached out to catch them, sliding back several steps uncontrollably before steadying himself.

Frowning, he looked down and saw two familiar faces, immediately surprised and then delighted.

Hyuga Kawa, and Tenzo. The former was merely exhausted, while the latter's abdomen had been pierced, as if a chunk had been literally gouged out.

Right, Rotation doesn't require hand signs. Kawa actually saved Tenzo!

He already generally understood that guy's abilities. Though tricky, if Kawa helped, maybe there was still a chance...

"Kakashi... Senior..."

The 'Hyuga Kawa' he caught spoke, his voice seemingly hoarse from exhaustion. "Hurry, Hanzo and those Rain shinobi are about to make their move!"

Hearing this, Kakashi Hatake felt as if he'd been doused with cold water and instantly sobered up.

Hanzo had been swayed by that guy. He and Kawa alone couldn't handle so many enemies.

Kakashi Hatake staggered to his feet and looked up into the tower.

Damn it! That guy who suddenly appeared, if it weren't for him, the alliance between Konoha and Hidden Rain would have been achieved!

And now, his dozen or so comrades were probably all dead!

The sounds from within the tower gradually ceased. Kakashi realized it would be too late if he didn't leave now, so he gritted his teeth, supported the two, and fled.

At the same time, inside the high tower, Hanzo led the Hidden Rain shinobi inside. They subconsciously twitched their noses, smelling the endless stench of blood, and many of their faces turned slightly pale.

What they saw was a mesmerizing crimson, like a spring of blood from a cut artery. Scarlet, viscous blood had already eroded and engulfed the ground.

Everyone instinctively looked up. Under the moonlight, the spiderweb woven from black shadows hung silently in the air.

Cruel, evil, bloody, tyrannical, but also possessing a strange, twisted beauty.

A few Konoha ninjas, still faintly alive, hung in the air, suspended by pitch-black shadows, struggling. They found their chakra utterly unusable, unable to break free, and could only curse weakly.

But as the black shadows gradually covered their bodies from bottom to top, their curses turned into low whimpers and pleas for mercy, eventually dissolving into a chilling, silent stillness of death.

Everyone could smell the murderous savagery emanating from above, a terrifying, suffocating aura pressing clearly before them, enough to make them tremble, grit their teeth, and flee in terror.

"..."

Hanzo deeply exhaled, as if trying to expel the chill from his chest and the intensely thick scent of blood.

"Do your words count?" He looked at the black figure above and said in a deep voice, "We can purchase the supplies at a ten percent markup from the black market price, but what you said last..."

The Land of Rain and the Hidden Rain Village were never short of money; their steel industry was actually quite developed.

Moreover, the Hidden Rain Village's assassination skills were renowned, and many people were accustomed to hiring Hidden Rain shinobi for assassinations, so they naturally didn't lack missions to earn bounties during peacetime.

However, the Land of Rain lacked food. In peacetime, they could buy it with money, but in wartime, trade would be cut off, and they wouldn't be able to buy grain. Even if merchants dared to take the risk, they couldn't bear the multi-fold increase in prices.

If Hyuga Kawa could truly provide food, they truly dared to fight the Five Great Nations to the end.

However, what Hanzo cared about most was that last statement from this guy.

"You mean, a younger body and greater power?"

Hyuga Kawa put Tenzo's flesh and blood into a scroll. Then, he stepped onto the invisible shadow, walking down from the high place step by step under the wary or terrified gazes of everyone.

And they finally saw the guy's appearance: a black robe covering his entire body, still flowing, making it impossible to see his face within the deep shadows.

Meeting Hanzo's gaze, which, though murky, was still sharp, Hyuga Kawa stopped in front of him and chuckled softly. "Don't move."

As his words fell, he extended his hand towards Hanzo. Shinda, standing beside him,'s face changed slightly, and he was about to step forward to stop him, but he heard Hanzo say calmly, "Do as he says."

Shinda and the other Hidden Rain shinobi's movements instantly froze. At the same time, Hyuga Kawa placed his hand on Hanzo's shoulder.

The next moment, black, winding lines spread from his palm, climbing onto Hanzo's body.

This was a reduced version of the Karma.

Like the complete Karma, it possessed the ability to absorb and release ninjutsu, and also had certain effects of the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style and Heavenly Curse Mark.

Simply put, it couldn't fully replicate his complete genetic data like Otsutsuki Momoshiki could; it could only parasitize on the chakra and soul level.

Similar to how Minato and Kushina sealed a portion of their chakra within Naruto, Hyuga Kawa could also communicate directly with the owner of the Karma through its chakra.

With this jutsu, Hyuga Kawa could do many things, and also subtly make contact with people he couldn't approach with his true identity...

Buzz buzz! Buzz buzz!

Feeling the gentle yet domineering chakra surging into his body, Hanzo frowned and opened his mouth, intending to say something, but before he could speak, he suddenly froze.

Because, in his bewildered expression, white things were actually growing and squirming out of his shoulder...

"Ah!!"

Accompanied by a scream of horror and agony, first a head, then a body, a white humanoid creature twisted and grew out.

"What the hell is that?!" x2

The white humanoid thing and Hanzo, in unison, let out voices of shock and terror.

Hanzo didn't know what it was, but Hyuga Kawa knew very well.

It was White Zetsu.

It had been parasitizing inside Hanzo, responsible for monitoring him and relaying intelligence. For years, it had been perfectly stable.

Until, this guy suddenly appeared...

"How is this possible?!"

White Zetsu continuously twisted its form, like white liquid being squeezed out, emerging from Hanzo's body. It cried out with a human voice, its white face filled with terror. "What the hell are you?!"

That black thing, so similar to chakra, had actually squeezed it out of Hanzo's body!

It was a creation cultivated from the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and Hashirama's cells, yet that chakra felt even more brutal and domineering than Hashirama's cells!

It was as if it regarded Hanzo's body as its own property, not allowing any foreign matter to remain in its territory.

"That question should be mine to ask you!"

Before White Zetsu could get a response, it was gripped by the neck by a furious Hanzo, who brutally yanked it out of his body.

"What the hell are you?"

Hanzo stared fixedly at it, his expression savage as he demanded, "How are you inside my body? Since when..."
