Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 – The Island of Broken Blades

Location: Grand Line – Northwest Drift, Near the Line of Silence

Rain lashed the deck. The sea swirled unnaturally—currents spiraled inward toward a singular dark horizon. Thunder rolled like the roar of sleeping giants.

Roger gripped the helm, eyes set like steel.

Rayleigh stood beside him, map clenched tight.

Shanks watched the sky nervously. "This doesn't feel like any normal storm."

"It isn't," Toni murmured. "This sea… it remembers blood."

Rayleigh nodded grimly. "That's because we're approaching Yūnoken-jima—the Island of Broken Blades."

⚔️ Yūnoken-jima – A Forbidden Grave

The island rose like the spine of a dead god—craggy, sharp, and veiled in perpetual storm. Rusted swords, shattered spears, and ancient armaments jutted from the ground like tombstones. No birds sang. No waves broke. Only the wind screamed.

Toni stepped onto shore and immediately felt it—like thousands of voices whispering into his mind.

"You… remember us."

His eyes flickered white-blue. Tenryūzan pulsed faintly at his side.

Roger led the crew cautiously through the rustfield toward a stone gate carved into the mountain's side.

At the gate stood a figure: cloaked in black armor, faceless, unmoving.

Rayleigh drew his saber. "A guardian?"

"No…" Toni whispered. "That's not alive."

Buggy nervously poked the figure with a stick.

The armor crumbled to dust—and revealed a skeleton bound in ancient iron threads. Beneath it was an inscription:

"Here lie the swords of those who chose to forget… and the ones who refused to die."

The wind howled louder.

🧠 Inside the Blade Vault – Memory Hall

The crew entered a spiraling stone temple. Inside, swords floated midair—untouched by time, glowing with faint echoes of past users.

At the center: a pedestal with a single obsidian box.

Toni approached. Tenryūzan trembled in its sheath.

Roger narrowed his eyes. "This place existed before the World Government."

Rayleigh added, "This was a vault made by those who wielded the first Mythblades… and then locked them away."

Toni touched the box.

It opened—without resistance.

Inside was a hilt with no blade.

Suddenly—visions poured into his mind.

🌀 Flashback: The First Wielder

Toni stood in a burning field.

A warrior, cloaked in moonlight armor, held Tenryūzan as it was in its prime—gleaming like a shard of the moon itself.

He faced a dark figure—cloaked in celestial robes, eyes like dying stars.

"You cannot defy the Will of the Thrones."

The warrior raised his sword. "I don't need to. I only need to cut it."

The two clashed—space shattered.

As Toni watched, the memory faded.

Then—another memory followed.

A group of elders encircling the dying warrior. One held Tenryūzan, whispering:

"We must seal it. The blade is now too filled with war."

"Its next wielder must be born of two worlds. One of memory, one of will."

🌌 Return to Present – Revelation

Toni stumbled back, breathing hard.

"I… saw the first Mythblade bearer."

Rayleigh looked at him sharply. "You mean the wielder before the Void Century?"

"No," Toni said. "The one who tried to stop it."

Roger's smile faded.

"You're telling me the blade you carry was once used to cut the World Government's creator?"

Toni nodded. "And that man… still exists. I saw his face. He never aged."

The sword on the pedestal began to rise—hovering in the air.

And then—

Tenryūzan leapt from Toni's side and fused with the hilt, forming a second blade alongside it.

System Alert:

Myth Memory Fragment Reclaimed – 1 of 5

Partial ability unlocked: Form VI – Twin Fang Memory Style (Incomplete)

Toni gripped both hilts instinctively. He didn't know how—but it felt right.

Sudden Alarm – Skyfire Strike

The moment the fusion completed, the mountain shook.

From above—a cannonball of light slammed into the summit.

BOOM.

Half the stone temple collapsed.

Outside—a warship floated in mid-air, anchored to an island cloud.

Onboard: a man in a long coat of black feathers, face hidden by a plague mask.

Rayleigh's eyes widened. "No… That's a Judgment Enforcer."

Roger's grin returned. "Now this is interesting."

The masked man pointed at Toni.

"By order of the Immaculate Throne, the boy is to be erased."
