Chapter 15 - Daximites

It's been 3 months since the Small war with the Gelderians. Since then I've gone on numerous missions with Nolan and Varnis. But for the first time, I'm going on a duo mission.

Just me and Nolan, Varnis has been stuck patrolling our borders at the edge of the freaking galaxy. Unlucky guy. We're simply going to planet Yargot to investigate its local technology level.

It's a scouting mission. Different from our usual planet conquests. So I'm using this as a mini vacation.

Blasting through the void of space at speeds that should logically be impossible. I follow after Nolan's blurred figure with practiced ease.

No longer does he just blatantly outpace me in space. I can now match his speed when traveling through the void. I'm getting stronger. My skin changing color is an indication that I'm now basically pure blooded as well.

My body is tougher. Like way tougher. My already rapidly growing physical strength has been giga amplified. I think I can take on even Varnis now.

Before I'd give it a 40% chance of me beating Varnis. If we fought ten times I could see myself winning 3-4 times. Now? I'll give it a 70% chance of me winning. It's not arrogance just understanding.

Ursall, who used to beat the shit out of me casually. Now loses more spars against me than she wins. Her superior technique fails to close the reasonable gap in raw strength and speed I now have over her.

My recent consistent triumphs over her in spars have gotten her to start acting weird. The lingering looks of expectancy. The submissive way she speaks when I pin her- okay calm down. Focus on the mission.

Ignoring the blood rushing in my lower area I completely focus on the flight. My excitement dying out as we crossed billions of clicks in seconds.

It didn't take long for us to gradually slow down as we neared the lush royal blue planet. A young yellow star shining in the distance.

Flying past the planet's moon. I swear I spot a red gleam near the darkness of the natural satellite. But I just chalk it up to the sun.

Nolan and I slowly enter the atmosphere. No words exchanged. We're just here to see where the species stands technologically.

We land a good distance away from civilization. But that doesn't stop us from being intercepted by numerous aliens.

Both of us are tense. But the aliens don't show outward hostility.

"Sky dwellers! You have returned! But you look quite different?"

One of the blue aliens speaks up to the two of us as we float above them. Nolan and I exchange a look but don't say anything. Do they not know where Viltrumites?

We didn't expect them to be able to find us This was supposed to be a simple spy mission. Not like we can't take over the planet easily. It is just that the empire sees a different purpose for this planet in particular.

I can tell Nolan's on guard now. There were other people here who could fly. Clearly. But who? It couldn't be other Viltrumites.

The numerous aliens surrounding us fall to their knees and begin to chant in a foreign language different from the galactic standard. Causing me to blink rapidly.

They're chants grow louder and louder as more join us in the clearing. I just wait for whatever decision Nolan plans to make.

As the aliens chant Nolan speaks up finally

"We would like to see-"

Before he could finish his sentence our ears picked up the faint sound of something moving at extreme speeds I don't hesitate. Kicking Nolan away as a red beam shoots where he just was.

The unfortunate aliens in the way of said beam get vaporized. I tilt my head out of the way of a large beam from the shadows out of pure instinct the heat somewhat irritating my skin even if it didn't make direct contact.

Nolan's face hardens. His fist clenches audibly and I realize this is very serious.

2 figures float a bit above us. One male, one female. They both look no different than the average Viltrumite. But they hold differences. The glowing eyes. The weird clothing.

"Daximites." Nolan spits out the word like it's a slur. The female Daximite smirks.

"Interesting. What are the cursed children of Rao doing on this side of the Galaxy?" The Daximites' taunting words make Nolan growl a bit.

I forgot despite our weird society most Viltrumites weirdly worship the sun god Rao. Nolan included. But why did she call us the 'cursed children'

Nolan and the Daximite exchange some words. That's when I noticed. They aren't speaking the Normal standard Galactic language. They're speaking a whole different language. But I understand it subconsciously. What was it called? Kryptoniese or something.

Do we all speak that language subconsciously? I silently size up the large Male Daximite. Nolan continued to exchange insults with the other.

"I recommended that you two leave. This planet has gained the Viltrum Empire's Interest. And I'm sure you're aware what that means." Nolan speaks coldly but his cold words earn a laugh from the woman.

"Oh, you poor fool. You have no idea? We don't care about that pathetic little Empire of yours. You're in Daximite stomping ground and the price for trespassing is death." The taunting annoys even me now. Is she that arrogant?

But Nolan seems tense. A fight between 4 alien powerhouses would wreck this planet. The yellow sun gleaming overhead was not assuring.

"You sound confident that you could beat us," I speak before I can think. Earning everyone's full attention. But I remain calm.

The large male Daximite snorts. His voice comes out deep and rumbling.

"Don't fool yourself Viltrumite. We've been here for 5 cycles. The local sun has enhanced us even above your levels."

I sigh a bit annoyed. Nolan seems cautious but I can tell he's rearing for a fight. And so am I honestly. So I put on a confident smirk.

"How about we find out?"

That earns me 2 glares. Before I move. A beam was blasting the location I was at milliseconds ago. The female Daximite and Nolan clash as I block a heavy punch from the burly male.

The resounding Shockwave destroys the local area. The ground cracks. Stones rise as I feel my forearms ache a bit from the force of the blow.

But despite that, I smile. My teeth showing in a half-snarl half half-grin as I retaliate with a jab into the Daximites' guard. Testing the waters.

We begin to exchange blows within the thousands in mere seconds. I get an understanding of his skill level the more we clash.

I don't pay any attention to Nolan's fight. Even though I catch a glance of him and the other Daximite crashing through a mountain. I trust him to win. And I'm sure he does the same for me.

I can hear my heart thumping in my chest. I block a kick aimed at my midsection and respond with a headbutt that's dodged before I feel my nose shift under a punch.

But I don't let myself separate from the entanglement even as I feel my nose spill blood. I feint right with a telegraphed punch. The Daximite shifts to block but I smirk and spin the momentum of my married attack.

I feel the bottom of my foot impact the Daximites' exposed face in a backward kick. Returning the nosebleed. But he didn't take as much damage as I did.

He recovers from the kick almost instantly. But months of sparring with Ursall and mastering the Viltrumites' martial arts have me moving to parry his oncoming kick.

Moving with the parry. I raise my left leg and bend my forearm to block a heavy dual-handed swing into my ribs. Wincing at the force of the blow I lose control of my momentum briefly and crash through a few trees before recovering myself with flight and blasting back into the fray.

We lock hands in a contest of strength. I feel my arms quiver as I try to overpower the Daximite. He's a bit stronger. But I can tell he isn't used to exerting himself, especially since he's been under a yellow sun for half a decade. Just because he's bathed in a yellow sun for 5 years doesn't mean he has full control over his power.

The odds of him running into anything that would make him try while boosted by a yellow sun are little to none. So I'm probably his first real challenge. That's good.

I feign weakness in our clash of raw strength. Allowing myself to be pushed back as the Daximite roars triumphant, but I twist last second. So when he was aiming to crash me through a mountain he instead crashed into the mountain.

I grin, we slam through the rocks like they weren't even there. Entering a dark cave the two of us disengage.

I look around warily as I lost sight of him. I spot a gleam from the corner of the cave and move. My body is a blur as I dodge twin piercing beams of heat.

I hear a rumble outside the cave. Likely Nolan's fight, I ignore it and instead launch myself toward the source of the beams.

He cuts off his eye beams and instead meets me in a dual tackle. The force behind said tackle makes the entire cave blow up after a rough Shockwave. The thing collapses on top of us but we ignore the falling rocks blasting out from underground easily.

I briefly note the pure destruction around us. But I remained focused as the Daximite blew cold air in my direction. I almost snort.

I respond by inhaling deeply before blowing back right at him. That power isn't anything unique. Just having strong lungs is all it takes.

My blow counters his. We share eye contact before we clash once more in another bout of CQC, despite him not being used to his power. He's still a very good fighter.

But the way he fights would be stronger if we were both on the ground. The martial arts he uses don't account for mid-air fighting.

So I capitalize. Hooking my foot around his I tip him backward. Causing him to have to try and straighten himself with his flight. I slam my fist into his unguarded stomach as he goes to recover sending him flying backward.

I shake my hand in annoyance. His body's tough. If he weren't grunting and bleeding from the nose I'd doubt I could even hurt him.

Hitting him is like hitting General Kregg...

Shaking my head I remained focused on the fight. We haven't spoken at all. I don't like him and he doesn't like me. One of us is going to die. And we're both very strong so there's no time for words.

I spot Nolan's figure a good 2 clicks away. One of his eyes is sealed shut due to swelling and his lip is busted. His clothes were tattered. I almost feel concerned before I see his opponent's face.

She's bleeding everywhere. Her nose. Lips. There's major swelling along her cheeks as well. I can see one of her eyes also sealed shut due to swelling. Nolan's fucking her up.

That reassures me. I've been fighting too passively as of now. It's time to get serious turning back to my opponent is stop holding back and go all out. Blasting toward the Burly Daximite i slam into his face head first.
