The whirling of the helicopter blades drowned the noise of Jin barking orders at he's crew. They had planned and invested too much time and money into this for a single mistake to screw it up and although Jin didn't say it directly they three guys under he's command all wound level force users, Eric, Kim and Dan knew it all too well, after all hunting monsters wasn't a job that should be taken lightly. With the helicopter over the entrance of the dungeon, the ladders were drawn and the decent began. Now
all four men stood in front of the huge entrance, with nothing but their Equipment and one goal in mind, to slay the strongest monster in the area, the leviathan.
Jin hadn't even fought one of these before and didn't know what to expect, but that didn't matter they had each other after all he had been through life and death with this men and decided to do what he had always done and put he's trust in their abilities, but that was by the way side, Jin knew deep inside him, the only reason he was here was greed, everyone one knows monster parts sell for high prices, but if they can get this one, they'll be set for life, then he will show he's father that he could survive on he's own. They were all here for money, but he had something extra, to prove to those who abandoned him for not having the ability to use the force. He would show all of them.
With one swift motion of he's hand and weapons drawn and mask worn they all headed into the massive cave massive cave. Almost as soon as the entrance came into view if was almost dark. The cave structure actually moved in underground so light was instantly blocked and they slopped downwards. The journey was tense, with the trickling of water off the cave walls echoing in the distance. Eric and Kim held their force blades close and alert, as these monsters are strangers to physical attacks. As they are made by the force and came through the force, they can be killed by the force. Dan uses ranged attacks with force guns and serves as the support. With this tactic, their attacks are well coordinated and effective.
Jin although being a non force user and a supposed force combatant, has a anti force gauntlet, which nullifies monsters abilities for a few seconds.
They had been walking for a while now, and still nothing. "how big is this cave anyway, you sure the Intel you got was solid? Or can't are you confused as we are" Eric remarked. Happy to be paid for a job well done, he's pride had not yet made peace with the fact a 16 year old boy is he's leader, and often gave hints of disrespect. The other two although always having Jin's side in every matter knew Eric was right, they've walked too far, this cave wasn't this big from the outside, where are they? Have they been make for fools and given wrong information?. Jin looked father into the darkness they were headed into, and back at he's men, insolence aside they had a solid argument, besides what had kept that bastard till now was that he was their strongest fighter, besides they can just go back and he can punish he's informants. "Alright then let's....." the silence was interrupted by a movement in Jin peripheral vision and before he could react, it disappeared into the darkness. Turning back to he's men to made sure he wasn't the only one who saw it, he face was pale with horror. In the minimum luminosity their equipment gave them they saw a head, a massive one. In one bite had tore Eric from the waste up leaving a splatter of blood up shooting though the air, and landing on the faces of everyone. As Jin felt the warm blood on he's face, , mouth half open and eyes lost in the distance. They had fought monsters before, never before had they never had the chance to fight back, what even made them think they could do this. He can't die here, no! , he won't die here.
They was so much to prove. In that moment only when Dan screamed in pain did he come back to he's senses. He looked to see him crawling towards he's direction for help, with fear in he's eyes. Why was Dan crawling? was a question that couldn't form completely in he's head as he saw the blooding trail with he's two legs missing and still all they had seen of this monster was it's head, no other details. Jin ran towards Dan, reaching to reach out, and do what he could. But all of a sudden a tail shot out of the darkness and dragged what remained of Dan into the darkness. That was it!!!. He was getting out of here one way or another. Yelling for Kim, they took off the same way they came in. They gained distance all the while listening to Dan's screams for help , a reminder to run even faster, seems the monster decided to take he's time with he's second prey, such thoughts sent shivers down both their spines. By the time they found the exit, a literal light at the end of the tunnel, they decided to catch their breath, it was far, but seeing the exit gave them hope besides they couldn't run anymore, this cave was one way but endless. Whilst catching their breath they noticed something...they had been running for more than 20 mins, but they could still hear faint groaning. That didnt make sense, they should have been far enough to escape by now, before realising the situation Jin could feel a crushing blow in he's left hand and screamed in pain, he's hand had been bitten, Kim didn't hesitate to rush in and leapt to close the distance, and gave a clear strike into the monsters eye. Roaring in pain, it dissapeared back into the darknessThat was enough to release Jin's arm from the jaws of death. He's arm was tattered but the exit was clear, with shear will and Kim's assistance they made way for the exit getting ever closer, putting gap between them and the leviathan before recovery.
This was this, they'll make it out of here alive. But in the last moment, one more steep slope to get to salvation once again, the beast shot out from the darkness once again. So this was it's tactic, hit and run without giving the opponent a chance to fight back, and how could they fight back it was charging at them from below, they were on a slope, gravity was against them, that thing killed three of he's best men, what could just him and Kim do all they could do was run and hope, for anything.
Kim let out a scream as he was dragged down and held on to Jin's good arm. Jin tried he's best not to get up and close and personal with any of he's companions for efficiency but this guy here with he's face twisted in the agony of one of he's legs grabbed by sharp claws has saved he's life, not just a few moments ago but on countless missions and the first person to join he's group,surely he had to put everything he had into saving at least one person he owed him that. After all he put them in this danger.
Then again, they all knew what they were getting into weren't they, hunting monsters is what they do for a living and it comes with risks. Sure he save Jin's life on multiple occasions, but that was he's job. And if by some heavenly intervention he freed him, he's leg being injured would slow both of them down, better for one to survive than both of them to die here. These were the reasons Jin gave himself, to help him sleep at night , the reasons that will let him carry this burden for the rest of he's life as he let Kim's arm go to fall into the darkness. With the monster busy with he's latest prey he'll make he's way for the exit.
A tattered and blood covered Jin emerged from the dungeon blinded by the hot sun and dazed by blood loss, collapsed on the desert sand.
