Reth's cheek still tingled from Asthia's kiss—a fleeting warmth that lingered like the afterglow of a spell, both intimate and disorienting. His eyes remained locked on hers, silver meeting a stormy gray that held no easy answers. The air between them hummed with unspoken words, thick as the herbal smoke from Elenya's bandages wafting from her mat in the corner. She stirred faintly, a low groan escaping her lips, but didn't wake, her chest rising and falling in ragged rhythm.
