Chapter 300 - Yun Jin, Center of the Tempest

Beastmaster Sect.

Liu Li received Ji Wusi's message and immediately headed to the gathering point.

Inside the soundproof barrier, Liu Li wore a solemn expression as she addressed the Beastmaster Sect's sect leader, Sang Fan.

"Sect Master, do you know who the future leader of Wushuang Sect is?"

Sang Fan's eyes widened.

Liu Li's tone was inscrutable. "That Yun Jin, by coincidence, happens to be my newly accepted disciple. If we help her restore Wushuang Sect, isn't that the same as expanding our Beastmaster Sect's sphere of influence? With the aid of Wushuang Sect's hidden treasures, the future will belong to us beastmasters."

Such an explosive secret!

Sang Fan was thoroughly moved by the vision Liu Li painted and instantly decided to give Yun Jin his full support. She was one of their own, after all.

Better yet, they could also persuade the other sects to contribute, all in the name of a glorious future for beastmasters.

After finishing her persuasion with Qing Yun, Liu Li departed, thoroughly satisfied with her successful manipulation.

Lin City, Sword Tomb.

Yun Jin was still feeling guilty.

She waited for a while.

Hmm. The communication token hadn't responded at all. Yun Jin finally relaxed a little. As expected of her master—nothing could rattle him.

To her master, this probably didn't even count as a real incident.

While Yun Jin was speaking with Jin Yu, the members of Yuehua Sect exchanged glances, cold sweat breaking out on their backs.

What exactly was going on here? And who was this Yun Jin, to warrant the Kunlun Sword Sect's sect master sending disciples in person to assist her?

If not for Yun Jin suppressing the Tian Po Sword, it would've already jumped out to boast loudly.

Mu Lan gritted his teeth and was about to step forward and say something when—

Suddenly, six more figures descended from the spatial passage.

Mu Lan's expression changed instantly.

This time, the ones who arrived were disciples of Qingxiao Pavilion. Judging by their cultivation, they were all at Divine Transformation stage as well.

As Yuehua Sect was under Qingxiao Pavilion's jurisdiction, Mu Lan was more familiar with Qingxiao Pavilion's disciples than those from the other Holy Lands.

The one leading the group was Duan Yiwei, one of the foremost talents among Qingxiao Pavilion's younger generation. If limited to Divine Transformation cultivators, he would undoubtedly be at the top.

The other five were also elite among Divine Transformation disciples.

Duan Yiwei quickly locked his gaze onto Yun Jin.

He recalled Lin Xiao's instructions and narrowed his eyes.

The sect master wanted the owner of the master key eliminated—but not openly. It had to be done discreetly, leaving no trace behind.

Of course, there was one prerequisite: they had to get their hands on Wushuang Sect's hidden treasury first.

Once Wushuang Sect's legacy emerged, the master key's owner would no longer be necessary.

Without saying a word, Duan Yiwei recorded Yun Jin's image and transmitted it back to Qingxiao Pavilion.

Yun Jin's eyes narrowed.

She already had a poor impression of Qingxiao Pavilion, and Duan Yiwei's actions only deepened her dislike.

"You're the one holding the master key?" Duan Yiwei smiled, a faint trace of mockery in his voice. "A mere Golden Core stage cultivator?"

A Golden Core among all these Divine Transformation experts was like an infant surrounded by adults.

Yun Jin showed no reaction.

But in her mind, the Tian Po Sword had already gone wild.

"Young Master, hit him! Don't be scared, I've got your back! Beat him until he wets his pants! Restoring Wushuang Sect's glory starts now! The future sect master of Wushuang Sect must not suffer such humiliation. Kill! Kill for me—"

Yun Jin grew even more distressed.

Dear heavens, why had she ever thought the Tian Po Sword was mature and steady?

If she'd known it was like this, she would never have allowed the sword imprint to merge with her. Now she couldn't even mute it.

Doing her best to ignore the sword's raving, Yun Jin gave a gentle smile and said softly, "I'm fifteen this year. Uncle, how old are you?"

Uncle???

Duan Yiwei's face immediately darkened.

"Oh wait, I misspoke," Yun Jin said suddenly.

Duan Yiwei snorted coldly. Wasn't it a little late for apologies now?

Then Yun Jin added sincerely, "I was being disrespectful calling you Uncle. Judging by your age, I should really be calling you Grandfather. Grandfather, wouldn't you say I'm much more polite than you?"

"Impudent!" Duan Yiwei flew into a rage. A third eye opened on his forehead—the manifestation of his divine ability: the Celestial Eye Art.

"Duan Yiwei," Jin Yu stepped forward calmly. "The treasure hasn't even been revealed yet. Are you sure you want to draw your sword already?"

Duan Yiwei's tone turned frosty. "You intend to protect her?"

Jin Yu nonchalantly summoned his sword. "So what if I do? You think I'm afraid of you?"

He showed no fear whatsoever.

Everyone knew that when it came to combat power, sword cultivators were unmatched among peers of the same level.

Duan Yiwei's face turned colder.

The sect master had said that Wushuang Sect had been destroyed for a thousand years. None of the Four Holy Lands wanted to see it rise again.

He had assumed that Jin Yu and the others would share this view.

Who would have thought he'd choose to protect that woman instead? Did the Kunlun Sword Sect really intend to help Wushuang Sect revive, even at the cost of their own interests?

Well, of course.

Sword cultivators had always been brainless. It was nothing new for them to do something utterly foolish.

Duan Yiwei let out a cold laugh and closed his third eye.

"Jin Yu, you've clearly lost your mind. I won't bother arguing with you. The Beastmaster Sect and Xuandan Gate disciples should be arriving soon. When they do, do you think your Kunlun Sword Sect can take on all three of us?"

Sword cultivators might be foolish.

But the Beastmaster Sect and Xuandan Gate wouldn't be so easily led astray.

Killing Yun Jin and seizing the Wushuang Sect's inheritance would benefit all of the Holy Lands.

He believed those who came next would know exactly what to do.

Jin Yu tightened his grip on his sword, but his expression remained calm.

"What's one against three? We sword cultivators aren't afraid even when it's one against ten."

Duan Yiwei cursed him silently: pig-headed fool!

He no longer wasted time with Jin Yu and simply waited for the other two Holy Lands to arrive.

Mu Lan cautiously took a step forward, wanting to speak with Duan Yiwei.

Before he could utter a word, Duan Yiwei snapped, "We are here under the sect master's orders and have important matters to handle. You irrelevant outsiders should not interfere."

His tone was openly hostile and condescending.

Mu Lan's expression turned ugly.

Duan Yiwei was only at Divine Transformation. He himself was in Mahayana. And yet the boy dared speak to him like that?

But—

The words "sect master's orders" were enough to silence everything.

Mu Lan could only retreat, leading the Yuehua Sect to quietly stand aside.

Even the Yuehua Sect dared not say anything, let alone the others. The entire area fell into tense silence, everyone afraid of being dragged into something bigger than themselves.

A flicker of worry passed through Qin Ping's eyes.

A strange giant sword, a transparent key, and now Duan Yiwei's cryptic words—clearly, all Four Holy Lands were about to gather here.

What kind of storm had Yun Jin stirred up?

Was the world about to change?

Qin Ping's eyes gleamed faintly.

Where there is upheaval, there is risk. But also opportunity.

This time, could he seize that opportunity—for the Canglan Kingdom?
