Chapter 229 - 229-It Is Much Better Being Alone

Troy:

"You haven't said a word to me since you returned," my mother scolded, slapping the back of my hand.

The entire family seemed determined to ruin my day. We were in a luxurious hotel on its top floor, while the rest of the floors were occupied by our pack members.

I didn't even know why they had all come. It wasn't like anyone actually cared about me. If they did, they wouldn't have sent me to the academy to die in the North.

"I wanted to rest, not deal with all these shenanigans," I muttered. As I tried to lean back, my mother smacked the back of my neck, forcing me to sit up again. I shook my head angrily. I was so annoyed at this point.

Ever since I'd arrived, my mother had been on my back. It has been two full days now.

"As a mother, I want to know everything about your life. If you're not going to tell me, who will, huh? You know you're my only one. Troy, don't hurt me like your father did," she pleaded, and I started to feel bad.
