The four of them heard me cry out as the creature clawed me and slammed me against the wall.
“Help me!” I gasped, but their attention shifted when a soft cry came from the other side.

"What is the difference between sending a criminal to the north and sending a teenager there, then expecting one to fight monsters and the other to become one?" I asked, leaning back in my chair and folding my arms across my chest.
