Chapter 13 - Passionate Lovers

ISLA

"Oh my god, Stiles! This place sure feels like paradise" I laughed heartily as I placed my hand on top of his. "Hailey would love it here; I would definitely recommend it to her."

"Hailey?" He looked a bit confused.

"Yes, my best friend." I winked and he chuckled.

"What's she like?" He asked with a genuinely curious gaze.

"If I was to describe my best friend in one word, I'd say fun, in a complete sentence, I'd say Hailey is a quirky, fun loving, down-to-earth bossy bitch!."

Stiles and I burst into laughter at my own joke. As I looked up, my eyes moistened with tears from laughing too much but I saw a familiar figure standing some metres away from our table. Wait! Robert? I had to blink back the tears of laughter from my eyes to be able to see clearly. And was that the witch, Mia? Right in front of him, staring straight at me with a smug smile plastered on her scowling face.

What the hell were they doing here? Together? Like some sort of couples. And to think I've been trying to get Robert's attention but here he was, going on dates with the greatest antagonizing, conniving bitch on earth, my biggest nightmare!

Stiles had stopped laughing when he noticed my pause. He followed my gaze.

"Hardy and Mia?" He muttered, his voice dripping with mutual surprise.

They both walked to our table.

"Good evening Mr. Hardy, Ms. Thompson." Stiles greeted with a pleasant amused expression. "Didn't think we'd run into you here."

"Good evening." I muttered to no one in particular.

"I see you're on a date, that's lovely Isla." Mia wore a coquettish smile. "Stiles, you look dazzling.. that's a great suit."

I mentally rolled my eyes. And why was Robert almost glaring at me like a dad that had just seen his fifteen year old princess on a date with a rascal.

"Enjoy your evening." Robert simply said with a nod and gently nudged Mia away.

As soon as they left I gasped. I hadn't even realized I was holding my breath. Suddenly, a small smile crept up my face. Dear mother fate, thank you so much! I was going to get close to Stiles to get back at Robert but just day one of so many days ahead and it worked, it worked like some fucking magic.

I hadn't expect to see him here, I thought I would just build a bond with Stiles and keep things going on with him until Robert noticed what we had.

"I hadn't expected that, do you think they're back together?"

"What?" I almost choked on my own saliva. "Back... back together?"

"Oh, you probably didn't know since you're new…but Hardy and Mia dated for such a long time that everyone thought they were bound to end up married."

This was a bombshell, a fucking bombshell. Stiles had no right to drop it on me like that. Yes! That explains why this witch was on my dick head all the time.

 "Robert and Mia dated?"

"They were passionate lovers, no one knew what happened or why they suddenly stopped the affair." Stiles shrugged taking a sip from his wine and signalling a waiter. "Do you want more steaks?"

I shook my head a no. I was wondering if they were back together. If that was the reason he was completely avoiding me. I felt like running after them to ask them directly if they were back to being 'passionate lovers'

"Stiles, what did you mean by passionate lovers?" I tried my best not to sound furious.

I saw his lips twitch up to a smile and then he leaned in and whispered to my ear "Have you ever been in an elevator with two people fucking beside you?"

"What?" I blurted out, feeling disgusted by the thought of it.

Stiles readjusted himself and shrugged. "Hardy is a total maniac, a freaking maniac. It seemed like he got his match in Mia but then, plot twist; break up."

A waitress arrived with a plate of steak and set it in front of Stiles, she gave him a flirtatious look and walked away to wait on other customers like the damned waitress she was!

I was angry, very angry. I knew Robert wasn't a monk, I've always imagined he's had his own fair share of women..but Mia? I never thought about it. Yes, she was undeniably beautiful but she was too vile. I didn't think I've hated any one the way I hated her. I picked my glass up and gulped the entire content of my drink in such a rush that I almost choked for the umpteenth time.
