Iris's POV
I am locked up in my room. It's been nearly twenty-four hours since they shoved me in here, the heavy door slamming shut with a thud that still echoes in my ears.
I am lying on the bed in the pool of my tears, my tears wetting the pillow.
I don't know why they've locked me here. No one explained. No one spoke when I asked. Just rough hands dragging me from the courtyard, their faces hard and unreadable. My heart pounds, a relentless drum in my chest. What did I do? What do they think I've done? I was innocent of what happened to Cade. The questions swirl inside me, but no answers came.
Suddenly, the door of my room was pushed open. I leap to my feet, my pulse spiking as my eyes landed on them.
