Chapter 5 - Choose

Five years ago, the black entity slowly extended its cold, smoky hand, speaking in a kind tone.

**Entity**: "My name is Zamfioe, a trans-dimensional being who can fully observe all dimensions. Now it's your turn to choose, Tohito: infinite power, or staying true to your beliefs, never killing anyone, and hating war."

Tohito, terrified, pondered Zamfioe's offer.

**Tohito**: "I… I don't know… If I… If I kill someone… I'll become a monster."

Zamfioe gave a gentle smile.

**Zamfioe**: "And if you don't become that monster, others will take everything from you. Kill or be killed. The choice is yours."

---

Killing or being killed… one of life's hardest choices. If you choose to kill, you might forget your humanity. But if you choose to be killed, you'll never know how your adventure continues…

---

**Tohito**: "Oh, come on, was Aiko's plan really that bad—"

Before Tohito could finish, an explosion erupted in the building behind him. Shattered glass sparkled like crystals, scattering everywhere, while chunks of brick and stone littered the ground. Tohito's yellow hair whipped wildly in the blast's gust. He spoke in a near-serious tone.

**Tohito**: "Alright, let's wrap this up quick."

He snapped his fingers and teleported into an abandoned building. The walls were half-painted, the cabinets rotted, the metal pipes rusted, and the windows cracked.

Tohito said in a serious tone:

**Tohito**: "Come out, your power's way too obvious."

A bald man in dusty, gray clothes emerged from behind crates in the corner.

**Man**: "Well, looks like you found me."

Tohito continued in the same tone.

**Tohito**: "Give me one reason not to kill you."

The man let out a loud laugh.

**Tohito**: "What's so funny?"

The man, struggling to stop laughing, spoke with difficulty.

**Man**: "The fact that you think you can kill me."

A light appeared in the man's hand, filling the dark room with radiance. He hurled a ball of light at Tohito. The impact obliterated the ceiling and walls, sending debris soaring into the sky.

The man laughed.

**Man**: "Easier than I expected. No way anyone survives that attack."

Suddenly, the man felt something sharp pierce his stomach. Looking down, he saw a sword made of shadow embedded in him. As the suspended dust cleared, he saw Tohito standing among it with a menacing smile.

The man's eyes widened.

**Man**: "How… How is this possible… That… That was my strongest attack."

Tohito flashed a playful grin.

**Tohito**: "Because you're way too weak."

Tohito extended his hands forward, and shadows began gathering around them. In a calm, neutral tone, he said:

**Tohito**: "Vanish."

The man screamed and tried to pull out the sword, but in a fraction of a second, he began to fade away. Tohito let out a playful laugh.

**Tohito**: "Guess I can head home now."

He paused for a moment.

**Tohito**: "Oh no, I screwed up. I was supposed to bring him home alive. Aiko's gonna kill me."

---

Tohito opened the door to the house and shouted:

**Tohito**: "Haroooo, I'm back!"

**Aiko**: "Haro's in the shower."

Tohito fell to the floor in shock, speaking in a surprised tone.

**Tohito**: "Aiko?! Shouldn't you be in that 10,000-meter mansion with your fancy servants?"

Aiko replied in a cold, serious tone.

**Aiko**: "Shut up. What did you do with the guy I sent you to bring back?"

Tohito answered in a sheepish tone.

**Tohito**: "Maybe… maybe I accidentally erased him from existence."

Aiko's eyes widened.

**Aiko**: "What the hell did you do?"

Tohito said playfully:

**Tohito**: "What did you even need him for?"

Aiko grabbed Tohito's hair and dragged him toward the kitchen.

**Aiko**: "He was a member of the Dawn Council, you idiot. We needed him for our research."

Aiko threw Tohito into the kitchen by his hair.

**Aiko**: "Now stop talking and start cooking."

Tohito got up from the floor playfully.

**Tohito**: "You've got way too much strength, you know."

Aiko smirked meaningfully.

**Aiko**: "Haro told me you've been using holograms a lot lately. You're such a loser."

Tohito chuckled softly.

**Tohito**: "At least I'm not like you and Haro, falling in love with some AI, rich lady."

Aiko started blushing.

**Aiko**: "Shut up, idiot."

Aiko took a deep breath and, after a brief pause, continued.

**Aiko**: "So… how much damage did you cause?"

Tohito said thoughtfully:

**Tohito**: "Probably about three or four abandoned buildings under construction."

Aiko pointed at Tohito in anger.

**Aiko**: "Three or four buildings? Do you know how much that's gonna cost?"

Tohito let out a playful laugh.

**Tohito**: "Don't worry, you're rich."

Aiko replied furiously.

**Aiko**: "You're sleeping on the couch tonight."

Tohito answered in a bored tone.

**Tohito**: "This is my house. What do you mean?"

Aiko huffed.

**Aiko**: "Exactly what I said."

Tohito headed toward his room.

**Tohito**: "I'm gonna change. Be right back."

After Tohito left, Aiko sat on the couch, holding her head in her hands, blushing intensely.

**Aiko**: "I almost blushed in front of him. How is he so attractive?"

She repeated to herself:

**Aiko**: "Calm down, calm down. He's not here now. Don't let him know you like him."

---

Tohito came out of his room and jumped onto the couch.

Aiko blushed slightly upon seeing him. Tohito said in a surprised tone:

**Tohito**: "Why're you blushing?"

Aiko stammered:

**Aiko**: "N… no… I'm not red."

Tohito reached for the remote on the table and turned on the television.

**News Anchor**: "Today, four buildings under construction in the poor district exploded. It's still unclear whether this was a terrorist attack or what the motive was."

Tohito turned to Aiko in panic.

**Tohito**: "Aiko, wait, I can expl—"

Aiko landed a hard punch on Tohito's face, sending him tumbling off the couch.

**Aiko**: "You useless idiot."

Tohito slowly got up, holding his face.

**Tohito**: "Meanie."

Haro, emerging from the bathroom in a robe, asked:

**Haro**: "What's all this noise about?"

Aiko shouted:

**Aiko**: "You shut up!"

---

A cloaked figure with a hood walked unhurriedly toward the main hall. They paused at the door.

**Cloaked Figure**: "Tell the master I'm here."

The doors began to open. Behind them stood the leader of the Dawn Council, waiting. The cloaked figure bowed respectfully.

**Cloaked Figure**: "Greetings, great leader."

The leader spoke in a raspy voice.

**Leader**: "What news do you bring, Mofa?"

**Mofa (Cloaked Figure)**: "Unfortunately, Number 455 has been killed."

The leader slammed their hand on the stone armrest of their chair, shattering it.

**Leader**: "How did this happen?"

**Mofa**: "We haven't yet identified who was responsible."

The leader roared:

**Leader**: "Then get out and don't return until you've killed the one responsible."

Mofa bowed.

**Mofa**: "Yes, master"
