(Mew and her friends are riding on the ship to head to their next destination.)
(Cinnabar Island It's where Mew will be challenging for her seventh badge.)
(The group are relaxing outside as they feel the wind in their hair and wait til they get to the island.)
Misty: "I can't wait till we get to Cinnabar, it's supposed to be beautiful,"
(Misty says.)
Brock: "It's got an awesome volcano. Best of all, its Pokemon Research Laboratory is one of the best in the world. Trainers come from all over to learn the latest Pokemon techniques,"
(Brock says.)
Mew: "Yeah. Professor Oak said that's where we can get our fossils restored. And the Cinnabar Gym is where I'm going to get my seventh badge,"
(Mew says.)
(Tomo and the Pokemon look at the sea.)
(Suddenly, they hear Gary's voice.)
Gary: "Hey Mew, you're here too!"
(Mew and her friends turn their heads to see Gary Oak and are dressed for vacation.)
Mew: "Gary? You're going to Cinnabar Island?!"
(Mew asks, surprised.)
Gary: "That's right,"
(Gary says.)
(Mew asks.)
Mew: "Are you here for your next Gym Battle too?"
Gary: "Oh, so you didn't know. Pokemon trainers haven't gone to Cinnabar Island since you and my grandfather's days as a trainer!These people are all tourists. Cinnabar Island's a resort!"
(Gary says.)
Mew and Tomo: "A resort?"
(Mew and Tomo say, confused.)
(Then Gary says.)
Gary: "Actually, I've earned so many badges already, I'm taking a break to work on my tan."
(Mew giggles.)
Mew: "A tan huh?"
Mew: "From what I've heard, Cinnabar Island doesn't even have a Pokemon gym anymore,"
(Mew says.)
Misty: "Really? That's too bad,"
(Misty says.)
(Sometime later, Mew and her friends arrived at Cinnabar Island.)
(To their surprise, Gary is right, the place looks more like a Resort.)
Mew: "Maybe Gary was right,"
(Mew says.)
Misty: "This place is a tourist trap,"
(Misty says.)
Brock: "Might as well look around,"
(Brock says.)
(The group then begins to look around the island.)
(and so far, all they mostly see are tourist attractions like stores.)
(souvenir shops, restaurants, and even resort hotels.)
(Brock looks around and says.)
Brock: "No sign of a Pokemon gym, but there sure are a lot of tourists around here. There're so many nice islands, I wonder why this one became so popular."
(Suddenly, someone stops in front of them.)
(It's a man with long brown hair, a brown mustache.)
(wearing sunglasses, a green beaded necklace, a red shirt, and black pants.)
(The man says.)
man: "The answer is a riddle. What do tourists think is hot and cool?"
Mew: "A riddle?"
(Mew says, confused.)
(Soon, group begins to think.)
(Then Misty says.)
Misty: "Hot springs are really hot, and.. And tourists think they're cool!
(The man says.)
man: That's right! You see, friends, because of the volcano, there are lots of hot springs here on Cinnabar Island. And every year, more and more tourists come to visit em. Now, they've even taken over Cinnabar Island. Trainers don't come anymore."
(Then dramatically says.)
man: "Tourists! They've ruined the island!
(Mew then asks.)
Mew: "Is the Pokemon gym still here? I want to battle and earn a Volcano Badge?"
Misty: "I heard that the gym leader was a guy named Blaine,"
(Misty says.)
man: "His gym, is right where you put your glasses,"
(The man says.)
(Then Mew says.)
Mew: "In front of your eyes?"
man: "You're right!"
(the man says.)
(Then points at the front.)
man: "Blaine's gym is right in front of your eyes!"
(The group looks at the front and becomes shocked.)
(The gym looks demolished.)
Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika?! Eev?!" (What in?!)
(Pikachu and Eevee say, shocked.)
Brock: "That's it?"
(Brock says, shocked.)
Misty: "It's a wreck,"
(Misty says,)
man: "Blaine got tired of battling tourists who cared more about postcards and T-shirts than about Pokemon. That's when he abandoned the gym,"
(The man says.)
Mew: "But I'm not a tourist on vacation. I've trained hard so that I can earn a Volcano Badge,"
(Mew says.)
man: "I'm afraid you came to the wrong place, my friends,"
(The man says.)
(Misty says.)
Misty: "Don't worry Mew, I'm sure we'll think of something,"
man: "Mew?"
(The man says, confused.)
(Then ask.)
man: "You wouldn't happen to be Mew from Pallet Town?"
Mew: "Yes. I am, But how did you know?"
(Mew says.)
man: "Let's just say I knew Professor Oak and said that you and your friends have Pokemon fossils,"
(The man says.)
(Tomo says.)
Tomo: "We do."
man: "There's a Pokemon Lab not far from here that has just the thing to restore your Pokemon,"
(The man says.)
(Then Mew a card.)
man: "Here's my card. If you need anything."
(Mew takes the card and reads.)
Mew: "The Big Riddle Inn."
Misty: "An inn? How can you run a hotel and then blame tourists for ruining the island? That doesn't make any sense to me,"
(Misty says.)
(But when the group looks ahead, they see that the man is gone.)
Mew: "He's gone!"
(Mew says.)
(Then Brock says.)
Brock: "I wonder how he disappeared like that."
Mew: "Well then, let's go to the Pokemon Lab and see if we can get our fossils restored. Then we'll find a place to stay the night,"
(Mew says.)
(With that, Mew and her friends head off to the lab.)
(unaware that Team Rocket is close by.)
Jessie: "Not one cookie sold. Our snack stand's a flop. Isn't that just our luck, James?"
(Jessie says.)
(James says.)
James: "I'll say it is, Jessie. And we're right near that lab and it's packed with powerful Pokemon."
Meowth: "Guess that's how the cookie crumbles,"
(Meowth says.)
(Mew and her friends soon arrived at the Pokemon Lab.)
(The group walks inside to see there are many different Pokemon training and scientists studying them.)
(A scientist walks over and says.)
Scientist: "Hello, what can I do for you?"
Mew: "Hello. My name is Mew and these are my friends, and we're here to have our fossils restored,"
(Mew says.)
Scientist: "Of course. I've already been notified of your arrival,"
(The scientist says.)
