Stillness ensued, a long, unbearable minutes of it, and I pondered what was going through Drevon's mind, not until he spoke.
"We'll discuss this later. You can leave now."
"My liege."
I watched Garrick's shadow bow before walking to the door, and it slammed shut right after.
Drevon's shadow turned, and I could tell he was watching me. I was still in a lying position, so he couldn't tell I listened, right?
"Can't sleep, little wife?"
My blood ran cold. Of course, he knew! I heard his footsteps come closer, and I sat up, resting my back on the headboard.
The drapes spread open and revealed Drevon. He tipped his head and gave me one of his sweetest smiles, which got my heart racing.
"I'm more than thankful you finally ate something."
"I only ate because I didn't want you to spoon-feed me like a child," I confessed, just thinking about it made me shiver slightly.
