I walked to the mirror. I have been reluctant to do so the whole time, but I summoned the courage to do it.
I slowly placed my hands on my belly and exhaled softly. A child was growing inside me. I still can't handle this, especially when Celia mentioned there was a heartbeat.
I was confused and scared.
"Are you really in there?" I murmured. "Tell me if you are and give me ease." I pressed tightly. "Please."
The doors barged open. I peered at Drevon through the mirror. He caught my hands on my stomach, and I twirled, attempting to speak.
"I—" I couldn't finish because Drevon was on his knees and leaning to place his ear on my stomach.
"Drevon?" I blushed, wondering what he was doing. "I-I guess you got the news and—"
He was up on his feet, cupping my cheeks and smashing his lips against mine. I was taken by surprise, but I closed my eyes in bliss, kissing him right back until we matched rhythm.
