"This is more than enough."
Having her say those words to me was like I had won the best gift in the entire realm. I was proud of myself for doing this for her, realizing now it was something she truly needed.
Her garden wasn't just a garden anymore, but a special place.
"Here," I mumbled. "You must be thirsty."
She drank from the goblet, gulping down everything in one go.
I was worried. She hasn't had blood for some time now, and didn't look like she was about to go on a blood frenzy. I wonder if it's because of the baby that she doesn't have hunger for it anymore.
I'd have to monitor her more closely. I wish I could make her stay within the chambers for the rest of her pregnancy, but knowing Eloise, I knew she would fight me about it.
"So much for keeping the pregnancy a secret. The whispers in the empire are unlike any other," she said with a huff. "The wind carries them strongly. Certainly, the noble ladies will rant first."
"I should have handled it well."
