Chapter 12 - EDEN

Silas quickly pulled out his gun pointing it at Bane, who stood still looking at him.

A loud bang echoed throughout the arena as Sila's hand slightly went back.

Bane slightly moved his head, his eyes still fixed on silas, as a tiny silver bullet narrowly went past his face.

The next thing Malcon saw was a tiny bolt of lightning and Bane stood in front of Silas, his sword moving towards Silas's neck.

Silas quickly took a few steps back allowing the sword to cut mid air.

Malcon was surprised Silas was able to keep up Bane's speed, but what surprised him the most was when he saw Silas smile.

"Let's play, shall we?" he asked with a devilish smile on his face, his green eyes glowing.

"Let's do just that," Bane said coldly, pointing his sword at Silas.

A series of gunshots rang out, most of them hitting the sand as Bane skillfully evaded each one.

Malcon's mouth dropped open. He had never seen such speed, not even from Adrian.

Both of them were fast, and although Bane dodged the bullets, the relentless Silas kept firing. His shots barely grazed Bane, who was already on the move.

Running out of ammunition, Silas quickly reloaded, and in less than a second, he resumed shooting.

Malcon's eyes swept across the entire battlefield, struggling to keep up with Bane and the silver bullets that chased after him.

Suddenly, a streak of lightning shot up into the sky. Looking up, Malcon saw Bane suspended in midair.

Silas's gun jerked upward, but something made him pause.

A blade.

It came hurtling toward him like a death sentence.

He barely twisted out of the way in time, feeling the rush of displaced air as the sword struck the ground beside him with a thunderous clang.

Returning his gaze back at Bane. His eyes widened in surprise"where…where did he go"

Moving his eyes slightly, he caught sight of Bane standing right next to him.

Silas attempted to step back, but before he could, Bane's fist crashed into his chest, accompanied by a breathtaking shockwave that sent him flying.

Still airborne, he shot after Silas, his presence like a closing storm.

Silas, unwilling to focus on anything but Bane, aimed his gun once more and opened fire, causing Bane to slow down and change direction. Seeing how distracted Bane was, Silas quickly pulled out his dagger and slammed it into the ground breaking his fall.

Looking up, he saw Bane suspended in midair, his glowing sea-blue eyes staring down at him like Zeus himself.

"Fuck you, bitch!" Silas cursed as he resumed firing.

From Malcon's perspective, it seemed like Silas could no longer keep up. All he saw was a small lightning bolt darting across the battlefield and Silas struggling to shoot at Bane.

Silas quickly rolled out of the way as another lightning bolt streaked toward him. A massive shockwave rippled through the arena as Bane landed on the ground.

Unphased and maintaining a calm expression, Silas attempted to resume firing. But in the blink of an eye, Bane was suddenly in front of him. With a swift motion, Bane knocked the gun from Silas's hand while simultaneously delivering a powerful kick to his chest, sending him crashing through the sand, with an impact that rattled the ground.

"How many people are at the veteran rank?" the king asked.

"three my Lord. Megan, Bane and Silas." the captain listed.

"plus our dear Damian, who just heard a break through" the king reminded.

"Of course." my Lord.

From the swirling dust, a shadow emerged. Silas, rising to his feet.

Bane's gaze pierced through the haze, locking onto Silas. But something was different. Silas's eyes that were once a sharp green, were now flaming red.

Bane quickly took a defence stance, his right leg brought forward, as he clenched tightly to his sword.

The dust suddenly cleared as a red bullet bolted out moving towards Bane like a death sentence.

Bane's eyes widened in surprise on Seeing how fast the bullet propelled towards him. Trying to keep up with the speed, Bane quickly moved his head, allowing the bullet to graze his cheek.

"surprised," Silas asked with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Let's end this," Bane said, slowly cleaning the blood off his face.

"gladly" silas added, his eyes glowing even brighter.

"You're beneath me," Silas shouted, resuming fire.

But for a second Bane stood still with his eyes closed, his body slowly engulfed in sparks of lightning.

In a heartbeat, Bane stood in front of Silas, his sword narrowing towards his neck. Still wearing the devil's smile on his face, Silas pulled out his dagger defending himself.

A massive shock wave was sent through the arena as their sword collided. The force was to much that both silas and bane were sent flying.

"You're beneath me," Silas shouted again, his eyes glowing brighter.

He quickly resumed fire, his bullet faster than they were. Bane hardly evaded all of them as he used his sword to defend himself.

Malcon's eyes drifted through the arena, trying to keep up with bane speed, and Silas' bullet.

Silas smile quickly faded off his face, replaced with an annoyed expression.

"his out of ammunition" Malcon said to himself.

Silas quickly reloaded his gun as fast as he could, every move with Precision and speed. Raising his head up he attempted to resume fire, but his eyes widened in surprise as his gun split two.

"Don't move"

He had bane command as he felt his skin in contact with Bane's sword.

"I yield," Silas finally said.

"You're beneath me," Bane said, his voice as cold as ice.

"And we have a winner," Eckhard shouted, raising Bane's hand. And the whole arena erupted with cheers.

"These children's skills are quite admirable," the king commented.

"I myself am surprised by the level of skill they display, your Grace" Denrik added.

"The boy with a gun is particularly skillful, and I couldn't fully comprehend his magic."

"How so?" Denrik asked.

"It seemed as though when his eyes turned red, he somehow enchanted his bullet making it faster," the king said, with his hand on his jaw, still analysing the battle.

BANG!

A thunderous gunshot echoed across the battlefield.

Bane's eyes widened in shock as a crimson bullet hurtled toward him. He noticed it too late, there was barely any time to react, let alone dodge the bullet.

Eckhard lunged forward, reaching out with his bare hand in a desperate attempt to snatch the bullet from midair before it struck Bane's face.

"Shadow Void!"

To Eckhard's astonishment, a swirling vortex of darkness appeared, swallowing the bullet like a black hole.

"Shadow Void!"

To Eckhard's astonishment, a swirling vortex of darkness appeared, swallowing the bullet like a black hole.

It seemed as though everyone in the arena turned to Malcon including the king and Darius, who seemed as though he wanted to propel himself into the arena.

A sudden large shadow casted above Silas, raising his head, his eyes interlocked with Eckhard's underworldly blue eyes.

"You have violated the first rule of this duel, Silas Grave," Eckhard said, his deep voice sending a chill down Silas's spine.

"And because of that you'll be punished," he added.

Slowly he raised his hand to Silas forehead and effortlessly flicked his finger on his head.

Malcon's jaw dropped open as he saw the impact caused by Eckhard's finger.

A loud bang echoed throughout the arena, followed by a massive shock wave. Silas was sent crashing through the sand clearing the road as he went.

"That was too much, I didn't know you were that weak." Eckhard said, his face void of any expression.

Two medic appeared immediately and left with silas.

Eckhard slowly raised his head, allowing his eyes to interlock with Malcon blood red eyes.

"Shadow magic, that an Eden's ability" Daruis said, his eyes still fixed at Malcon.

"What's Eden doing here?" he asked, a little bit frightened.

"You should take a deep breath," the king suggested.

"Did you know he was an Eden?" the king asked the captain, allowing Daruis to calm himself down.

"Yes, your Grace," the captain answered.

"you should've reported to me the moment you found out"

"forgive me." the captain pleaded.

He turned back to Daruis who seemed to have calmed down.

"After the duel, find out everything you can about Eden…"

"Eden Malcon" the captain added.

"yes, Eden…Malcon" the king said

"Of course, your Grace."

Number 13, and number 24 the king called out.

"Let's see what you have, Eden," the king said.

Malcon could feel the king's cold gaze on him as walked into the battlefield.

The wall of weapons appeared and Malcon picked a sword, as he walked into the arena.

His oponeent was Nicolas cage, a boy with black hair that fell neatly on his head. He had a well curved oval face and a pale skin. His pitch black eyes fixed at Malcon as he walked into the arena carrying his own sword.

Cage like Adrian, rarely talked. But unlike Adrian he had one of the most feared ability.

Cage eyes allows him to see his opponents next move, and Malcon didn't know how he was going to fight against a guy who knew exactly what he wanted to do.

'I may as well forfeit.' he said to himself, looking at the crowd and sighed as he saw Bane laughing at him.

"Fight" Eckhard shouted, commercing the dule, with his gaze still on Malcon
