Chapter 307 - Chapter 307: Post-Transformation Strength

"Patriarch, we've only just ascended to the Great Thousand World, and there's still much we don't understand. Would you be willing to enlighten us a little?" Seeing that Tianhuang had agreed to bring Qing Tan along to the Nine Nether Bird Clan, Xiao Yan took the opportunity to ask. What he most wanted to understand right now was how strength was ranked in the Great Thousand World—and where he currently stood.

Tianhuang knew exactly what Xiao Yan was after. As he led the two through the air on their way back to the Nine Nether Bird Clan, he began to explain the basic knowledge and cultivation hierarchy of the Great Thousand World.

The Great Thousand World was the confluence of countless planes. It held innumerable continents. Just like on the Dou Qi Continent, where races and powers varied in strength, the same applied here. Continents were ranked according to their size or overall strength.

Continents like the Dou Qi Continent or Tianxuan Continent were considered ordinary here. Neither outstanding nor feeble, they sat squarely in the middle. Among the sea of lower-ranked continents, there existed ten that were widely recognized as the largest and most prosperous—these were known as the Super Continents.

However, that didn't mean the Super Continents were necessarily the strongest. Some ancient races resided on lesser-known continents with terrifying foundations far surpassing the Super Continents. And some continents, despite housing many powerful individuals, were constantly plagued by conflict and strife, leaving their collective strength lacking.

The ranking system in the Great Thousand World was not as meticulous as that of the Dou Qi Continent. Rather, it was similar to the elemental force system that Qing Tan cultivated. Spiritual energy cultivation began with sensing spiritual energy—thus, the first realm was called the Sensing Spiritual Stage. This was followed by the Spiritual Movement Stage and Spiritual Wheel Realm.

These were equivalent to Dou Zhe and Dou Shi on the Dou Qi Continent—practically the lowest level of strength here. One tier above them was the Divine Soul Realm, which held some actual power. If one was lucky enough to hide in some remote corner of the world, life could be lived comfortably.

Above that came the Three Heavens Stage—not a single realm, but a sequence of three: Heavenly Fusion, Heavenly Transformation, and Heavenly Completion. These served as the gateway to the Sovereign Stage. In certain continents, those who reached these levels could already be considered pillars of power. And in the lower planes, such individuals could dominate entire worlds.

However, to truly establish a foothold in the Great Thousand World, one had to break into the Sovereign Stage. Only then could they be considered a true powerhouse. In fact, the Dou Di and Ancestor levels from their world were equivalent to Sovereigns here. Anyone at this level could easily become a continent master.

Of course, this only applied to small or mid-tier continents. On larger ones—or even Super Continents—a Sovereign could barely scrape by. Only Earth Sovereigns held real influence, and only Heavenly Sovereigns were considered true legends.

"Is there a realm above the Heavenly Sovereign?" Xiao Yan asked. Though Tianhuang had called them the pinnacle, Xiao Yan felt there had to be something even higher.

"There probably is…" Tianhuang replied. "To this day, no one has definitively surpassed the Heavenly Sovereign level, but everyone who reaches it believes there's still more beyond. I myself haven't reached that realm, so I can't say for certain."

He sighed and continued, "I'm only at the Greater Earth Sovereign level. Just reaching Perfected Earth Sovereign will take hundreds of years, let alone Heavenly Sovereign. Without a special opportunity, I likely won't see it in my lifetime."

"Patriarch Tianhuang, what level are Xiao Yan and I at right now?" Qing Tan asked. She had a rough sense of her own standing, but Xiao Yan's case was more complicated—even he might not be sure.

"You've just stepped into the Sovereign Realm," Tianhuang said. "As for Xiao Yan, the spiritual energy within him is at the peak of Fifth Grade Sovereign… but only in terms of energy strength. He hasn't truly reached Fifth Grade Sovereign level."

"Why not?" Xiao Yan asked.

"Because neither of you has cultivated a Sovereign Avatar."

"A Sovereign Avatar? What's that?" The unfamiliar term left both Xiao Yan and Qing Tan blinking in surprise.

"It's a unique ability only available to Sovereigns. You could say it's the defining mark of having stepped into that realm. Once summoned, it can manifest into a form as tall as ten thousand feet—its fists can shatter the heavens, its steps crack the earth. Every move carries cataclysmic power," Tianhuang explained. "That's why most people believe only those who've formed their own Sovereign Avatar are true Sovereigns."

Hearing this, Xiao Yan suddenly thought of his Flame Emperor Form. He wondered if the Dou Di Avatars from his world counted. Qing Tan also remembered the battle between Xiao Yan and the Evil Demon Emperor, when they had each become towering colossi. She quickly asked, "In our world, we could enlarge our bodies to that size with our own power. Does that count as a Sovereign Avatar?"

"What you condensed in the lower planes does count as a Sovereign Avatar," Tianhuang replied. "But only the lowest tier."

"The lowest tier? You mean there are levels to Sovereign Avatars?" Xiao Yan asked. He had assumed they were like Dou Qi Armor—something that manifested automatically at a certain level. But it seemed that wasn't the case at all.

"Of course," Tianhuang chuckled. "The average Sovereign Avatar is just a spiritual energy construct, lacking special traits. These are unranked. But in the Great Thousand World, there exists a ranking of Sovereign Avatars—ninety-nine tiers in total. Each tier may include several types, but any Avatar ranked is guaranteed to have true power."

"That said, some powerful Avatars are so rarely seen that they aren't ranked at all. But they're no weaker than the ninety-nine. So don't assume that only ranked Avatars are strong—some nameless ones are equally fearsome."

"I see." Xiao Yan nodded lightly, though inwardly, he grew curious. His Flame Emperor Form was condensed from Heavenly Flames—it had to be stronger than most ordinary Avatars. He wondered where it would rank among the ninety-nine tiers.

"Still," Tianhuang added, "we divine beasts don't need to cultivate Sovereign Avatars. We have our own beast forms. In terms of raw power, they're no weaker—so you needn't waste energy searching for one."
