"Over the past six months, she has either been in Shrek City or inspecting the eighteen Pillar Cities. Star Luo Continent? She has neither the time nor the reason to go!" His tone was firm and filled with the confidence of one who controls everything.
"Are you certain?" The Ghost Emperor's voice was cold and devoid of emotion.
"Absolutely!" Qiangu Dongfeng replied impatiently. "Our Spirit Pagoda intelligence network has at least that much confidence. Why do you ask?"
"It's nothing, just a minor matter I needed to confirm." The Ghost Emperor's voice returned to its usual unemotional rasp. "Since the Pagoda Master is so certain, then it's settled. Await good news."
The red light on the communicator abruptly extinguished, severing the connection completely.
Qiangu Dongfeng stared at the now-dark screen, his brows furrowing slightly. The Ghost Emperor's final question had been unexpected. The Star Luo Continent… Could something have happened to the Holy Spirit Sect's stronghold there? But it was none of his concern.
As long as the Ghost Emperor agreed to eliminate those young brats from Shrek Academy, that was all that mattered.
He turned back toward the window, gazing at the brilliantly lit Shrek Academy below. His expression grew even more sinister and icy, as if he were staring at a kingdom on the verge of collapse.
"Let's collect some interest first…" Qiangu Dongfeng muttered under his breath, his voice like a chilling wind from the netherworld. "Shrek… Your doom is not far off."
Meanwhile, on the other end of the communication, deep within a dark space shrouded in dense death qi and resentment, a figure cloaked in a wide black robe slowly lowered the communicator. His gaunt fingers tapped lightly on the cold armrest, producing a hollow echo.
"Leng Yaozhu… Hasn't set foot in the Star Luo Continent?" Beneath the Ghost Emperor's hood, two crimson points of light flickered faintly, tinged with suspicion—and a hint of anger at being deceived.
Deep within the Star Luo Continent, an important experimental base and soul master training site operated by the Holy Spirit Sect for many years had recently been wiped out by an unknown force.
In the ruins, traces of residual flame energy lingered—pure, domineering, and imbued with a sacred aura that burned away all evil. Its characteristics bore an uncanny resemblance to the martial soul abilities of the legendary Heavenly Phoenix Douluo, Leng Yaozhu!
Every evil soul master stationed at the base, including a Super Douluo elder whom the Ghost Emperor held in high regard, had perished. The Super Douluo had been incinerated into ash with a single strike.
No valuable clues were left behind—only the pure essence of Phoenix True Fire remained, like a resounding slap across his face.
The Ghost Emperor had always suspected that Leng Yaozhu herself had struck. In the current era, only she possessed such overwhelming flame capabilities to cleanly annihilate a stronghold guarded by a Super Douluo.
Yet Qiangu Dongfeng had confidently claimed she hadn't been there!
"Qiangu Dongfeng… Is your intelligence network truly infallible?" The Ghost Emperor's voice hissed like a venomous snake, echoing through the deathly silence. "Or could it be… you're deliberately hiding something?"
His crimson eyes glimmered with dangerous intent. While eliminating those young monsters from Shrek was a priority, uncovering the truth behind the destruction of the Star Luo base was equally imperative.
If Qiangu Dongfeng's intelligence was flawed—or worse, if he was covering something up—their fragile "cooperation" would need to be reassessed.
Though their alliance had always been one of mutual deception.
"Heavenly Phoenix True Fire…" The Ghost Emperor murmured the words, his icy killing intent mingling with a rising desire for investigation.
His voice low, he pressed a new number.
"Dark Phoenix…"

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the Shrek delegation had bid farewell to Sun Moon Academy and boarded a custom-made soul-guided flying vessel for their return journey.
Traveling by soul-guided train was too risky, so Gu La refused to take that route. Of course, the presence of Zhuo Shi and Cai Yue'er, two senior members of the academy, also played a role.
Victory over Sun Moon should have been cause for celebration, but the atmosphere inside the cabin was tense.
The terrifying power displayed by Bai Yuan and Mu Yi—especially Bai Yuan's devouring martial soul—had not only intimidated external foes but also sent ripples through the calm waters of Shrek's internal dynamics.
Zhuo Shi and Cai Yue'er sat with their eyes closed, feigning rest, but their brows were slightly furrowed.
They could sense that apprehension toward Gu La's group had reached its peak among the academy's upper echelons—including themselves.
Without Yun Ming's support, Shrek Academy would never have allowed Gu La, whose identity was still questionable, to act freely. The academy needed geniuses—but not uncontrollable "monster groups" that could spark controversy.
The power Gu La's team demonstrated had already touched a sensitive nerve among certain individuals. They were too strong—too strong to be mere students, too strong to not evoke unsettling comparisons.
Leaning against the porthole, Gu La gazed at the swiftly passing clouds below, his gaze deep and contemplative. He was acutely aware of the growing wariness.
Exposing their strength was a double-edged sword. It had deterred enemies but also invited internal suspicion.
Gu La understood that Shrek's towering legacy could not fall—not yet. But the tangled branches within the institution inevitably harbored their own ambitions.
Still, this was not the time to prune them.
And besides, he didn't need to play the villain. In time, others would step forward to weed out the rot within Shrek Academy.
Just as the flying vessel soared over a desolate expanse of towering mountains, an abrupt change occurred!
Without warning, four terrifying presences—cold, violent, and saturated with bloodlust—rose like colossal pillars from below, instantly locking onto the rapidly moving soul-guided craft!
"Ambush!!"
Zhuo Shi and Cai Yue'er snapped open their eyes, their Super Douluo auras erupting as they attempted to stabilize the vessel and locate the enemy.
But the attack came like lightning, meticulously planned and executed!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three pitch-black beams of soul power, thick with corrosion and devouring energy, lashed out like judgments from hell. They struck with pinpoint accuracy at three critical nodes of the vessel's soul energy flow system, directly targeting its propulsion system!
The vessel violently shook, its protective barrier emitting a sorrowful groan before shattering entirely. The craft tilted sharply, trailing black smoke as it plummeted downward.
Simultaneously, a fourth, even more formidable presence materialized above the vessel like a ghost, blocking Zhuo Shi and Cai Yue'er from rescuing it.
A figure cloaked in a wide black robe, wearing a grotesque ghost mask, emerged. Suspended around him were seven black and two red soul rings—marking him as a Title Douluo, and a Super Douluo at that.
With a wave of his desiccated hand, a massive ghostly claw formed from pure darkness surged forth, tearing through space with a piercing shriek. It descended directly toward the core of the cabin, targeting Gu La and the other students!
"Evil soul masters! Three Title Douluo, one Super Douluo!" Cai Yue'er shouted sharply. Her Silver Moon martial soul blazed overhead as her three-word battle armor enveloped her body, radiating a surge of silver light resembling the descent of the moon itself, preparing to meet the Super Douluo's ghostly claw head-on.
