"Haaaah…" 

I don't even know how many times I've sighed tonight. My throat feels dry from it. That bastard … no, screw that, I'm the bastard here. Because what kind of idiot keeps clinging to something that's never gonna happen? Hoping it'll magically turn real, even if it's just in my head. 

Didn't I already tell myself? Me and him, we're never gonna be a we. 

He's an Alpha. Not just any Alpha, but the head of a powerful Pack, the kind that makes people bow without a word. And me? I'm just a male omega. What kind of fool thinks a guy like him would ever accept me as his fated mate just because I'm carrying his kid? 

I don't even know how long I've been walking. The sidewalk stretches on like it's endless, sunlight bouncing off car windows, stabbing at my eyes like little shards. Every breath feels heavy. Ever since I stormed out of that restaurant, my stomach's been cramping.
