[Inside the Quantum Space of the Steam Furnace]
The aftershock from the Black Rook's explosion had yet to disperse when a disheveled figure stumbled out of the scorched smoke.
Bai Kong clutched his right shoulder, which had been blown into a bloody mess. He grinned, revealing blood-stained teeth, his arrogance showing no signs of diminishing despite his injuries.
"Tsk, tsk, worthy of the Tendo Fated One. The force is certainly powerful, but…"
As he spoke, a black energy enveloped Bai Kong's injured shoulder, rapidly healing the wounds. Throughout the process, Bai Kong continued to taunt the Tendo with complete audacity.
"...is that all you've got? I don't think you're all that."
In response, the Tendo simply gave him a calm glance.
"If your strength is only enough for you to spout such empty words, then I may have to retract my previous evaluation of you."
"After all, you are no different from the ants I've encountered before."
"Ptooey!"
Bai Kong spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground. The black mist on his shoulder had completely healed his injuries, leaving only his tattered sleeve to show his earlier defeat.
He looked at the Tendo and said venomously, "Tendo Fated One, I've heard others say that before, but they all ended up becoming nourishment for my body."
Bai Kong's eyes were still filled with arrogance and recklessness, as if this guy was born unable to bow his head.
As he spoke, the corner of Bai Kong's eye quickly caught a glimpse of the squinting guy secretly moving toward the Steam Furnace in the distance. He suddenly laughed.
"But since you want me to get serious, I'll grant your wish."
He shook his newly regenerated arm and slowly dropped the defiant expression from his face, becoming serious and focused.
"After all, using this trash's body to fight you is a bit restrictive."
Watching the on-screen Bai Kong, who despite spouting a constant stream of bravado, had just been slapped around twice by the Tendo, the dimensional audience couldn't help but complain.
'Bro Bai, maybe you should say a little less. Even I feel like you're asking to get hit.'
'Talking the biggest talk, huh? Get ready for the heaviest beating!'
'Bro Bai, just shut up already! You're planting more flags than a power line crew!'
'Something's not right. I feel like I've seen this scene before. Let me re-watch it (funny.jpg).'
As the bullet comments scrolled wildly across the dimensional screen, the left side of Bai Kong's body was suddenly consumed by a dense black mist.
A bone-like 'armor' began to grow rapidly along the left side of Bai Kong's skin, eventually covering half of his chest.
On his forehead, a curved horn pierced through the skin, glowing with a cold, hard light.
However, what was truly shocking was not the change in Bai Kong's appearance, but the massive, sky-obscuring phantom that quietly appeared behind him.
Although the phantom's appearance was brief, the fleeting sight of its gigantic vertical pupil still caused a strange spiritual tremor in the dimensional audience through the screen.
Just one eye is this big. I can't imagine how big his full form would be. Could it be bigger than a planet?
The scene then shifted to the Tendo.
Faced with Bai Kong's obvious "form change" and "power boost," the Tendo's reaction was calm, and he directly revealed the secret behind it.
"Half-Star Carcification, huh? Things are finally getting interesting."
Although Bai Kong and the six-year-old memory projection of the Tendo had a brief encounter in Chen Kong's soul space, this meant nothing to the real-life Tendo.
According to the script from the Star Group's production team, this was the first time the Tendo should be seeing Bai Kong and witnessing his "Half-Star Carcification."
His reaction was consistent with a "first-time" encounter.
Through Half-Star Carcification, Bai Kong's base Star Energy instantly surged, and his other attributes also saw a phenomenal increase.
It could be said that while there was still a significant gap between the current Bai Kong and the Tendo in terms of the six fundamental attributes, the difference was no longer as vast as it was at the beginning.
Without any further ado, Bai Kong gripped the ethereal Void Weaver in his left hand and the humming Black Star longsword in his right, immediately launching an attack on the Tendo.
His figure flickered, and while still in mid-air, his left hand pulled the trigger on the Void Weaver.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bai Kong's gunshots rang out before he even arrived.
Three ethereal Void-Marked bullets tore through the air, their sharp, distorted screams heading straight for the Tendo's face.
But strangely, although Bai Kong fired three Void-Marked bullets, two of them suddenly vanished!
In response, the Tendo did something rare, drawing the Star Crusher from his waist.
Clang!
With a crisp metallic sound, the Tendo sliced open the first Void-Marked bullet Bai Kong had fired.
Then, the Tendo casually flicked his wrist, and the Star Crusher in his hand carved a strange arc, swinging into an empty space.
A second later, a crisp metallic clang sounded behind the Tendo.
A Void-Marked bullet, its presence concealed by the 'Void Mark,' was instantly cleaved by the Tendo, its Star Energy dissipating into a myriad of light specks before vanishing.
And just after this strike, the Tendo tilted his head slightly.
An invisible stream of air grazed his cheek and landed with a "boom" on the ground behind him.
This was the last Void-Marked bullet Bai Kong had fired.
Throughout this process, the Tendo's movements were smooth and fluid, carrying a kind of casual elegance.
It was as if for him, the so-called "presence nullification" was just a ridiculous joke.
However, Bai Kong never intended to injure the Tendo with just this little trick.
Taking advantage of the time it took for the Tendo to deal with the Void-Marked bullets, Bai Kong had already arrived in front of him, launching a storm of attacks.
"That's a little interesting."
Facing Bai Kong's fierce and relentless onslaught, the Tendo appeared completely relaxed.
His swings were not fast, nor were they frequent, but each time the Star Crusher swung, it landed precisely on a weak point of the Black Star's blade.
While blocking Bai Kong's attacks, he also gave him a few words of praise.
"Using Void Marks to conceal the trajectory of your bullets. Bai Kong, you are indeed much stronger than that kid, Chen Kong, in terms of Star Energy control."
Bai Kong acted as if he hadn't heard the Tendo's praise at all. His attacks grew more desperate, and the Void Weaver in his left hand continuously fired ethereal Void-Marked bullets, trying to tear apart the imperceptible vector shield around the Tendo—"Omnidirectional Rejection."
