Chapter 12:

Rayn had always seen the mage role as too flashy.

Too reliant on teammates. Too focused on burst.

But Seris was different.

She didn't just deal damage — she influenced space.

Her waves revealed hidden ambushes.

Her mist silenced chaos.

Her ultimate didn't dominate — it shaped the battlefield.

He entered the match.

Mid lane, solo.

> "So this is what it feels like to see the map from the center," he muttered.

Seris moved like water — smooth, unpredictable, patient.

The enemy mid was aggressive, constantly poking.

Rayn didn't retaliate.

He cast his wave to scout nearby bushes.

He used the mist to cut off the jungle entrance when the enemy jungler vanished.

His teammate got ganked in top lane.

Rayn didn't rotate.

He pinged: "Watch out. Enemy jungle missing."

Ten seconds later, first blood — on the enemy, not him.

As the match moved into midgame, Rayn noticed something.

The other mage — stronger on paper — kept missing skillshots.

They were rushing. Panicking.

He wasn't.

He was shaping fights before they began.

Positioning his dome in tight spaces.

Silencing the assassin before they could blink.

> "I'm not here to delete enemies," he thought.

"I'm here to remove their options."

And for the first time, a stranger typed:
