Chapter 100 - Both Friends Became Godmothers.

Chapter 100: Both Friends Became Godmothers.

After the amazing reconciliation between Beauty and Roy, it almost felt like their once happy relationship had returned to its original sweetness. Beauty decided to stay with him for some time, cherishing the bond they were rebuilding.

Both lovers enjoyed each other's presence; they were grateful to regain the love they had once lost.

"Dear, you don't have to stress yourself. I promise to do everything for you," Roy would always say, especially whenever Beauty tried getting up to cook or tidy something.

But early that morning, Beauty felt strangely different-almost full, as if she had already eaten a heavy meal before even waking up. She stood at the entrance of the kitchen, drawn by the delicious aroma floating from within.

Just as she reached for the door, Roy's voice came from behind her.

"What happened, baby? Why have you been standing there so long without going in?" he asked with mild amusement.

He thought she looked so cute from where he stood, and his heart warmed.

"Huh? Oh... going in? I'll go now." She forced a smile and opened the kitchen door.

But the moment she stepped inside, a completely different scent hit her. It was sharp, suffocating-so different from what she had smelled outside. Her stomach turned violently. Without thinking, she slammed the door shut and dashed upstairs.

"Urrrrrrghh!" Her voice roared as she vomited into the restroom sink.

"Babe! What happened?" Roy rushed in behind her, panic tightening his chest. He quickly held her hair back, then helped her wash her hands. "Did you eat something bad?" he asked anxiously.

"No... not at all," Beauty whispered, resting weakly against his chest.

Roy hugged her tightly, his voice soothing. "It's fine, babe. Everything's fine."

---

Beauty had been working from home ever since she started staying at Roy's place. Later that day, she decided to visit her pregnant friend, Flora.

After carefully picking her outfit, she stepped out with elegance and slid into her car. Roy, of course, had kissed her multiple times before she left, reluctant to let her go.

"Bye, baby," she said with a soft laugh, waving as she finally drove away.

Flora had already been informed about Beauty's visit and was waiting eagerly.

When Beauty arrived, Flora rushed to greet her. "Hey, darling, I couldn't wait to see you," she said, smiling brightly as she hugged her best friend.

"Hey mama, don't let your husband hear you call me that. You want him to blame me?" Beauty teased instantly.

Flora laughed, her voice echoing with joy. "Hahaha... you'll never change."

Still holding her hand, Beauty added seriously, "And don't stress yourself too much, please. Your husband won't like it-nor me either."

"Have your seat, dear." Flora pointed toward the sofa.

The two friends sat facing each other. For a moment, silence filled the room-so loud that Beauty could even hear faint movements somewhere deeper inside the house.

"Who's that?" she asked with a slight frown.

"Oh, those are the maids," Flora explained. "Some of them were just newly employed yesterday."

"Alright, dear, just... be careful. Especially in your present situation."

Flora nodded. "No problem, bestie. I'll be fine."

A knock interrupted them, and a man in his late thirties entered, dressed in a clean white coat. His presence was calm, professional, yet welcoming.

"Oh, Doctor Jacob," Flora said warmly. He had been newly appointed by her father to oversee her prenatal care.

"Hello, Mrs. Silver," he greeted with a polite smile, then nodded to Beauty as well.

"Is it time already?" Flora asked, slightly reluctant.

"Yes, Mrs. Silver. Let's do a quick checkup," Jacob said gently.

Flora pouted playfully, her eyes wide as though she would cry. Beauty couldn't help laughing at her expression, only to choke on it. Flora quickly called for water, still teasing her.

When the checkup was complete, Dr. Jacob packed his tools. "Everything is fine, Mrs. Silver. The baby is healthy, and so are you."

"Thank God," Flora sighed in relief.

Jacob hesitated, then glanced at Beauty. "If I may ask... is she your friend?"

"Yes, doctor. Why?" Flora tilted her head curiously.

"Well, forgive me, but she looks a little pale. Would you mind if I ran a quick test?"

Beauty shifted nervously, glancing at Flora.

"I noticed it too," Flora said. "Bestie, you've been looking tired. Don't you think so?"

Beauty shook her head quickly. "Sick? No, I'm not. Lately, I just feel weak... maybe from overworking. That must be it."

Jacob smiled patiently. "Still, let's be sure. Just a simple test, ma'am?"

Beauty sighed but nodded. "Alright then. Please, be quick."

A few minutes later, Jacob returned with a calm but bright smile.

"Ma'am," he said, "congratulations. You're pregnant."

"What?" Beauty gasped, her eyes wide.

"Awwnnn! My bestie is also pregnant!" Flora squealed with joy, springing up to hug her. Her laughter was full of tears. "This is amazing-we'll be mothers together! And listen-" she pulled Beauty close-"we'll each be godmother to the other's child. How about that?"

Beauty's shock melted into a smile, tears filling her eyes. "Awwnnn, yes!"

The two friends hugged tightly, their laughter and joy echoing through the room, while Doctor Jacob quietly packed his things and left with a smile of his own.

Just as the two friends sat together, smiling and exchanging soft words, their hearts brimmed with gratitude for the beautiful blessings life had suddenly placed in their hands.

A maid slipped quietly into the room, lowering her head in respect.

"Good morning, young madam," she greeted gently. "Your friend is here-Miss Fiona."

Caught up in their joy, Beauty never expected Fiona to arrive at such a perfect moment-right in the middle of their little celebration.

The door eased open, and Fiona stepped in with quiet grace. Her suit was cut to perfection, every fold and line sharpening her elegance, the kind of attire that made each step command attention. The soft click of her heels echoed across the polished floor as her calm eyes swept over the room, carrying a poise that seemed to brighten the space the instant she entered.

Flora shot up to her feet, her face glowing with excitement. Beauty followed quickly, clapping her hands in delight as she hurried to embrace her.

"Fiona!" Flora exclaimed, pulling her close. "You couldn't have chosen a better moment to come."

Fiona smiled softly, her gaze lingering warmly on Flora before shifting to Beauty, who already had tears glistening in her eyes for reasons she couldn't explain. They all settled together, and soon the laughter from moments earlier filled the room again, richer and louder than before.

Flora leaned forward suddenly, her voice trembling with happiness. "I have a secret to tell."

Beauty's head lifted in curiosity, while Fiona tilted her head with a knowing smile.

"Go on, Flora. You're glowing like a candle. What is it?" she teased.

Flora reached for Fiona's hand, her eyes shimmering. "This morning... we discovered something. Beauty is pregnant."

The words struck the air like a spark before bursting into flame. Fiona gasped so loudly it echoed, then threw her arms around Beauty, nearly toppling her from her chair.

"Oh my goodness! Beauty! A baby! Do you hear me? You're going to be a mother!" Fiona's joy was unrestrained, tears spilling freely down her cheeks.

Beauty laughed softly, one hand brushing across her stomach with a tenderness Flora had never seen before. "Yes," she whispered, her voice steady yet heavy with emotion. "It still feels unreal."

Fiona blinked through her tears, then straightened with a smile that held its own secret. "I've got news too, everyone."

Both Flora and Beauty froze, staring at her with wide eyes, their hearts racing for what more could possibly top this. Fiona's lips curved slowly into a radiant smile.

"Gad and I..." she paused, her eyes shining with certainty, "...we've decided. We're getting married soon."

Flora gasped, covering her mouth with her palm, trembling with joy. Beauty shrieked and clapped like a child. "First a baby, then a wedding? God has truly poured His blessings upon us, Fiona!"

The room erupted with overlapping voices, embraces, and laughter that felt as if it stitched their souls tighter together. Flora closed her eyes briefly and whispered a prayer of thanks, while Beauty raised her glass of juice high as though making a toast before the world.

"To all of us," she declared, her voice carrying both strength and warmth. "To the babies-and to a wedding that will outshine even the moon!"

Their laughter rang through the room, their joy weaving a moment none of them would ever forget.

~~~~~~~
Earlier that day...
The James mansion was quieter than usual that evening, but there was still an undertone of expectancy that ran through the air. The golden chandeliers glimmered warmly, casting soft light over the long mahogany table set in the private dining room. Gad sat at one end, composed yet visibly eager, his sharp features softened by the anticipation that had been building for weeks. At his side, Fiona sat in her perfectly fitted dress, every movement measured yet natural.
It wasn't just another dinner-it was the family meeting. The moment where two households, bound by respect and affection, would finalize what love had already written.
On Gad's side, the James had gathered. Though some were absent due to urgent business, Fiona sat with grace, her calm presence filling the seat beside her husband to be. James Beatrice, glowing with her own new joy, leaned slightly forward as though she didn't want to miss a single detail. Beside her, James Vincent, always protective of her sister-in-law, nodded warmly in approval.
From Fiona's side came her parents, seasoned yet elegant, with a pride that radiated quietly through every word and glance. Her mother's eyes barely left Fiona, a mixture of tenderness and gratitude reflecting in them-she had waited to see this day, when her daughter would not only be loved but celebrated.
After the greetings, wine was poured and the conversations began light, circling around family, memories, and blessings. But soon, Gad cleared his throat, his tone steady but his hand brushing lightly over Fiona's under the table.
"With your permission," he began, looking at both families, "we'd like to move forward with our wedding plans. Fiona and I believe it's time to take the next step, and we want your blessings on when and how we should proceed."
There was a pause-just long enough for the weight of his words to settle. Fiona's father leaned back slightly, folding his hands together, his voice calm but firm.
"We see your sincerity, Gad. It is not just about marrying our daughter-it is about becoming part of her, protecting her, honoring her. We must be sure both families are not only prepared but aligned."
Fiona's mother added softly, "And we must also think of timing. A union like this deserves not only joy but wisdom."
Gad's Father exchanged a glance with his wife , then leaned forward, his voice warm and encouraging.
"The James are ready to embrace Fiona as our own. We've already seen how she strengthens Gad, how she brings balance to him. Timing is important, yes-but their love shouldn't be delayed unnecessarily."
Gad's mother added, her tone teasing but heartfelt, added, "Besides, if we wait too long, Gad might just get impatient and carry her off himself."
The room broke into soft laughter, easing the tension. Even Fiona, who had been so composed, allowed herself a genuine smile as Gad gave Vincent a playful glare.
After the laughter settled, Fiona's father spoke again, his tone decisive this time.
"Very well. If both of you are ready, and both families are agreed, then let us set a date. What are your thoughts?"
It was Fiona who finally spoke, her voice steady, her gaze sweeping across both families before settling on Gad.
"We've discussed it, quietly, between ourselves. We don't want to wait too long. But we also don't want it rushed. A moment like this should be celebrated, not hurried past. We thought... two months from now."
Her words hung in the air. Two months-enough time for preparation, for families to gather, for arrangements to be made, yet not so far that the flame of anticipation would cool.
Gad's mother clasped her hands in delight. "Two months is perfect. The season will be kind, and it gives us enough time to prepare something worthy of both of you."
Fiona's father nodded slowly, considering. Then he broke into the faintest smile. "Two months it is, then. May your union be blessed, and may both houses prosper through it."
Glasses were raised, the clink of crystal echoing softly in the room. Fiona felt Gad squeeze her hand beneath the table, his grip firm but tender.
The date was set. The families had agreed. And for the first time that night, Fiona allowed herself to imagine the wedding-her steps down the aisle, Gad waiting at the altar, their vows spoken before family, before God, before destiny itself.
It was no longer just a dream. It was decided.
