Pixie-Bob's Quirk dumped the Class 1-A's students down the cliff, covered in dirt.
Coughing loudly, the boys and girls pulled out their limbs from the mud, and the very first thing that landed in their eyes was a dense, dark forest.
"Oi!" Mandalay shouted, bending over the railing. "The entire forest is private land! Feel free to use your Quirks as you wish… because you will need them!"
Need it?!
Dusting themselves off, the puzzled students looked up at the Pro Hero.
"You have three hours!" Mandalay continued, grinning. "Come to the facility within that time, kitties! Or — No Lunch! That would be sad… Hehe… After getting through this — Beasts Forest!"
"… Beasts Forest?!" Gasps rang between the students.
As if that was a cue, suddenly, loud thuds echoed out of the forest.
"Oi…" Kaminari noticed something odd. "… Where's Mineta?!"
"He…" Mina stuttered. "… went to the forest to…"
Mina couldn't complete her sentence, though.
Mineta's scream reverberated in the very next moment, spooking the birds and students alike.
…
Up on the mountain, Pixie-Bob grinned, keeping an eye on the students.
The entire forest had monitoring devices, and she received a direct visual-audio feed through her headgear.
Using Earth Flow Quirk, she could freely manipulate any patch of Earth in a 1000-meter radius around her as long as she could see it. Not only that, but she could also create extremely lifelike monsters made of mud, adding an unnatural element to the challenge.
So, combined with the mini cameras installed all across the forest between here and the campsite, she could use her Quirk without intervening with the students' quest.
"… Are you sure they can handle themselves, Erasure?" Mandalay asked.
Aizawa sighed. "… Handle?" he smirked. "They are going to make a joke out of those beasts…"
Mandalay's brows rose at that remark, but Erasure Head knew his students. If he ignored a handful of students from UA from earlier years, then he considered Class 1-A to possess the most terrifying potential in his teaching career.
And it wasn't like this potential was concentrated in a few individuals.
Class 1-A's students held an outstanding zeal to outdo each other, pushing themselves beyond boundaries.
When Aizawa told Mandalay this, she found it hard to believe. "… You aren't just saying that to be nice, right?" she asked.
In reply, Erasure Head pointed up.
Mandalay lifted her head, and a massive gust of wind hit her face.
It was so powerful that it created a cloud of dust on the parking spot, forcing both the ladies to hold onto their short skirts.
"… Sir!" Luke shouted, seated on a car-sized Nyx, who looked like a pissed-off wyvern. "… I didn't think you would make us fight a bunch of NPCs!"
As Mandalay and Pixie-Bob's eyes shook, even the boy who had been locked in the car slid out from the open window and gawked at the sight.
Nyx's monstrous gaze landed on him.
The boy's legs shook.
Suddenly, in the next moment, Nyx lost her monstrous form with a poof, and Luke fell on the ground on his butt.
"… Ouch!" Luke stood up, holding his back. "That's not fair…"
Erasure Head's hair fell after he had canceled Luke's Quirk. "Go, join the others," he said. "If you want to take the sky route, then do it from the starting point."
Holding his back, Luke shook his head and walked away, Nyx landing on his shoulder.
As he went for the railing, he looked at the scared boy and made a peace sign. "… Want an autograph?"
"Go!" Erasure Head snapped.
"… Tch…" Luke lampooned. "… Why only others get to farm aura?"
Then, putting his hand on the railing, Luke jumped over the cliff.
With her jaw hanging low, Mandalay looked at Erasure Head. "… I didn't even see him using his Quirk," she mumbled.
"Yeah, well…" Aizawa scratched his beard. "Luke's a special case. Don't worry about him. You got the gist, I guess. These little ones are growing stronger, but not fast enough. Villain activities are on an all-time high… internationally. We have all decided to up the students' game. Hopefully, this Training Camp will be a good launching pad for that."
"Hmm…" Mandalay held her chin. "Is that why — you called those two?"
Aizawa nodded. "Luke is smart," he said, grinning. "But… he will be disappointed if he thinks the forest only has NPCs."
…
Down in the forest, the students gaped as a massive, dog-like monster took form in the darkness and towered over Mineta.
No eyes. No nose. No ears.
It was like a crudely shaped creature, possessing sharp claws and fangs.
Mineta peed his pants.
The bus-sized lifted its paw and slammed.
A boom rang out, shaking the earth as if the Pro Hero had created a tsunami of mud all over again.
As most of the students gasped, fortunately, the beast's paw failed its mark.
Midoriya rolled on the ground, carrying Mineta in his arms, with tiny bolts of cyan-colored lightning crackling around him.
Suddenly, as the beast moved, a patch of his face… fell off.
Everyone suddenly realized that this beast wasn't made of flesh and blood, but of earth.
"It's Pixie-Bob's Quirk!" Midoriya shouted, taking a stance against the humongous beast as it came for him. "Let's do it, guys!"
Full Cowl —
Red-colored veins sprang up on Midoriya's body as he activated One For All.
— 15% —
From the other side, a sheet of ice left Todoroki's feet, freezing the beast's legs.
Tenya and Bakugo came shooting across the space, making half the beast explode with a bang.
Feeling the fruit of his training during the break, Midoriya blurred, pulling back his fist.
And with one punch, he shattered the entire beast, flakes of mud flying in all directions.
— Smash!
"Hey, that's not fair…" Luke said, joining the students. "…started partying without me?"
On the parking spot up the mountain, Pixie-Bob's brows twitched at the comment, a nasty grin surfacing on her face. "… Well then… I will not be holding back, lovely kitties!"
She put her paws on the earth, and the entire forest came alive, roars and growls overtaking the natural sounds.
Down the mountain, all threw a nasty look at Luke.
"… What?!" he said, laughing wryly.
And, as the students gathered before boldly stepping into the forest, a face — embedded in the trunk of a tree — watched them all… smiling.
