Thor, now fully restored as the God of Thunder, was a magnificent, terrifying sight. He spun Mjolnir with a deafening roar, summoning the full fury of the storm from the heavens. A violent, swirling tornado descended upon the battlefield, its vortex a maelstrom of wind, dust, and crackling lightning. The mighty Destroyer, caught in its grip, was helplessly swept into the air. It tried to fire its energy pulses, but Thor, now a master of the tempest, hovered in the eye of the storm, deflecting each searing blast with an effortless flick of his hammer.

As the storm reached its zenith, Thor became a living thunderbolt. He plunged from the heavens, hammer-first, charging straight through the Destroyer's own pulse attack. The raw cosmic energy scattered harmlessly against the face of Mjolnir like fireworks. With one final, earth-shaking blow, Thor smashed his hammer directly into the Destroyer's head.

The impact was absolute. A blinding flash of white light erupted, and for a moment, all sound ceased. Then, a web of brilliant blue lightning surged across the enemy's Uru armor, crackling through its enchanted circuits. Whatever cosmic force powered the automaton from within shattered instantly. The light in its furnace-like face died. The Destroyer froze mid-air—its body suddenly limp and lifeless like a discarded suit of armor—and plummeted to the ground with a cataclysmic crash that shook the very foundations of the town.

The thunderstorm dissipated as quickly as it had formed, the sun breaking through the clouds. Thor descended slowly, gripping Mjolnir, his regal red cape billowing behind him. As his feet touched the ground, he saw them. Jane, her face a mask of joyous tears, was running toward him. And sprinting with an impossible, inhuman speed, was the strange, armored figure.

Thor's heart swelled. Ah, Jane! he thought. Her devotion is boundless! And the armored warrior… he fought with the heart of an Asgardian! He has earned a hero's embrace from the son of Odin! A magnanimous smile spread across his face, and he opened his arms wide, ready to receive his two admirers.

Jane, still some distance away, saw Thor's open arms and her heart leaped. But she looked on in puzzlement as the armored figure, moving far faster than any human, showed no signs of slowing down.

Aidan, for his part, didn't even see Thor's gesture. His helmet's HUD was locked onto the smoldering wreckage of the Destroyer. Analysis: Primary Uru metal shell is at 98% integrity. Enchantment nullified. Prime salvage opportunity. He was a scientist running toward a unique and priceless specimen.

He reached Thor first, and without breaking stride, gracefully sidestepped the god's open-armed welcome and dashed straight for the fallen Destroyer.

The moment froze in awkward silence. Thor remained standing, his arms outstretched like a confused statue, his heroic smile faltering. Fandral, watching from the sidelines, clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle a laugh. Volstagg, however, let out a booming, hearty guffaw that finally broke the tension. Thankfully, Jane reached him soon after, easing his embarrassment as she threw her arms around him.

Meanwhile, Aidan had reached the crash site. He brushed aside the wreckage of a car that lay crumpled on the automaton's chest. Beneath it, the Destroyer's shell—charred but perfectly intact—lay exposed. "Beautiful," Aidan grinned inside his helmet.

His bio-suit dispersed into a cloud of micro-drones that flowed over the silver Uru metal like a tide of black ink. They seeped into the seams, integrating with the internal structure as new circuits of black nanites spread across the surface. Two powerful jet nozzles, salvaged from his own Archangel design, were installed on its back. Within moments, the Destroyer stood up again. Its sleek silver exterior was now streaked with black, pulsating lines, radiating an ominous new vibe. As a final, absurd touch, Aidan had a handful of drones retrieve his Adamantium shield and place it on the Destroyer's head like a round, metal hat.

Satisfied, Aidan deactivated his bio-suit and approached the group, his new, colossal toy following him like a loyal hound. He then noticed Jane and Thor, who were now locked in a passionate, celebratory kiss. Instantly, his good mood soured. Before he could say anything, everyone's attention locked on the resurrected Destroyer looming behind him.

"Kid, get away from that thing!" Thor shouted, gripping Mjolnir, ready to fight again.

"It's me!" Aidan quickly called out, seeing Thor about to strike his new prized possession. His bio-suit snapped back into place around him, revealing his familiar blue silhouette.

"You again?" Thor frowned, lowering his hammer.

"This big guy is under my control now," Aidan said. He realized only then that the others had never actually seen his face. He retracted his helmet. "If you don't mind, I'll be taking him with me."

"No problem," Thor said without hesitation, a grin returning to his face. "Call it a thank-you gift."

"Nice outfit," Aidan said, admiring Thor's full Asgardian armor.

"It's you!" Jane and the others said in unison, finally recognizing the young man who had stood out so much amongst the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

"Hi," he greeted with a smile. "Aidan Parker. A pleasure to meet you all properly."

"I'm Jane Foster," Jane said first. "Nice to meet you too."

"I am Thor. This is Lady Sif, Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun," Thor continued with the introductions.

"Dr. Erik Selvig," the older man said, eyeing Aidan carefully. "You live in Queens?"

"That's right," Aidan nodded.

"How did you end up all the way out here? Working with S.H.I.E.L.D., no less?" Selvig asked, puzzled.

"Tagging along to learn," Aidan replied casually.

"By the nine realms, I thought you were a veteran of a hundred battles! A boy!" Volstagg groaned. "My ale-horn weeps at this lost opportunity!"

"All you care about is drinking and eating," Fandral scolded him.

"We should sue that agency for hiring a minor," Darcy, the bespectacled woman, muttered darkly. "Maybe we can get my iPod back."

"He came along for fun—not as an employee," Agent Coulson said, appearing as if from nowhere. He glanced at the repurposed Destroyer, then turned to Thor. "Looks like there's more you've been keeping from me."

"Son of Kul," Thor said with heartfelt sincerity, placing a hand on Coulson's shoulder. "We are the same. Warriors, protecting this world." He then looked at Aidan. "And you, Aidan Parker. From this day forward, you can consider me an ally." He turned back to Coulson. "But you still need to return what you took from Jane."

"They stole it!" Jane huffed angrily.

"Borrowed," Coulson corrected, but relented under Thor's gaze. "Fine. You can have your equipment back." He turned to Thor again. "I assume you have a way home?"

"We must get to the Bifrost," Thor said, gathering his friends. He turned to Jane. "Want to see the bridge I kept telling you about?"

"…Of course," Jane answered softly. With that, Thor scooped her into his arms and soared skyward.

The Asgardians and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stared after them, slightly stunned. They couldn't fly.

"Need a lift?" Aidan's voice called out. He was casually perched on the Destroyer's shoulder. Jets on its feet and back ignited with a powerful hum, and it hovered above the ground. Everyone's eyes lit up.

A massive silver figure streaked through the sky, with several passengers clinging to its back. "Aidan, this thing is yours?" Coulson shouted over the wind.

"Now it is!" Aidan yelled back.

At the Bifrost site, Sif and the others jumped down. "Aidan Parker," Sif said warmly, "once this is all over, I hope you'll visit us in Asgard."

"I'll have barrels of juice waiting just for you!" Volstagg added with a booming laugh.

"Absolutely," Aidan said, pulling out a futuristic camera. "But first, let's take a photo together!" He tossed the camera into the air, where it hovered.

Click! A flash burst from the floating lens, and a printed group photo emerged. "Here," he said, handing it to Thor.

"By the gods, a magic painting box!" Volstagg stared in awe.

"Safe travels!" Aidan called as a beam of rainbow light descended from the sky. The Bifrost activated, and Thor and his group vanished, leaving only a shimmering, complex rune pattern burned into the ground.

Aidan studied the runes, committing them to memory, then turned to say his goodbyes. "I'll be heading out!" he waved, hopping back onto the Destroyer.

"You're not coming back with us?" Coulson asked.

"Nope. No way to fit this armor in a van, and it's not exactly safe at your place either," Aidan replied. "Better if I fly myself."

"I think you should let us hold onto it"

"Don't even think about it!" Aidan shot him down instantly. "It's my personal property now."

"Alright, alright," Coulson sighed. "How about I send Hawkeye to escort you back?"

"No need. I'll manage," Aidan said, shaking his head. The silver-and-black figure ascended, carrying him into the clouds and vanishing from sight, leaving Coulson standing alone in the quiet desert, wondering what kind of being had just left his world.
