Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: A Long-Term Meal Voucher

At that moment, Yue Chan unleashed the divine ability of the Peacock Clan: the Five-Colored Divine Light. It illuminated the entire landscape, sweeping through with overwhelming force, instilling a sense of suffocation and oppression.

Anything struck by the radiant light plummeted to the ground, ground to dust. Even the sturdiest diamond rock was no exception. The surrounding gravity surged tenfold, a terrifying force that pinned everything in place, like an ox sinking into the sea or a creature trapped in a swamp.

"Go!" Yue Chan commanded, her small, fair hand waving. The mountain-sized five-colored peacock charged toward Lin Fan with blinding speed, its roars reverberating, awe-inspiring and fearsome.

Yet Lin Fan showed no fear. Instead of retreating, he advanced, transforming into a streak of light aimed straight at Yue Chan. He didn't even dodge the oncoming peacock, rushing headlong toward it.

Once again, he unleashed the power of his Supreme Bone. A verdant glow surged forth, brimming with vitality, composed of countless runes that formed a radiant halo enveloping him.

Boom!

The five-colored peacock struck the light barrier but failed to penetrate it. Instead, chains of runes shot from the halo, dissolving the peacock into a shower of scattered light that Lin Fan absorbed.

"What… what kind of supreme technique is this? It's too bizarre!" Yue Chan exclaimed, still stunned despite having witnessed it before.

The ability was beyond her comprehension, defying logic. Not only did it render Lin Fan immune to all attacks, but it also restored his vitality and spirit. After such a grueling fight, both were drenched in sweat, panting with exhaustion. Yet Lin Fan's restoration to peak condition left Yue Chan dumbfounded.

How am I supposed to fight this? It's absurdly overpowered! she thought, exasperated.

As she grumbled, Lin Fan closed the distance in an instant, appearing before her. He swung a fist that gleamed like divine iron, shattering the surrounding runes with devastating force, aiming straight for her forehead.

Just an inch from her brow, the massive fist halted. Lin Fan grinned. "You lose."

"Freak!" Yue Chan pouted, frustrated. His physical strength and innate divine ability were outrageously strong, leaving her helpless.

But she wasn't a sore loser. She removed the storage pouch from her waist and tossed it to him, honoring their pre-agreed terms.

"Here."

Lin Fan retracted his fist and caught the Qiankun Pouch, glancing at its contents: fine wine, gourmet food, and a treasure fan crafted from some divine feather.

Whoosh!

Curious, Lin Fan gave the crimson feather fan a light wave. Instantly, lightning crackled, and a torrent of scarlet flames erupted, reducing a nearby mountain to ashes.

"What a treasure! Way better than that sword you lost to me last time," Lin Fan said, delighted. The fan required minimal divine energy to unleash its formidable power—a rare and valuable artifact.

This girl is filthy rich, he thought. It hasn't even been that long, and she's already got new goodies.

His gaze fixed on Yue Chan, his eyes gleaming with greed, like a little miser eyeing a priceless gem.

Yue Chan shuddered under his stare, instinctively stepping back. "Don't come closer! I'm out of treasures—they're all yours now!"

"No worries. Come back next time, boss. You're always welcome," Lin Fan said with a cheeky smile, plopping onto a large bluestone. He pulled out the wine and food, digging in casually, unbothered by the rugged surroundings.

Yue Chan nearly lost it. His words hit like a sledgehammer—he was treating her like a long-term meal voucher!

"Hmph!" She turned away with a cold huff, muttering to herself, Don't get mad. Getting angry at this brat only humiliates me further.

After a while, she glanced back, only to see Lin Fan still munching away, completely ignoring her. Her frustration flared. I bring you all this stuff, and you just eat alone without even inviting me? How infuriating!

As if reading her thoughts, Lin Fan called out, "Hey, want to join me for a drink? I can't finish this by myself."

Yue Chan's heart lifted, though she maintained a reluctant facade. "Fine, I'll graciously have a drink with you," she said, feigning indifference.

Lin Fan shook his head, amused. What an arrogant little girl. But since she's my future meal voucher, I'll humor her and keep her coming back.

"You seem pretty bored," Yue Chan remarked, noticing he was either cultivating or sitting on rocks, staring into space.

Lin Fan glanced at her, sipping a cup of wine brewed from hundred flowers. "Bored? Of course I am. Unlike you, I can't just wander wherever I please. I'm stuck in this little world, with no one normal to talk to."

"Yeah, I guess. Old Ancestor isn't exactly the chatty type—way too cold," Yue Chan said, resting her delicate chin in her hand, deep in thought.

"Old Ancestor?" Lin Fan asked, pausing mid-bite of a spiritual fruit.

Yue Chan pouted, clearly displeased. "You know, your Pretty Sister. Since she doesn't want me as her disciple, I just call her Old Ancestor…"

The little girl rambled on, her words spilling out like a rapid-fire vent of her frustrations with Qing Yao. Her fierce, adorable expression was utterly charming.

Lin Fan finally pieced it together. Qing Yao was an ancestor from Yue Chan's maternal lineage, a blood relative. But…

He smirked. "If Pretty Sister knew you were badmouthing her behind her back—and calling her old—hehehe…"

Yue Chan froze, then shot to her feet, her gem-like eyes wide with alarm. "You're going to tattle again?!"

She cursed her loose tongue. In a moment of reckless venting, she'd spilled her true feelings. I'm done for. Who knows how that woman will punish me!

Panicking, she stomped her foot, glaring at Lin Fan as she scrambled for a way to silence him. Maybe I should knock him out or make him mute?

She quickly dismissed the idea. Not only was she unsure she could beat him, but if anyone investigated later, she'd still face consequences.

He loves treasures. Maybe I can buy his silence, she thought, only to realize, with dismay, that Lin Fan had already won all her recent treasures, including the crimson feather fan she'd had for just three days. She was flat broke.

Watching Yue Chan's expressive face cycle through emotions, Lin Fan burst into laughter. "Hahaha! What's with that look, silly girl? Relax, I won't tattle. But… I'm holding onto this secret for life!"

Yue Chan, relieved by his first words, felt her face fall at the second half. He was still the same infuriating, greedy brat, planning to milk this for all it was worth.

"You're a prodigy! Where's your pride, your dignity? How can you be so shameless?!" she accused.

Unfazed, Lin Fan grinned cheekily. "Pride and dignity? Can I eat those? How about I sell them to you for some treasures?"

Yue Chan was floored. She'd never met anyone so brazen. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. "Go die, you jerk!" she shouted.

In a fit of rage, she kicked the bluestone Lin Fan sat on, shattering it. She chased after him, hurling treasure techniques as rocks tumbled and the ground quaked.

As the sun set, their silhouettes stretched long across the landscape, gradually fading into the glow of the twilight.

_

The barren back mountain, now scarred with fresh craters and scattered debris, bore witness to their chaotic chase. The fading light cast a warm hue over the scene, blending their laughter and shouts into the tranquil dusk.
