Chapter 94 - The Noir Desktop starts to take shape

Kristen yawned, and cracked her neck. She glanced at the time in the corner of her computer screen, and let out a yelp.

She had been engrossed in the project for nearly six hours, and it was almost midnight.

"Professor, can I leave for the night?" she pinged Ivan on the SiriusChat channel they had set up for the project.

Ivan's reply was almost instantaneous.

"Holy crap! I lost track of time too! Yes, of course!"

Kristen pushed her work to the repository, and got up.

She opened the door of the cubicle, and almost ran into Ivan.

"How was your first day of the internship?" he asked.

Kristen bit her lip, and hesitated.

"Sir, can you keep a secret?" she asked, blushing nervously.

Ivan raised an eyebrow.

"Sure, what is it?"

Kristen took a deep breath.

"I've always wanted to work at Sirius Software. When you offered me the internship, I was so excited! But I was also really nervous. I didn't want to mess up, or disappoint you," she said breathlessly.
