While walking to the groom's room, Liebe said, "Umm… any idea why the groom might want a word with me, Mr… Mr…?"
The man replied, "Mr. Dame will be sufficient."
Liebe said, "Okay, Mr. Dame. Thank you for the message."
As Liebe knocked on the groom's door, the groom's voice came from inside.
"Who is it?"
"It's Liebe Al Faust, the Chief of Security," Liebe replied.
Gabriel said, "Come in."
As Liebe entered, Gabriel looked him over.
"So you are Liebe Al Faust… my future son?"
"Just 'Liebe' is fine," Liebe answered.
Gabriel's eyes narrowed. "Then let me get straight to the point. The fact that having a half-breed like you anywhere near me is enough to make me vomit. To think that a noble would even consider a half-breed as a child—what a joke. But it seems your suit is nice. What a tragedy that it's being insulted by being worn by you."
Liebe replied calmly, "Unfortunately, I knew that the moment you entered my home. You reeked of jealousy, hatred, and anger. My name just made it worse, didn't it?"
Gabriel scowled. "To think that a dog such as you has the audacity to talk over someone like me."
Liebe said evenly, "Would that be all? If so, I should be returning to my duties."
Gabriel smirked. "I called you here for one reason—ready to offer you something."
Liebe asked, "What is it?"
Gabriel leaned forward. "During the vows, my snipers will also be present. You have two choices. Option one: get in the way and die—die while being loved by your mother. Or option two: I will be shot, and you will fail as Chief of Security and never see your mother's face again."
Liebe's eyes hardened. "I choose neither. How could I disappear knowing insects like you will always be around my mother?"
Gabriel sneered. "You are a dog, and you will die like a dog. That's all the mercy I can show."
Liebe said, "You may give it your all, but I assure you, when I try, you won't die—you'll be sealed to a fate worse than death itself."
Gabriel growled, "You may leave now."
Liebe said, "Thank you."
After Liebe left and was checking the security around the venue, he didn't know that their conversation had been recorded and then edited. Gabriel took the edited audio to Lilith. The recording made it sound like Liebe had insulted Gabriel while Gabriel was trying to talk peacefully.
When Lilith heard it, she was devastated.
During the ceremony, just as Lilith was about to walk down the aisle, Liebe arrived and said, "Sorry, Mom… I'm late."
Lilith's eyes were cold. "Liebe… tell me the truth. Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to get rid of Gabriel?"
Liebe was stunned. "What are you saying, Mom? I didn't do anything."
As they walked down the aisle together, Liebe whispered, "Mom, I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way. It wasn't intentional. We can discuss this later."
Lilith shook her head. "No… we can't. After seeing what you did, my son died for me."
Liebe's voice broke. "I'm sorry, Mother."
And just as they reached the end of the aisle, Liebe turned to return to his post. But at the very moment they were about to take their vows, a magic bullet was fired toward the altar.
