Chapter 5 - THE WAR

Seventeen years later.....

The sound of people screaming filled the air, followed by slashing sounds, a war had broken out between two kingdoms, and the stronger kingdom had attacked the weaker one.

"Lisa, Lisa come quickly don't pack too much, they are getting closer we have to leave" the voice of an elderly woman could be heard as she came out from her room with a small bag.

"I'm coming mother" the girl named Lisa voice sounded followed a young beautiful girl with white hair that reached just above her waist.

"Have you packed everything, good, stick close to me so we won't get caught...." her words were stopped by the sound of a loud crash.

"They are here" the elderly woman said followed by countless men as they rushed into their house in two groups, they stood in two lines making way for their leader and he walked in, standing in their midst with his head held high.

"Tsk tsk just women" he said in a detestable tone like he hated women.

"No man, take the women with us we would need more slaves" he gave a command before turning around and he left with almost more than half the men, as they moved to the next house to continue their mission leaving just five men to take care of them.

"No please don't hurt my daughter" the woman with grey hair pleaded seeing them move forward.

Looking among themselves, they burst into laughter, "don't worry grandma we won't hurt your daughter" one of them said making her calm down a bit.

"But we can't promise our prince won't" he continued and they are burst out in another round of laugher

Fear gripped Elisa hearing this words, she could feel her head going lightheaded from the fear. Scanning the room she tried thinking of an escape route but her brain stopped working at that moment.

Two men attacked them before she could react, she felt herself being dragged outside their house, her head was buzzing with danger sign but she. was to scared to react.

She could hear her mother screaming and pleading with them to not hurt her daughter and let her go but to no avail they instead ignored her.

Madeline could feel hot tears gushed down her face but she remained quiet not making a sound.

The men took them in different directions, taking her to the first carriage and her mother the second one, they were about four carriages each big enough to accommodate at least a hundred people in them.

The men ruthlessly flung her into the carriage, chaining her hands and legs, then they ruthlessly shut the door making the place dark.

She could hear the sound of people sobbing, and she quickly joined them, the air was filled with misery, it was dark and lonely.

Her tears was her only comfort.

.....

She stayed in that position for a long time, with the men occasionally bringing more people into the carriage.

They waited a bit longer before they felt the movement of the carriage, madeline rubbed her sweaty hands against her clothes trying to calm herself down as she sat there lost in thought.

The carriage had been moving for hours now and it had gotten dark outside, she was slightly closer to the front do she could hear the conversation between the men riding the carriage.

"It's has gotten dark, don't you think we should rest a bit, what if we encounter a wild animal" said a man.

"You are right but who would have the guts to tell commander Leonard that" the second guy replied.

"You are right...." the first guy words were cut as the sound of smashing distracted him, seeing a small accident that had happened ahead he pulled the reins of the horses.

"What was that"one of the men asked.

"I don't know, let me go and check" another man said, stepping down of the coachman's seat he walked forward to the place where the accident had happened, on reaching there his eyes widened in disbelief.
