Hailee's POV
We both lay on my bed, and Nathan pulled me close until my head rested on his chest, his arm wrapped securely around me.
I closed my eyes, breathing in the intoxicating scent of him. There was something comforting and familiar about it.
A peaceful silence settled between us until Nathan finally spoke.
"I heard what happened at the hospital... I'm sorry about that," he said quietly.
I nodded but didn't say a word. I didn't trust my voice to come out right.
Nathan sighed deeply and pressed a soft kiss on the top of my head.
"I think it's time for me to leave," he said gently.
My heart dropped.
I instantly frowned, not wanting him to go. I was so comfortable in his arms. Safe. But how could I tell him that? How could I say it without sounding desperate or pathetic?
Feeling disappointed, I slowly pulled away and sat up on the bed.
He gave me a weak smile before standing to his feet.
