Chapter 263 - Touch Me

Hailee's POV

Every hair on my arms stood up.

A shiver ran down my spine so fast I forgot how to breathe.

My thighs pressed together on instinct.

Heat rushed straight to my stomach.

The baby inside me moved—not in pain—but in a strange, quiet calm.

"N-Nathan…" I whispered, my voice shaking.

He slid his arm slowly around my waist from behind, pulling me gently back into his chest.

"I told you I won't cross certain lines," he murmured, letting his lips hover near my ear without touching.

"But I'm not made of stone, Hailee."

My heart hammered so hard it shook my whole body.

"I heard you," he whispered.

"I smelled what you felt."

His breath brushed my skin.

"And I'm not ignoring it."

I swallowed hard, my breath trembling.

"Nathan… what are you… doing?"

His fingers brushed my waist, slow and warm.

"I'm helping you," he whispered.

"Unless you want me to stop."

His voice dropped even lower.

"Do you want me to stop?"

I couldn't speak.

I couldn't breathe.
