Bruce/Batman Pov:
"It's been 2 years since Dick disappeared."
I am currently in the batcave running an algorithm on the batcomputer to try to find Dick, but again, it came back as a failure.
My line of thought is broken by Barbara coming carrying our 1-year-old daughter Helena.
"Anything ?." Barbara asks, already knowing the answer.
"No...another failure." I say and close my eyes. The guilt has been ripping both of us apart.
The only good thing that came out of it was Helena.
When we had to tell the others, things went as we expected, with a lot of shouting and screaming.
When we told Commissar Gordon, he just looked at Barbara and uttered a phrase that made Barbara instantly cry.
"You are a disappointment, Barbara."
After that, Barbara was kicked out of the Gordon House and came to live at the mansion, and it didn't take long for the news to arrive at The Press.
"It appears that Bilionare Bruce Wayne just got himself into a delicate situation." Vicky Vale, the reporter of The Gotham Gazette
"Our source says that the Bilionare had an affair with the 22-year-old law student Barbara Gordon, daughter of the commissar James Gordon from Gotham Pd. What is more shocking is that Barbara was in a serious relationship with Richard Grayson, adopted son of Bruce Wayne." Vicky says
"Dick, as he liked being called, was the head of relations from Wayne Enterprise with the Gotham Police Department; he was responsible for giving more equipment and training to our police force; he is, as many of our views clearly remember, the last surviving member of The Flying Graysons."
"A circus company famous for its stunts that were brutally murdered by themobster Tony Zucco
Richard was the only survivor.
Then he was adopted by the billionaire and studied and majored in criminology at the University of Gotham." Vicky finalizies
"According to the company's spokesperson, "Dick took a sabbatical to reevaluate his future, and that was all the company had to say, but our sources said that the reason he left Gotham was because Barbara is pregnant with Bruce Wayne's child." Vicky says
"This is one of the biggest scandals that the billionaire has been facing; this is Vicky Vale from the Gotham Gazette." Vicky ends her report
After this, things just went downhill. Barbara started to be persecuted by the media and had to drop out of university.
It started to affect both our civilian and hero identities; the League had started to leave us out of missions and decisions.
We have been living this never-ending nightmare, and the only good thing was Helena.
Alfred helps, but he becomes more cold towards us; he never stays with us more than necessary. I know that he blames us for all this.
I can't say that I blame him; on the plus side, he loves Helena and is always looking after and taking care of her.
God, what have I done?
I destroyed my family; I drove my son away from me, and I may never see him again.
I am broken from my depressed thoughts by a red alert coming from the batcomputer.
"All the Leaguers come in; we have an invasion from Apokolips; they have started to attack Metropolis; all members go to Metroplis and prepare to fight." Martian Manhunter's voice comes from the communications
I turn to Barbara, and she nods.
I get up and kiss Helena in the head, say my goodbyes to Barbara, and board the Batwing. I set the coordinates to Metropolis.
And when I arrive, I see desolation.
Buildings on the ground, explosions going off, and many heroes fighting Parademons
I put the Batwing in attack mode and started to blast Parademons left and right.
After defeating a horde of parademons, I see from the corner of my eyes two lazer beams, and I know very well where they come from.
I start to maneuver the batwing, trying to dodge, but the Omega Beams give chase, and I know that I cannot dodge forever, so I put the batwing on autopilot and eject from it.
I eject from the Batwing just in time as the Omega beams hit it, exploding into oblivion.
I glide down, landing softly on the ground next to Clark and Diana.
"Superman...Wonder Woman." I say give them both a nod.
And they nod back.
"So what's the situation?" I ask them both.
"The Leaguers have pushed back the enemy force, but we won't hold for long; we have located Darkseid; if we take him down, we can stop the invasion as a whole." Wonder Woman says as we start to form an attack plan to take him down.
After we planned the attack, we went to fight Darkseid. When we arrived, we saw Darkseid standing with a horde of parademons, his furies, and his generals by his side.
"AH...The Trinity of The Justice League, what do I own the pleasure of?" The Darkseid says, smirking evilly
"Cease this madness, Darkseid; end this invasion and go home." Wonder Woman says
"DO NOT ORDER LORD DARKSEID YOUR LOWLY LIFE BEING!!." Desaad shouted at us.
"Enough Desaad." Darkseid says Camly, and Desaad shuts up indefinitely.
"This planet is nothing but dirt beneath my feet, and you three have been nothing but annoience; every single invasion and every race that I have slain was never personal; it was just a quest for dominion, but what I am about to do with your planet is going to put a smile on my face." Darkseid is giving us a cold and evil smile.
"Don't interfere; it's my battle!" Darkseid says to his army
Then the battle started. Superman and Wonder Woman charged first, trading blows with Darkseid, and I stayed behind, analyzing and strategizing, putting some explosive traps on the field, and joining the battle.
Wonder Woman goes to slash Darkseid on his eyes, but Darkseid ducks and tackles Wonder Woman grabs her arms and breaks both, making her cry out.
"!!!DIANA!!!." Superman screams and goes to tackle him, but Darkseid sidesteps and takes out a small dagger with a green blade and stabs him in the chest, making him cry out.
"!!!SUPERMAN!!!." I run at him, throwing some explosive batrangas at him and doing little to nothing to him.
He laughs at me and goes to punch me, but I retreat, trying to bait him with my traps that I had put earlier.
He steps on one of my traps, and it's engulfed in an explosion, but he keeps walking and laughing at me.
"Oh detective, how far had the mights fallen? You used to be the only human that I respected; I always admired your intellect, so imagine my surprise when I discovered what you had done to the boy you called son." Darkseid says while throwing punches and I dodging
"It was pathethic !; I can't believe I have thought of you as my intellectual rival; you are now just another wortless human." Darkseid finished while connicting a punch on my face, sending me flying a couple of meters.
"Look Batman." I get up in pain, look around, and gasp.
All the heroes from The League are on their knees.
Some hurt, some tired, and others dead.
"This is what happens when someone tries to fight Darkseid!." Darkseid says in a booming voice, and the army of parademons roar.
"And now all the planet knows this." Darkseid is making me confused until I look around and see that Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen are being held hostage by a group of parademons. And Jimmy has a camera that is transmitting to the whole world.
The whole world just saw their protectors and heroes fail.
Their heroes fall
"This is the end." Darkseid says darkly, looking at the camera.
We Lost
We failed
I failed
I failed as Batman.
I failed as Bruce Wayne.
I failed as a father.
I am sorry. Dick, Helena, Barbara, Mom, and Dad
The mood became hopeless.
The heroes were on the ground, bleeding, and captured.
"!!!HEYYY!!!. A familiar voice cut through the doomed atmosphere. Everyone looked up and saw at a distance a white-haired man dressed in jeans and shirtless, wearing a large red coat over his shoulders and a claymore-type sword in his left hand.
It's Dick
It's my son; he is different, but I can still recognize him.
Everyone looks at him, even the enemies forces. Everyone looks at him, wabbling to know what he is going to do.
Jimmy Olsen, just as everybody looks at this man that just appeared, looks like the photographer that he is. He adjusted his camera and zoomed in on the unknown man. showing him to the world
The whole world saw this man, but just a few people recognized who he was.
but two are more important. They are watching the invasion from Gotham after having to put a baby to sleep and were nervolently watching. They fear that their respective sons and baby daddy are going to die, and now they are watching the TV in disbelief.
They see a respectful son and a loved one.
Alfred couldn't believe that he saw Dick again. After they had said their goodbyes, Alfred thought that he would never see him again, but now he saw him, and he couldn't be happy even in this situation.
Barbara is in a similar state as Alfred. The guilt that she feels is always on her, especially when she is holding her daughter. She just wishes that her daughter was Dick and not Bruce.
Her and Bruce do not love each other; they don't even know why they slept together, and now they are both paying the price.
Barbara's heart hurts knowing that her daughter will grow up without seeing her parents in love.
It's a silly thing, but she always remembers when she was just a little girl and she saw her parents dancing and laughing together.
And now, just as the world is about to descend into chaos, The man that she loves appears again.
white-haired and more hot
She knows that there isn't time for such thoughts, but the camera gives a good resolution of Dick's muscles and abs.
She quickly wipes her drool and gets serious again. Dick, no matter how skilled or strong, cannot go against Darkseid or his forces. If he tries, he will die.
She and Alfred keep their eyes glued to the screen on the batcomputer, hoping for the best.
Back Battlefield is more commonly known as Metropolis with Batman.
Me and the League are watching and wondering what Dick is planning.
We watch as he takes a deep breath, preparing to shout.
"!!! DID ANYBODY SAW A JUKEBOX ARROUND HERE?!" Dick shouted, making all of the League and me look at him in disbelief, and Darkseid and his armies look at him in confusion, not knowing what a jukebox is.
He looks around and appears to have found it.
"!!! Nevermind, I just found it! Dick says to find it near Darkseid, stab his sword on the ground, hang his coat on it, and start to casually walk to us shirtless.
THIRD PERSON POV
"NO GET BACK IT'S NOT SAFE RU-.." Batman tries to say something but is silenced by a kick to the face by Darkseid.
"So the prodigal son returns; what do you seek, boy?" Darkseid said while trying to manipulate the boy that if Batman had failed in his regard, this boy would do it.
"Nothing, just that little smooth criminal over that, and I will be on my way." Dante says, pointing at the jukebox, that despite all the damage that happened to the city and the building that she was in, it is still in one piece.
"Answer me, do you not seek vengeance against what they have done to you?" Darkseid says, smirking, that if he can successfully manipulate and corrupt him, he will have the definitive victory against the Justice League.
He is going to get the best of them and throw them into the mud.
"Nah, I am cool." Dante said, shrugging his shoulder, not caring at all.
This stuns Darkseid a little, but he quickly composes himself and kerps, trying
"If you join me, I could give you vengeance, women, and everything that you desire!" Darkseid attempts to manipulate him.
"Thank you, but no thank you, Uxas." Dante just states that he is very done with this boring conversation.
The use of his real name stuns Darkseid, and a thought instantly invades his mind.
How does this mortal know my name?
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT NAME, BOY?!"" Darkseid thundered through the battlefield, scaring both the heroes and the enemy forces.
The heroes are scared because of Dick and what may happen to Earth, and the enemy force is scared because they never saw their Lord lose his temper like that.
Dante just ignored him and kept walking, but he had a grin on his face, almost like he was mocking Darkseid, and that enraged Darkseid to another level.
"ANSEWS ME BOY!!." Darkseid shouted at him, his eyes burrning with the Omega's beams.
but this does not fazze Dante.
"Oh, would you look at this little Uxas? He's mad, just like a little baby, but an ugly and grey baby." Dante mocks him and stops to look him in the eye, the height difference making herself know, but that didn't matter to both.
"Your disrespect is the last thing you're going to do in this life, boy. Kill him." Darkseid ordered a group of parademons that didn't waste time going for an attack with their blades.
"DICK RUN, SAVE YOUSELF!!!." Batman Scream
"RUN" "SAVE YOURSELF." A bunch of heroes screamed, including at people who were watching TV at home.
But Dante stood still with a face of boredom, waiting for the attack.
Then they come
Dante is impaled through his chest, legs, and arms, releasing blood everywhere.
Batman released a cry of despair at seeing his son get killed in front of him.
He failed his parents, and now his son
Batman started to cry.
All the heroes look at that scene in shock, and those who knew Dick are looking in sadness.
"Oi fuckface." Dante says shocking every single soul on the battlefield and at home
It's show time, Dante thought.
Dante, with his open hand, just pushed the parademons on his front, releasing them from his head and sending the body flying away.
He spins his head like a basketball.
making the rest stunned
Dante just casually walks while being stabbed and dragging a parademon on the ground that was holding his weapon.
He throws the parademon Head at another killer instantly and backkick the parademon who was being dragged. Sending him to the rest of them, knocking them to the ground.
He takes out the blade that is on his chest and, without looking back, throws the rest of the parademons on the ground.
Everybody from both sides is surprised at this.
The only thought that was shared between everyone was:
What the hell is he?
Dante arrives at the jukebox, checks, and sees that she is alright and on
"This party is getting crazy, Let's Rock!." Dante says tapping the button to play
Nothing happens
He presses again.
Nothing happens
Dante finally loses all his patience and smashes his right hand on the jukebox.
And surprising makes her start to play.
As the music is starting, Dante turns to face the Darkseid army and, with a massive smirk, says
"Let's dance, ladies and gentlemen."
